in todays issue of daily sport they had an interview with hatton and he wants 3 more years fighting , so thats 2 fight a year and hes done , "i can retire right now on what ive earned from boxing but the hunger is still here" he also named hes 6 fights he wants in no particuler order
winner of castillo and corrales back at 140 what would be hes last fight there
arturo gatti
floyd mayweather jnr of course
margorito
and hes last fight he wants to fight cotto cause cotto will be hitting hes prime then and its a very high note to bow out on win or lose
BrownBomber the only point I was making is that people on here like Margorito, just responding because you said finally somebody knows Margorito. The part about PBF's last opponents were in response to Iron Mike's post, and who was PBF suppose to face if Zab wasn't challenge enough for you? If he would've fought Baldomir people would say he's just tryna get belts, and he's also tried to get a fight with Hatton.
Margarito- Hasn't proved himself on a big stage ever, biggest name he has fought, everyone is saying people are ducking him, but hes been beat by guys like Daniel Santos,Rodney Jones,Francisco Lopez, guys Hatton, PBF, Corrales and Castillo would prob win against
Cotto,Biggest name on Cotto's record is the "light fisted" DeMarcus Corley who hurt PBF in one round so please no hate towards this comment,Hatton would prob beat cotto because of his chin, and his heart has never been tested against someone who could pile on the presure non-stop the way hatton would if he had him in trouble
Corrales,Only lost to PBF which no-one can blame him for cos floyd is simly better, knocked out by castillo who came in sooooo much over weight he shouldnt hav been allowed to fight at all, lost to Joel Casamayor in a real war,
Castillo- 54 7 1 (47)Would prob beat hatton cos he can box and hav a war, hatton has never been in a war in the sence that he might acctually lose the fight, he wars when there is no need to
Mayweather- pound for pound king, fastest boxer in the world, better than roy jones jr,shane mosley, ricky hatton and everyone on this list, hatton would get cut to bits against him, look at this early fights against guys with good punchin range on him he gets sliced, it would be gatti all over again but in 10 rounds and with hatton throwing huners of body shots, only to take even more to the head from the p4p best fighter in the WORLD,
Should even fight gatti, hes is about 2 or 3 years past his best, was never the same after Ward, ricky shouldnt try mayweather, castillo or corrles for a while, the rest is 50 50 (i am a ricky hatton fan, i jst no that he cant win)
I agree with deliveryman, IF he beats some of these names and continues this consistently I'll have no problem saying he's this or that. And Brownbomber Hatton and Margorito's resumee combined can't see PBF's so all that pretty girl stuff sounds foolish. Most of this thread is about Future opponents for Hatton and the key word is future because these people PBF already beat. And you said people don't know who Margorito is many people on here like him, they just understand that 20 million is better then 8 million. And that beating Oscar will do more for his career then Margorito.
beezy when was the last time Floyd fought someone mandatory?someone he didnt hand pick himself?(Castillo? A long time ago)
About the guys he already beat,Corrales should not even be mentioned and the Castillo fights were close enough to have a 3rd fight so that leaves Castillo still in the mix. When i said Mayweather might take the 8 mill. after all------I meant in case the Delahoya fight falls off for some reason. As we all know they are gonna a couple of obstacles that have to be jumped before this fight is made.Oscar>>>>Margarito in any way money and popularity any day of the week and twice on Sunday oh and ofcourse Id rather see Oscar vs. Floyd>>>>>>Floyd vs. Tony
...Do you know how to read?
Here, let me paraphrase:
For you to make such a bold statement (Hatton being the best body puncher in the past decade), I think is a bit premature. You're basing this off of one true, legitimate benchmark in Tyszu. I'm just saying that's not enough to be making that kind of statement, especially considering KT was old and coming off a long period of inactivity.
That being said, I'm not saying your wrong, I'm just saying, "let's wait and see"

Oh, so being the best body puncher in the world for 5-10 years means nothing then?
How can you honestly say that with certainty when he's only had one truly legitimate bench mark to make that statement.
Listen, I'm not saying that he isn't... I'm just saying he needs to PROVE it. Which he plans on doing... I even think Ricky himself would agree with me here.
His whole claim to fame has been one fight and one fight only. Not only was Kostya old, but also coming off a huge period of virtually no activity. He still has a lot to prove for the hype he's been getting.
finally a fighter who knows who Margarito is.
Hard to say what will happen cause in the next 2 years the guys on his list could get wipped off the map.cotto and castillo will fight this year maybe floyd will take those 8mill with Margarito after all.what if dela comes back and whipps on everybody?
I respect Hatton cause he is saying the right names and not picking Pretty girl fights.
The thing about Hatton is: He still has a lot to prove, which is unfortunate to say for a fighter of his caliber and after 40 fights.
So I'm going to hold off on the Hatton train for the time being.
"Cracker"...come on playa, dont pull the race card with me...I actually saw Hattons bout againt Tyzu..and i wasnt convinced at all playa..race doesnt make a fighter at all....
oh i know that but seriously dude you are a hater for sure.
Wow I just noticed that you have 227 posts in less than 12 days. Do you go outside, man? Jesus.
I'm not trying to be rude or start something, or anything... just wondering.
come on dude, i understand that you have never seen hatton fight and that you must find it hard to think that a cracker can fight, but thats rediculous. cotto and corrales have no chance against hatton. castillo and floyd do and thats bout it.

Corrales beat hatton?...Hatton will have a field day with his body.
Castillo has been in too many wars, Hatton would win but it will not be easy.
Cotto and Pretty boy are the only ones who could beat Hatton.
Hatton would kill gatti.
The question is...if Hatton defeated all 6 of them and then retires...would be classed as one of the greatest ever!!
Hell Yea he woulld!!!!thats not a question....But everybody in america knows that wont happen..
i dont know why everyone thinks he would tool on gatti...im not so sure itd be the one-sided beating everyone thinks. gatti fights well against come-forward volume punchers...i think itd be a quite a barn-burner with hatton pulling out the win.
i think that hatton could do well against any of the guys mentioned...i feel like people either overrate him or underrate him...he's not an unstoppable swarming machine, but he's also not a thin-skinned limey *** either.
Zab was recognized at the #1 guy at welter before his loss to Baldy, (which was a fluke loss by the way.. if they fought again, I don't think there's anyone here that would pick Carlos to win again). and no one wanted to fight floyd at 140 after embarrassing gatti...
the only thing people can say about floyd is that he's not fighting margarito right away... but that's because he's about to get a 20 million payday with a legend that would boost his publicity and his career dramatically. After that, or if the oscar fight doesn't happen and he STILL doesn't fight Tony, THEN you can say floyd is ducking the competition @ higher weights.
Pretty Boy, Cotto, Castillo or Corrales will all beat Hatton...He better fight gatti if he wants a win under his belt...so i'm looking at 2-3 in his final three fight....
come on dude, i understand that you have never seen hatton fight and that you must find it hard to think that a cracker can fight, but thats rediculous. cotto and corrales have no chance against hatton. castillo and floyd do and thats bout it.
Iron Mike but you were talking like Hatton has been fighting the elite at any point thus far. Just like Hatton is fighting Collazo as his 1 fight at the weight Mayweather did the same as he was moving up, remember where he started. And the Zab that fought PBF would be wanna Hattons best wins if Hatton were to beat him which was PBF's last fight. And his next fight is against the much bigger but still skilled De La Hoya assuming that gets done. If it doesn't then Margorito or Hatton if he's ready yet! So how do you call him out when Hatton has 1 aging fighter as his best win,he's similar in age to PBF he coulda took any of these fights prior to now. He's (40 - 0)
I take Hatton over Margarito, Cotto, Corrales, and Castillo but not Mayweather
There it is. I agree. I think Margarito has a slight of a chance as well just because of his sheer size advantage. I think he beats Castillo in a close UD. Cotto he knocks out. Same with Corrales, but he has to be careful obviously, Corrales has a monster power shot.
"He beats Margarito, Cotto, Corrales and Castillo convincingly, but the Mayweather fight could go either way." Ricky who??? Ricky from New Edition. Those are not easy fights by any stretch of the imagination. You talk like Hatton walks through all of his opponents. No, over 12 rounds he works (give him all credit in world for that)!!! Tszyu throws one punch at a time to take you out. Every other fighter you named throws hard punches in bunches, currently active unlike Tszyu was (layoff) and most importantly they are all around Hatton's age. Hatton beat Tszyu, but styles make fights...
I want to see him fight one of the "Older" elite fighters like Shane or Oscar:
I still say Shane Mosely and Oscar Delahoya are better than any of those guys, maybe the exception of Mayweather.
Cotto, doesn't have a chin
Corrales, to beat up
Castillo, to beat up
Margarito, good fighter, big, but overrated by the fans...I have seen a few of his fights and have to say with all the hype surrounding him, I just don't see him as an "Elite" guy.
__________________
Here are my picks for him to fight, not in order, except maybe fight the older guys first:
Shane or Oscar, maybe both...both are fast, accurate, hard punchers, physically strong (especially Shane), great chin, and have a lot of top level experience, not to mention they have beaten bigger opponents. Also, both of these fighters are not in their prime, so if he loses to them, he is not an elite fighter, then again if he wins, I guess you can argue he does well against "older" elite fighters ;)
Vernon Forrest, if he can come down...tall, long reach/good jab, strong physically {he was able to clinch Shane with no problem}, very good power, and good experience. Problem, he is not a young fighter and has been inactive compared to his younger years.
Mayweather...fast, accurate, sharp puncher, experience, smart, etc.
After those,
Margarito, Cotto, Castillo or Corrales
