James Scott almost won a world title from inside jail.
Scott was a promising light-heavyweight unbeaten in 11 fights when sentenced to 30-40 years for armed robbery in 1975.
For most sportsmen such a sentence would of course mean the end of their career.
Amazingly however Scott fought on as inmate number 57735 from behind bars at the notorious Rahway State Prison in New Jersey and reeled off eight straight wins to put himself firmly into world title contention.
However a points defeat to Jerry Martin in 1980 and then a loss to Qawi a year later ended his dream.
