If there's still one fight left in Goldie, and I think there is, I just don't see him taking on Mayweather, for several reasons:
1. There's a hell of a lot more money in two other fights (Tito and Feroz)
2. There's more money in two other fights (Mosley and Winky)
3. PBF is an extremely dangerous fight for Oscar, especially for his farewell fight.
4. I think he'll more likely a) try to get the most money, and b) try to avenge some loses (Tito and Mosley)
So for DLH - PBF to happen, Tito needs to remain retired, Vargas needs to lose vs. Mosley, and Mosley needs to look like shit in beating Vargas.
In other words, not happening.
to say that PBF is an extremely dangerous, and who honestly thinks Mayorga wasnt?
PBF has yet to face a fighter like Oscar, but Oscar has faced fighters like mayweather , however I think Oscar's power would keep PBF at bay
This would be a good analysis but there's one problem. Oscar lost! You say that he's fought guys like Floyd but he looks like shit against them
Trinidad has it only from general peurto ricans really anymore. All the general fans who watched Tito saw him fight winky wright, and watched him get treated like a punching bag. PBF has a lot more pull then most of you give him credit for, a lot of general fans know him, and know hes the best there is right now. Why not see oscar vs the best?
It's not about which fight you or I would most like to see, but which is most likely and why. People will forget Tito-Winky in a heartbeat and sell out a DLH-Tito fight and buy the PPV. Forgetting for a moment which fight has more significance, which is obviously DLH-PBF, a DLH-Tito fight has a lot more to excite the casual fan. Revenge, national pride, KO potential, two legends near the end of long careers looking to settle the score after the controversial scoring of the first fight. It's got it all, even I can sell it. If DLH fights again, and I think he will assuming he heals well, they will offer Tito so much money he won't be able to refuse.
Even Mosley - Vargas did huge PPV numbers - 450,000 buys, and who really cared about that? DLH-Mayorga will surely top 500,000 when the numbers are announced.
PBF-Judah did only 350,000. Sorry, but the PPV numbers just aren't there yet for PBF.

Best Logic Ever

NOT :D
Hard core fans ALONE don't generate big PPV $$$. You have to get the casual fan to watch. DLH has it - PBF does not but is getting close.
Trinidad has more mojo than PBF and will make for an exciting fight. Plus there is the revenge factor, and Tito flat out has way more fans than PBF.

Oscar vs PBF is the biggest fight out there in terms of worth, and money being brought in. If It goes down I predict combined purse to break 50 mil o.O
even the most idiotic boxing fan knows pbf and what he can do in the ring

there have been an influx of really baseless, if not funny threads comin out lately, i really thought this was one of them... but i think morancito is quite serious in what he said :D
Hey, if you guys think DLH would make more money with PBF than Trinidad, despite Trinidad having a fanbase 10 times larger than Floyd, the Puerto Rico vs Mexico subplot, the revenge factor, and the fact that casual fans would be more attracted to Tito - DLH II, then more power to you.
Also, more power to those who think Mayweather could get 20 million fighting Goldie. Right.

why would someone believe in that little girl?
PBF is virtually unkown outside of hardcore boxing fans. Trinidad is a legend.
even the most idiotic boxing fan knows pbf and what he can do in the ring
it's just the right time to make dlh-pbf fight happen. if oscar is really up to making a legacy of his own... he should kick pfb's ass.
this is the perfect "legacy fight"
It would be good for boxing if DLH fought PBF - and PBF won. It's DLH's last fight, and boxing needs a new megastar to emerge. PBF should be that guy. It's a shame PBF has been protected and isn't there already. He is 29 and still hasn't had one defining fight.
For DLH, he doesn't need the money and is fighting for a legacy, and doesn't want to go out with a loss in his last fight. PBF seems a bit too risky. I'd say that right now someone is on the phone with Trinidad and offering him $10M for a fight at 154. DLH-Trinidad will generate more money than DLH-PBF. PBF is virtually unknown outside of hardcore boxing fans. Trinidad is a legend.
Hey Morancito, did you read the new Ron Borges article that Big Poppa put up. This is a quote from it: In the final days before he faced down Mayorga and in the hours immediately after, De La Hoya said he wasn't sure what he would do next. He understood that the world and those who pay him millions want him to square off with young Floyd Mayweather, Jr., who is widely perceived to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world, on Sept. 16. He has talked often about retiring with a fight on that day and if it were against Mayweather he knows it would shatter all his previous pay-per-view records. It would be the classic confrontation of Aging Lion and Young Gun and, if he wins, it would eliminate any thought of other opponents.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Another article by a different guy said:De la Hoya, now 33, has held world titles at six weights in what has been one of boxing's most glorious careers, and he insists that he has just one fight left - and he has picked Mayweather for 16 September. Mayweather is the International Boxing Federation welterweight champion, which means that the pair, who once seemed destined never to meet, are now separated by just 7lb in weight; there shall inevitably be a compromise because their superfight would generate a payday in excess of $25m (£13.4m) for each of them.
-----------------------------------------------------------
I told you the Mayweather fight would be as big or even bigger. Cant you see all the subplots and why casual fans would be more interested in this fight then the others? The 2nd guy just said that it would be 25mil for each. Now I dont think Oscar would split it with him but I could see Oscar getting 30 and Floyd 20

ill give you 8 million reasons why it will happen
Oscar has always fought the best around.
Im not a big fan of his, but i believe he is the one fighter who has fought every dangerous opponent he could have.
i respect your opinion and im not saying a trinidad or a vargas rematch wouldn't make money, but why would dlh fight vargas again? he already proved himself against him and vargas just lost to mosley. and pbf is quickly becoming one of the most recognized names in boxing. if that fight happens, that's gonna be the moneymaker.
Oscar doesn't need the money people. Oscar is still fighting because of his love for the sport and most importantly, his legacy. If Oscar wants to improve his already great legacy, he needs to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr.
he should fight PBF because of legacy, but if he wants money, DLH vs mosley 3 and tito 2 would bring in more money, i want to see DLH mosley 3 just to finish the trilogy, any non tito nuthugger knows DLH is superior to tito
