No link just a newspaper interview with Freddie Roach in Manila.
According to Freddie Roach, Erik Morales' camp is given until the 20th of this month to sign to honor the rematch clause between him and Manny Pacquiao. " If they don't sign the contract on the 20th, that is not going to happen ", says Roach. "Manny has got so many options right now, and one of them would be him and Marco Antonio Barerra. Obviously, Barrera holds the belt, he's been on a roll and he's been looking pretty good in recent fights."
hhhhmmmmm..... i smell something here...
Corrales is way big for Pacman. Pacman barely belongs at 130. But, I wouldn't be surprised if Pacman is able to beat Corrales after Castillo is through with him. Corrales has already shown the damage from Castillo and is about to get more.
if that comment was done by a pinoy, im sure there'll be like a couple of pages just flaming that :D
If Pac is dominant at 130, I would like to see him climb up to 135.
Key word is, "IF". Manny has only faced 2 guys at 130lbs. Hector and Morales. You can't nearly say he's dominant just yet. At least not without a rematching with Barrera at 130lbs. Besides, Manny needs to take on a younger guy for once. I'd like to see how he fairs against a hungry, stronger, and younger fighter. I mean he's done great beating 2 legends, though they don't get to legend status without putting themselves through hell. Thus, they have unbelievebly more miles on their body than Manny does. I wouldn't say their washed up yet, though they are far from what they used to be.
first off, that was funny.
Secondly....answer a damn question for me.
If Morales loses the next fight by knockout....just like he did the second one. Are you going to call him a pussy when he doesn't sign for the ninth fight?
In fact. I think this is a negative mark on Pac's behalf. He likes beating up on a Mexican who can't even defend himself and belongs in a fucking wheelchair.
How about Pac calls out Corrales at 135? Then let's see what's up.

It's lame for Morales to be asking for 2 extra lbs. Pacquiao is in control of the situation now and they have the upperhands at negotiating. While Morales and his team probably jeered in joy at the fact that Pacquiao won't be wearing Cleto Reyes in the 1st fight when they sneakily put it in a contract, now they got the nerve to try and force Manny to fight at 132lbs. It's just hypocritical to say the least.
Morales this time, is only here for a pay day. Sure, he'll give you the impression that he's doing his best when fight comes, but I just can't be convinced by the guy who said "I am tired of boxing anyways" after Pacquiao beat him up.
i think the ssue of the weight was already cleared, both camps agreed on separate interviews that its goin to be 130. for pac's camp its 130 or its a no.
i just dont know if bob arum was sincere in his words in making the fight in 130 because they might use it again as an excuse not to sign (among other things).
imo, i hope they dont sign anymore, coz the fight wont generate much interest and is no bigger than a pac-barrera 2.
That "decision" had Paq's mushroom head abused and bruised, lol it was a one sided fight.
8 rounds to 4 is the most you could have had that fight in favor of Morales. Not one-sided at all considering Pacquiao almost stopped him in the 12th round. Larry Merchant had it even. I think Lederman had at 116-112. The three judges had it 115-113. Not one-sided at all.
The only official nasty part of the first fight was in the last round when Morales tried to go southpaw, his stuborn ass wouldn't switch back..
But before that, Morales was force feeding that leather to Paq..
and Morales wasn't getting tagged? The only reason you think Pac got beat up is because of that cut on his right eye that was caused from a headbutt. Other than that, the punches thrown and landed was pretty even with Morales slightly ahead on numbers.
now let's talk about the 2nd fight. Pacquiao TKO Morales in Round 10 with 2 brutal knockdowns.
That "decision" had Paq's mushroom head abused and bruised, lol it was a one sided fight.
it was actually headbutt that did the damage to Pac's eye in the 1st fight. The fight was a close fight with Morales only ahead of 1 Round at the end of the night.
But it was pure punches that made Morales' mug look like a cast for the Ring 3 movie on the 2nd fight, and it was as one sided as ever.

I don't care if Morales loses or if he even fights. What I do mind is all the contractual bullshit. If a guy knocks me out after I beat him on points, give me time to rest, and sign me up for a rematch, because by God, the world will know who is the better man.
Morales is acting like a big pussy ever since he got knocked out. Either say no more or fight, but not inbetween. He keeps making demands when he's in no position to do so. Pacquiao is in the driver's seat here. Morales says he wants it at 132, well that's garbage. I've lost a lot of respect for El Terrible since he got knocked out, which is really ironic because I've always had the utmost respect for this guy. Same with Barrera until Pacquiao clobbered him. I'm telling you, Pacquiao turns men into little girls.
Oh yeah and to comment about this thread topic. Ya know, when it comes down to it, I don't think it's much with Erik Morales. It's more about Bob Arum competing with Golden Boy. They just don't want Golden Boy to jump in and steal the big money with a Barrera-Manny rematch. So they would probably sign the contracts, even just to stall. Then maybe a month or 2 before the fight, Erik pulls out with an injury or something just so Golden Boy Pro. couldn't jump in this year. Eitherway though, I don't think Erik can retire with this loss on his back just like that. He's gonna definitely want to rematch Manny and train harder than ever to get 1 win in another trilogy he's participating in.
Bob Arum is looking out for his fighter. He wants Morales to get the most of this situation. Morales has a chance to earn another $2 million to fight Pacquiao for the 3rd time. Why pass this opportunity up? It's not wether Morales want another beatdown. He's been there and he knows how it feels. This is just for money if anything. I don't see Morales staying in boxing much after this 3rd fight. Afterall, he did say "he was tired of boxing" after Pacquiao KOed him.
going up 23 pounds from title to title will be koo. dela hoya did 30
oscar has the build and the height. it's just a matter of putting more muscle on it. pac probably could go as far only as 135, he'll win some lose some. higher than that, his height deficit would be a huge vulnerability.

A fight against Castillo WILL NOT happen. Castillo is moving up to 140lbs after Corrales. He can barely make the weight already. Roach did say he would like to see a match against Corrales if he does go up to 135lbs. I dunno how that'll work out because Manny has been the smaller guy already in 130lbs. If he really wants to play the role of David, then go right ahead. I can only see him competing at 135lbs if his power does go up with him. It'll be his main asset because he's losing abit of speed each time he's gone up. He won't really have such a blinding straight left anymore. Corrale's chin is decent, I mean, he may go down, though he'll more than try to get up. And I could only see a hook putting Corrales down for good, not a straight punch. Would Manny get back up though? Hmmmm.
