lol, yeah I was so happy and made $150.00 bucks that night, we did numbers
Lol, a two for one! Got to see Mayo get spanked AND won some money, all at the same time....it dont get much better than that :D
Lol how can you have him winning a SD did you have 3 different score cards and score them differently?
LOL proof that cold is the biggest fucking idiot ever. how the fuck can you have a split decision
well welcome back since then, what did you think of it?
I thought "hahahahahahahahaha"! :D Good, funny stuff for sure. Maybe now Mayo will go back to fighting in the streets, where he's really dominant (and really belongs)
"Simply put, I really just don't like him," he said. " Personally I just don't like him on a personal level. Least on a professional level and I've always said that. You know, I've always had a disdain towards him and especially now that he's going to fight with me. So, you know, just to prove that and I'll repeat what I said before in prior interviews and in the press tour is I want to stop his heart - I not only want to stop him, I want to stop his heart or detach his retina, one of the two. I really want to do damage to him.
Is there a bigger pig or classLESS individual in the entire sport of boxing? Damn, I hope Oscar makes him look like a fool.
don't worry..he will

mayorga's taking this fight and maybe even by decision
he'll impress the judges with agression and have oscar unsteady early- take those rounds
lose some middle rounds
then take the last 2
although ko oscar early could happen but i think mayo coul win this on the cards
regardless mayo's winning this fight

Predictions:
TK Stewart - The more I think about this fight, the more I like Ricardo Mayorga's chances.
The bottom line is that Oscar De La Hoya will have been off for 19 months once the bell sounds to start round one. Oscar isn't getting any younger at age 33, and 154 pounds has never been his proper weight.
In my opinion, Oscar hasn't scored a win since he beat the hapless Yory Boy Campas three years ago in May 2003 ( I thought De La Hoya lost to Felix Sturm). Add to that the fact that De La Hoya is coming off the knockout loss to Hopkins and none of this looks good.
This fight reminds me a little bit of when Ray Leonard fought Terry Norris: An aging, highly successful, former multi-weight champion, coming off a long lay-off and dropping down in weight to take on a lesser known, decent puncher for the WBC Super Welterweight title. Leonard was 34 when he faced Norris and De La Hoya is 33. Mayorga is the current WBC champion just like Norris was at the time. De La Hoya has a record of 37-4 and Leonard had a record of 36-1-1. Leonard was a heavy favorite just as De La Hoya is against Mayorga. Both are also Olympic Gold Medal winners. There are many similarities between the two fights.
I think Mayorga has a great chance at an upset here. He is clearly in magnificent physical condition and I think, mentally, he's also very prepared for this challenge. Oscar hasn't looked good to me since his win over Fernando Vargas. Prizefighting is something that cannot be done part-time and for the last several years Oscar has only been a part time fighter. I like Mayorga to stop Oscar somewhere around the eighth or ninth round.
Mayorga by KO.
Adam Pollack - I'm going with Mayorga. The layoff, the gradual loss of sharpness even before the layoff, and going up against a hard punching very tough guy with underrated speed might be a bit more than Oscar can deal with at this stage.
Mayorga by decision
Dr. Peter Edwards – I can’t see De La Hoya coming back strong after appearing to lose his last two bouts and being off for nearly 2 years. Mayorga is confident, wild and set on tearing Oscar apart. I see the upset happening in Las Vegas.
Mayorga by KO.
Jacquie Richardson - De La Hoya is the better boxer, but if someone like Hopkins can lay him out with one shot, Mayorga might also get lucky with a KO blow. In fact, he will be looking for Oscar's liver. If it goes beyond round 5, I will give it to Oscar. If Mayorga doesn't get lucky early, it’s not going to happen.
Mayorga by an early KO.
ANTONIO “THE MAGIC MAN” TARVER—Light heavyweight champion
PREDICTION—MAYORGA
VIEW— "I truly believe Mayorga has a good chance. Oscar has been inactive and I think he’s trying to do the Trinidad blueprint – come back and get a win over a credible guy. But I don’t think De La Hoya has that kind of punching power. He has the speed and quickness to outbox Mayorga, but I think Mayorga is going to put pressure on him and he’s got that wild side – no matter how bad he’s being beat, he’s trying to knock your head off and he won’t quit. De La Hoya’s not used to that pressure. I think Mayorga coming in as an underdog is a good bet. I like Mayorga in an upset."
SERGEI “WHITE WOLF” LIAKHOVICH—WBO Heavyweight Champion of the World
PREDICTION—MAYORGA 9TH ROUND KO
VIEW—“I'm expecting this be a tough match for both fighters. My feeling is that if Mayorga can land power shots, I favor him. If it goes to the judges, I would favor Oscar.”
LUIS COLLAZO—WBA Welterweight Champion
PREDICTION—MAYORGA, 10TH ROUND KO FROM A BODYSHOT
VIEW: “De La Hoya's style has changed for the worse since he started training with Floyd Mayweather Sr. He doesn't move and throw combinations the way he used to. Mentally, I see Mayorga getting stronger and stronger, and if Oscar hasn't got it yet, he's gonna get it on May 6. Mayorga fights better against people he truly dislikes, and he doesn't like Oscar at all. I see Mayorga breaking him down with pressure and body work. When Mayorga hits him right on the nose, let's see how De La Hoya responds to that. My guess is, he's not going to like that."

2 million (come on $2,000,000.00) sounds pretty fair to me but Mayorga place a large wager on yourself and win.
Maybe a bonus should be given to you for winning.
Also the following fights when you win will be higher paydays. Mayorga you can be the greatest just keep winning.
And remember :boxing: is forever and $$$ are here today and gone tomorrow.
Mayorga deserves fights with Mayweather and Trinidad after he beats Oscar.

Status: WBC super welterweight champion will battle Oscar De La Hoya on May 6 in what many expect to be the most dramatic fight of the year.

"I can't see how anyone can stand up to what intensity I bring to the ring with me."
Born On: Oct. 3, 1973 In: Managua, Nicaragua
Childhood Heroes: "My mother and father because they worked so hard to raise our family."
Hobbies/Interests: "I like speed. I like everything fast, especially cars. I enjoy drag racing."
Favorite Meal: "I love chicken, made any way ... fricasee, fried, smothered, grilled, barbecued or roasted."
Favorite Ice Cream: "I love good vanilla ice cream."
Favorite Movies: "I like many kinds of movies, mostly action movies. I like Sylvester Stallone, he played a lot of good roles like Rocky and Rambo."
Musical Tastes: "I love salsa music. I really liked Celia Cruz, who passed away. She was great."
Childhood Dreams: "To be able to help get my family a better life. Life was so hard here in Nicaragua. I'm helping my small town get electricity. So that is part of my dream -- to help people."
First Job: "Selling bread in our family bakery. It was hard work in the bakery and long hours, but we did it to survive."
First Car: "A broken down, old Chevy. I would keep tinkering with it just to keep it on the road."
Early Boxing Memory: "Watching Roberto Duran, Muhammad Ali and a little later, Sugar Ray Leonard. Of course, we all looked up to our countryman Alexis Arguello.
Pre-Fight Feeling: "I just think positive. I'm a very confident person. I can't see how anyone can stand up to what intensity I bring to the ring with me."
Pre-Fight Meal: "I might have some chicken with rice and maybe steamed vegetables. But not something difficult to digest like corn and fried chicken. I drink plenty of water though. (Do you really smoke that much?) Yes, I smoke a lot, but I also run a lot, box a lot and train a lot. If you noticed in the second Forrest fight, I was almost as strong as I was in round one."
Greatest Sports Moment: "The night I met Don King in Venezuela at the 'KO Drug Games,' sponsored by the WBA. I was fighting an undefeated Venezuelan fighter (15-0 Adolfo Salazar in Turmero, VZ in December 2000). It was a fight I took at the last moment. I knocked him out in the first round for the FEDELATIN title. And Don King was there and was impressed enough to sign me that night.
I had one fight with DKP (TKO 3 Elias Cruz in Las Vegas, Feb. 2001) and then was in for the world title with Andrew Lewis (five months later in June 2001). Another great moment was having both of my parents there to watch me win the unified world championship by knocking out Vernon Forrest in California. They had never been there together to watch me fight before and that meant a lot."
Most Painful Moment: "When Tito (Trinidad) beat me. I cried inside. My heart was really heavy. My ego was on the floor. But after I knock out De La Hoya, I'm gonna make Tito an offer, to see if he comes out of retirement. I want him again. And I ain't gonna come unprepared for the fight, because I underestimated Tito. I only trained 28 days for that fight. I won't make that second mistake again. I've been training already since February. I have dedicated three months for this fight. Watch me now."
Embarrassing Boxing Memory: "Having the first Andrew Lewis fight stopped because of an unintentional headbutt early in the fight. I just knew I was going to knock him out, but he got cut and I couldn't finish it. I got him in the rematch though."
Worst Injury: "Training for the first Andrew Lewis fight. I caught a thumb in the eye training and I couldn't spar for about ten days leading into the fight. I was very worried that I wouldn't be in top form. But it wasn't the case."
Favorite Boxers To Watch: "I loved watching Roberto Duran and, later, Sugar Ray Leonard. Their fight in Montreal (in 1980) was such a great fight. Both men showed great determination, skill and strength."
Favorite Vacation Spot: "Hey, I don't really vacation. But when I'm in Managua -- that's my world. I love being there."
People Qualities Most Admired: "I like people who shoot straight and tell the truth. Like Don King -- has always done what he said he would. He also relates to the common people too. That's what I always try to do."
Funny Boxing Memory: "I laugh about it now, but then it wasn't funny. When I would come off the street to take a fight. Just because I needed some money to eat. I would really take a fight the day of the event ... even if I wasn't training. Just to fight. In thinking back on it, I realize that I probably would not have lost had it not been for me taking fights on just a day or two notice. And sometimes no notice ."
i hope i'm not alone here, and don't think i am, but i can't wait for this fight. absolutely perfect matchup. but i lost so much respect for mayorga with the, pardon my language, shit he was talking about oscar's wife and family and so on. trying to sell the fight, piss off oscar, whatever, he went pretty overboard. and oscar will make him pay i think. he's gonna fight like the golden boy again, and i'm picking de la hoya with a 10th round ko. i know about mayorga's chin, but oscar will keep pouring it on and on and just see a huge spurt when he sees mayorga starting to wane just a bit in the 10th.
the only way i see mayorga winning this fight if if he rushes oscar in the beggining and lands somthing big while oscar is still trying to get the rust out. the longer the fight goes, the more it will go in oscar's favor i think.
Mayorga Beats DeLaHoya and I think by KO. :boxing:
Why do you always pick the unlikely guy to win every time. You can't honestly truly think that the underdog is going to win every fight?

The next great Star in Boxing.
"Despite everything I told him and despite all the insults that we traded, I still don't think he's man enough to stand in front of me, honestly," Mayorga said this week. "You know, regardless, it's still going to be the same result, like I said before, I'm going to knock him out.
"Oscar doesn't have sufficient balls to stand there and even try and do that and that it's not going to be the same result. Trinidad is a way better fighter than Oscar is and I'm going to prove that on May 6."
Mayorga's outrageousness and destructive power inside the ring, which he showed against Lewis and Vernon Forrest, has allowed him to retain his popularity despite disappointing losses to Cory Spinks and Felix Trinidad.
"My fight against Trinidad," explained Mayorga, "was one bad night that I had and it's one bad night that I never had in my career to be honest with you and it won't repeat itself. I'm making sure that it's not going to repeat itself."
While Don King loves working with Mayorga, the Hall of Fame promoter knows that his fighter has his faults.
"He's a guy that is a joy to promote," he said. "You know what I mean? Not only does he talk the talk, he walks the walk. His only Achilles heel is that he don't train. Alright, and so he knows this, but he's dependent upon his power so much that he figured that he don't have to train because once he hit a guy, he going to put him to sleep. Once we can dissuade him and disabuse him of that, which he has done on this Oscar De La Hoya camp. If he continues to train like that, you'll have one of the most phenomenal fighters in history with Ricardo Mayorga. He only beats himself because he feels that he just relies and depends upon his power."
A win over De La Hoya would be the most impressive of Mayorga's career and would reinstate his boxing reputation to some extent.
"Hopefully I expect to see the best out of Oscar," said Mayorga. "I don't expect for him to be like he was 10 years ago, but you know, I take that in stride. At the same time, I do expect him to come out and start boxing me, but I'm well prepared for that.
"It doesn't matter to be if he wants to come out boxing using distance. I've been working on cutting the distance short, keeping close and basically I'm going to prove my general ringmanship that night. He goes, 'I'm going to be the one dictating the pace of the fight'. I'm going to be the one dictating how many blows he's going to throw, how many blows I'm going to throw. So, it doesn't bother me at all. It's going to be the same result."
Asked to explain his intense dislike of De La Hoya, Mayorga answered in his own unique way.
"Like I said before, just like when you go back to the school yard, you know, there's a kid that you never met once in your life. You see him, you know, you've never spoken to the kid, but you just don't like him. That's the best analogy I can use. I just don't like him. You know, simply put, I just don't like him. There's really no explanation behind it."
While the smoking, drinking, women, out of the ring fights and car drag racing have taken much focus away from Mayorga's boxing career, Don King knows a media magnet and ring talent when he sees one.
"I'm looking at Ricardo as the next brilliant star in the sport of boxing," he said. "And so, a couple weeks the rest of the world will believe that too. And then we got to just keep him going to make him stay training like he has been for this fight to continue to train like that for every fight and then when he's off, he's having the fun. But when he's in camp, stay in camp and stay dedicated and committed."
Not that will be easy for King when it is the one and only Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga involved.

Mayorga a breath of fresh air
People who reckon boxing is devoid of characters these days would do well to spend some quality time with Ricardo Mayorga.
The Nicaraguan, who goes in with 'Golden Boy' of the fight game Oscar De La Hoya on May 6, was once dubbed 'The craziest man in sport' by Ring Magazine.
The former WBA and WBC welterweight and current WBC light-middleweight champion, who admits to smoking two packets of cigarettes a day, is what my old PE teacher might deem a "loose cannon".
'El Matador' infamously swigs down beer and eats pizza and chicken legs when weighing in for fights, showing a tongue-in-cheek contempt for his opponents and the niceties of the sport in general.
He was a 6/1 betting underdog ahead of his fight with Vernon Forrest back in 2003, the year he really burst onto the world stage proper with an inimitable swagger.
But that didn't stop him bragging before the fight: "I will give him a whipping. Not even his dog will recognize him when he gets home."
When not fighting or making threats to his opponents, he likes nothing more than drag racing in the streets of his homeland, a pastime that is illegal in Nicaragua.
Yet behind the outlandish bravado and wild antics, there stands a boxer who can really fight.
He can look crude and is not the most stylish fighter ever to lace up a glove, but he loves a tear up and fights like an alley-cat in there.
He also has one of the best chins in boxing, and I still cringe when I remember the night he kept inviting Felix Trinidad, regarded as one of the hardest punchers in the sport 'pound-for-pound', to blast away at his chin as he held it out like a lantern and mocked the Puerto Rican.
Few are giving him a chance against De La Hoya, but the 'Golden Boy' may not truly be in love with the sport anymore and an upset is certainly possible.
De La Hoya, boxing's main draw outside of the heavyweight division, has been inactive since September of 2004 and will certainly be rusty.
With his promotional interests and talk of a farewell fight in September, he could also be taking his eye off Mayorga, who infamously slapped his Mexican-American rival across the face during a recent press conference.
Mayorga is certainly talking a good fight.
When asked how his preparations are going for the bout, the 28-5-1 (23) pride from Managu nonchalantly replied: "I don't have to prepare mentally all that much for this match because I'm always ready to fight.
"That's what I am, a Nicaraguan street fighter. Oscar is the one that needs to prepare mentally to face me."
There is genuine animosity between the fighters, who are polar opposites in terms of appearance and the way they live outside the ring.
Mayorga has a devil may care attitude to his life and hs career it would seem, and he has had to fight tooth and nail to get where he is in the sport.
In contrast De La Hoya, the TV executives darling, has been a draw ever since his gold medal display at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics (he turned pro amid a media frenzy soon after).
He is also a happily married family man these days who spends more time in a suit and tie than in a pair of boxing boots.
He is everything Mayorga is not, something that the Nicaraguan it seems is using as motivation for the bout.
"Most people don't understand that of all the fighters in boxing, Oscar is the one I like least. He's a pretty boy and it makes me want to defeat him.
"I have been sparring with live chickens as they emulate 'chicken' De La Hoya best. They run just like he does."
When pressed as to how he sees the fight going, Mayorga said: "Oscar's washed up. He is crazy to think he can try to stand up in front of me and take the punishment I will deliver. He was great at one time but logic and Mother Nature tell you he's washed up now.
"I don't want to leave the decision up to the judges so I'm going to knock him out before the sixth round."
Whether or not he can back up his boasts in Las Vegas on May 6 remains to be seen, but I for one wouldn't be totally surprised to see a cigar-chomping, pizza-munching, beer-swilling Nicaraguan celebrating long into the night in the 'City of Sin' in early May.
http://www.hboppv.com/features/bios/img/mayorga_520.jpg
on the hbo website there is a poll and most of the people said dlh by ko!!! i think oscar will win a decision but he would have to bring a baseball bat to knock mayorga out. it just goes to show that big names make a big difference to people who enjoy watching boxing but dont understand it.
The following characteristics are not politically correct but are part of the twisted appeal that Mayorga has as a fighter. Come on this is pure aggression and I like it. Just as Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has nationalistic appeal to the Iranian people so Mayorga has the same appeal to all the trash talkers and instigaters wanting an all out brawl.
http://media3.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/photo/2006/04/30/PH2006043000310.jpg
Oh ya and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wouldn't last a single round with Mayorga except for Mahmoud might bring a nuke into the ring with him and Mayorgas cigarette would have a hard time competing.
http://www.braggingrightscorner.com/mayorgasmokes.jpg
"No fighter has shown more hatred toward other human beings than Mayorga. He has gone after Oscar in many ways to prove his bigotry. He has berated Oscar's Mexican heritage (ethnic prejudice), questioned his sexual orientation (homophobia) and has even made derogatory statements about his wife (sexism).
It should have stopped there, but Mayorga chose to continue. He physically assaulted Oscar during a press conference -- hitting him behind the head -- and disrespected his deceased mother. Mayorga's morally debased behavior knows no bounds."- FRANKLIN McNEIL :boxing:
i was just telling my man that dlh still has it. he said that he hasnt won a fight since the tito fight which he won. he beat mosley the second time and messed up vargas. but like i said vargas is to proud to say that dlh wasnt going to finish him if they ref didnt step in. dlh is going to win this fight.
