Hey Guys jst set this lil Fourm up to say "hello"
Am 19 from Tampa Bay Florida started boxing when i was 6 with my dad whos a trainer in my local Gym in his spair time, and as some ppl will know its a gift and a curse having your dad as your trainer lol,
Ive already had 14 amature bouts at Middleweight (14-0)but i know theirs still lots off inprovment to make in many parts off my game,
jst interested to see if theirs any other trainer & boxers out their 2 give me some advice on many aspects off my training and style, see if some off uz oldschool heads got some advice for me yano weakness, where i can improve,
P.S where can u place my amature boxing fights on this site?
Peace Out!
Its also hard to get alot of fights during 14-18 because of high school im putting my education first and making sure i get that first instead of rushing ahead thinking i'l make it big and fuck up and have nothing to fall back on
New Amature Boxer
Dude I'm not bagging on you and not trying to start an e-war but something isn't right. You say you started boxing when you were 6 and you're 19 now. With only 14 fights something isnt right Thats like a fight a year. If you started when you were 6 you should have atleast 100-200 fights. And if your dad is a trainer at a gym he should have never let you be that inactive. Maybe you just trained on and off but something isnt right.
But atleast you dont have Hoskins disease. Its were an ametuer boxer has one fight and thinks they're god. So you're 13 fights past that point so you may turn out all right
"Hoskins Disease" that is hilarious is that the disease you catch by taking pictures fo yourself with a webcam and posting on boxingscene?

What weight is Middleweight in the amateurs? 156 pounds?
Place your amateur fights in the Training & Nutrition section, you will get much more solid feedback than from here and there are many more boxers there than on this section.
Your talking of turning pro after only 16 fights? Shit, I know a whole bunch of kids who had 16 fights before they were 10 years old. When those kids do turn pro they will probably have over 100 bouts under their belts. You run into one of them in the pro ring and you are most likely going to get your ass handed to you hard.
What is it with these people. They think that the pros are anything like the amatuers. They are not. I have people almost daily talking shit about turning pro and they have a handfull of fights. I tell them, once you go pro you can never go back. If you guys were to turn pro at 23, which is in no way to late, you could atleast get some experience in the amatuers. Alot of people think that the amatuers dont groom you for the pros, to them I tell them that they dont know shit. I would much rather turn pro at 23 with 50 or 60 fights behind me than turn pro at 19 with 15.
If you guys do turn pro that early give me your phone numbers. Im sure that the meat wagon would likely be interested in getting in touch with you.
Take your time and learn your craft. Like I said, once you go pro you cant go back. The amatuers are about learning the techniques and skills of the sport. The pros are about straight out damage. Think long and hard before you sign your first contract to fight. Its like night and day.

I understand what your saying and that does apply to most fighters but my friend i live and breath for boxing anythign that involves boxing im there, in it, or watching it... I have studied boxing like school kids study histroy, maybe not the history of boxing but the technique the skills and the grace of the greatest fighters..... As petty as it may sound im ready to turn pro now! but will give myself the benfit of the doubt that 15 more fights will be better for me and thats what i plan on doing unless a big opportunity arises for me, such as golden gloves or even the olympics... honestly man i believe im that good!
ROCKIN1 as i stated in my last message "i know 4 sur i would not turn pro until at least 40 at least bouts, it would be crazy off me 2 do otherwise" like ive said before i never said anythink about moving up after 14 bouts yer ive won more or less every round off each fight but i know theirs always some1 better than me out their THTs 100% fact. i only set this up 2 get advice not to be told "ill get my ass kikcd if i move up2 pro after 14 bouts" ive got skill but u all know its not all about "Skill" u need tht experenice off amature when uve gotta DIG out results in harder matchs v guys who know how 2 fight,
what about tough man contest would that be a good way to get a look at what it's like in the ring ?
Ya of course it can my friend!
And FLOYD ya fight a few more fights man, i have 1 fight and plan on fighting atleast 15 more and turning pro, if your 14-o that means something and by stayin amateur for 25+ fight and turing pro at say 24-25 whats the fun in that, the younger you are the more youll learn and amateur boxing can only teach you so much!
Yeah i agree with a few points you make their, 14 fights at my age ant really what u would class as "busy", i would have been up2 around a cool 30 but many off my bouts where canceld or weight problems came into afect with my opponents, ive been told many a time in my gym by respected boxers in my area that i could turn pro but ive always thought different due to my amature numbers (14). i know 4 sur i would not turn pro untill at least 40 at least bouts, it would be crazy off me 2 do otherwise.
That advice will get you hurt, 14 fights is very little man. Take your time, maybe visit the pal nationals and if you do very well then maybe consider the pros. Other wise stay in school.
