Why didn't Wlad collapse in round 5 of the fight with Byrd?

wlad lost to brewster face it but yeah he didnt to byrd he beat down byrd big time haters face it wlad might not get to try avenging that loss to brewster unless brewster can get back in the win column now that he just got lia-pwnage

Yeah, I think he was referring to the stamina issue and not necessarily insinuating there was foul play involved. no one is talkin about his chin dummy,,were talking about stamina,,,,just why he got so gassed so quickly and it never happened before. he lost the sanders fight becuz he got bombed out. with brewster it was all his,,until he just seemed to totally run out of gas and couldnt keep his arms up. was strange. maybe it was nerves plus too many power shots. who knows for sure Watch the fight Dummy, he comes out in a bad rush to finish Sanders early, throwing all kinds of bombs and drops his hands after repeated flurries. His hands are round his waist and he gets clocked. If you'd ever laced up a set of gloves you would know that it is possible to get gassed out after just a few rounds if you get tense and start throwing wildly. It looks like Manny Steward has worked with him on pacing himself thoughout the round so hopefully we won't see it again.

He did get gassed in that fight. The fight was in his hometown of Kiev and he wanted to look impressive. I guess you can say he tried too hard and underestimated Purrity's chin. yes,,he was tired,,,but that was in the 10th round of a fight at a point in his career where he hadnt been past the 6th,,,so it was pretty normal

it is not like Wlad has a history of anexiety attacks One doesn't have to have a history of panic attacks to suffer one. All the variables were there; he went after Brewster with a fervor to regain his honor and prove the Sanders loss was a fluke. All it takes is a little self-doubt, like a guy taking your best punches and firing back with hard stuff of his own. All it would take would be Wlad envisioning himself losing all over again in front of a world-wide audience. Plus, he did himself no favors in expending all that energy. I think a Panic or Anxiety Attack is very plausible under the circumstances and, as I stated earlier...that's what I think happened. The mind is a powerful thing...both good and bad, which is why it has been said that boxing is 90% mental.

The question remains, why was he so gassed out? If you're referring to the Brewster fight...pure and simply...Wlad had a panic attack, IMHO. After the Sanders disaster, the pressure was on for him to show he was back and show it strong, so he came out looking for a knock-out of Brewster, who wasn't respected at the time. And he beat on Lamon and beat on him and Lamon, while rocked and dropped by the end of 4, wasn't going anywhere. Wlad, being exhausted from such a high punch output culminated his problems with the pressure of the event and the fact that Lamon started nailing him and was standing up to his best shots. There was no poison, except in Wlad's mind and Brewster's fists. Panic-Attack + Punching Oneself Out= self kayo.

Yeah he got KO'd, I don't think he would have gone down if he hadn't gassed though. The question remains, why was he so gassed out?
