pardon my french - but who gives a shit if he's "smart". smart fighters don't end up as the true greats of an era. floyd is cheating boxing fans by not taking this bout. if he takes the fight with dlh, it also adds nothing to his legacy. he's a smart businessman, but he's got all of the money in the world right now. it's time to fight for glory. DLH lost 2 out of his last 3 fights, and the Sturm win was a gift, so he's really faded and way past his prime. Probably he can still beat Mayorga who is not and never was an elite level fighter. Do I blame PBF for looking for the biggest $$$'s for the least risk? Of course not, but I don't respect it and it's not what any boxing fan should wish for. What's more exciting - watching Floyd count his money or watching Floyd fight the top contenders? If you can't figure that out, maybe televised golf is more your game.

With a De La Hoya fight a possabilty and chance to rest his injured hand. Mayweather made the smart move. Mayweather-De La Hoya is a better fight than Mayweather-Margarito. If De La Hoya loses against Mayorga. Than that fight won't happen. And Mayweather will move to fight Margarito. And he'll be 100% for the fight. So there will be no excuses, if he were for some miracle lose the fight. People just need patience. It's not like the fight was going to happen right away, anyway.
