MERCHANT:
Emanuel you, saw how easily he handled Byrd in their first fight. Did you have concerns coming into the fight. And how did you plan to deal with him this time?
STEWARD:
I know Byrd was trying to be more aggressive in the beginning. The trick was to keep his left hand in an extended position instead of bringing it back. Byrd, spent most of the fight trying to get out of the way of the left extended arm, he never caught a right hand.
MERCHANT:
Did you think that in the last fight people thought you dragged Wladimir across the finish line. Was it more Wladimir tonight? Because the it looked that way.
STEWARD:
Yeah, it was Wladimir on his own. You have got to remember the last two fights were undefeated fighters. So people know he is the best heavyweight out there.
MERCHANT:
Who do you think he should fight next?
Wladimir at 30. Can he become the champion that he was? STEWARD:
He told me he wants to fight 29 fights -- wants to unify the title because he really wants to fight another champion. If not, there has been talk about him fighting, another one for a best fight.
------------------------------------------------------------
I suppose he plans to retire at 40, fighting 3 fights a year...
This means that he will have about 90 fights in total when he retires... Currently, he has 49 fights on his record.
1. Castillo was hit with about ten jabs, and a couple of hooks and was running away the entire fight. The first right hand Wladimir landed knocked him out. I repeat....the first right hand he landed sent Castillo disco dancing.
2. The entire fight with Mcline was a sleeper. He woke up, and knocked Mcline to the canvas...finishing him with a straight right hand after the jab.
3. The punches that put Mercer on the canvas were all right hands. He couldn't see the right hand with the left hand extended....just like Steward said when he fought Byrd.
4. The right hand was the predominant punch that led to Brewster being on the canvas twice, and was the leading cause of Peter's face being swollen in their fight.
5. Monte Barret went to the canvas five or six times....I forgot how many. Either way, the straight right hand was the leading cause of all of those knockdowns.
6. 1 right hand knocked Wolfgramm and Moli out smooth
7. What was the punch that almost tore Derrick Jefferson's head off...and he was so unconscious that he though he was a PGA tour golf player in the wrong sport? yeah I thought so.
This is fucking ridiculous and it doesn't even deserve an arguement.
Impressive on the right hands, but against Mercer it was the left hook that sent him to the canvas in the first, and a combo of the jab/righ hand that TKOed him at the end.
First knockdown in the Monte Barret fight was off a quick left hook in the first round.
His left hook is even more deadly than his right if he gets it off like he wants to. Although the right hand is his money shot.
You'll have to settle for tying with me for that honor. Seeing Wlad utterly destroy James Toney is like a boxing version of a wet dream for me. I feel like it has to happen, for all the talking Toney's done. Someone has to shut that mouth and knock him the fuck out, and Wlad is the guy to do it.
.....Watching all the lying losers on here try to spin that shit will be utterly priceless. Well um Toney's age caught up to him, he came in out of shape, he was 2 cheesburgers heavier than he was in his last fight, Wlad kept punching him too much, etc. etc.
...Watching Wlad dispose of Toney would be a dream come true. It would be a fitting end to his journey as heavyweight pretender. If this fight is made I will be the happiest boxing fan around the scene.

i wonder if wlad would be able to be respectful of toney??? wlad is a classy guy but he has to have a breaking point. you know toney will be talking all kinds of shit about him if the matchup gets made
toney/wlad matchup might be good just cause wed get to see some fire from wlad in the press conference. imagine wlad tellin toney "i will stomp your fat ass and send it back to america 3rd class"
lol,,,that would make for some interesting press confs. I doubt wlad would show up for any. toney would probably embarrass him. classy people dont like hearing that crap
He aint fightin thirty fights. He has already had a lot of fights for a heavyweight at his age. I hope he fights Toney next. Someone has to shut him up.
I hope he doesn't fight Toney next! Toney has done nothing to deserve the numerous title shots that he has keeps getting and squandering.(NC, Draw)
Besides, doesn't the majority of boxing fans want to see unification in the heavyweight division right now?

+1. I would love to see Wlad pick apart then destroy that fat-assed loudmouth. He'll have to drag him out of McDonalds first.

im just not interested in a fight between toney and anybody right now. hopefully a matchup with brock gets made, id at least like to see an unknown commodity be tested instead of waiting 4 months to see a fat sloppy toney stumble around the ring.
i wonder if wlad would fight igbraminov after the way he got nailed by the southpaw sanders?
does anyone think there is a possibility he takes a short notice keep busy fight? hes really in a bad position as far as scheduling. right now he is waiting on everyone else, he should stay busy in the meantime. if the fight is in germany it dont matter who it is against, it will make money.
i would loveto watch a fight between wlad and sutlan, however i dont think sultans deserves it.
brock would be nice to
I think his next fight will be against either Brock or Toney.

Do you guys think Wlad intends to build his fan base here by taking on all the American heavies he can find, or will he focus on making superfights in Europe? If he takes the first route he should call out Toney, Brock, and eventually Rahman will come.
I think his next fight will be against either Brock or Toney.

lmao,,,,,the boxing public knows wlad has a big right hand,,,,,either your a wlad hater or your just moronic. I have a feeling its both.
....It's funny because by the way he described Wlad after watching the Byrd fight is like he has never seen him fight before. Just because Wlad has the best jab in boxing, that does not mean he is a converted southpaw. Also, if this guy had seen Wlad box before he would know that his right is his money/lights out punch.
7. What was the punch that almost tore Derrick Jefferson's head off...and he was so unconscious that he though he was a PGA tour golf player in the wrong sport? yeah I thought so.
This is fucking ridiculous and it doesn't even deserve an arguement.
i have never seen the jefferson fight, im guessing i should check that one out. ive been looking for a good career set but i wanted to wait awhile hoping i could get the latest byrd fight included
how many other guys have planted chris byrd straight back onto his ass with a straight right hand? the first KD in klit/byrd looked like the second KD in the tyson/spinks fight. tyson as i recall got mad props for impressively knocking out what truly was a blown up light heavyweight.

even if hes not converted he fights exactly like a converted fighter he might not even know hes converted.his right hand lacks power obviosly his strong hand is his left. thats why his combos are smooth . its a catch 22.. his longevity will be nowhere near lewis. if sam peter improves witch is probable he will probably beat wlad even tho hes garbage just big fast and strong.
youre right about one thing, wlad can knock all these bums out with his all powerful jab.
Right hand lacks power? Are you on acid?

if he had a big right hand he could but his best hand is his left. id say about 12 fights. when fighter have a big right hand like lewis hearns archie moore they can fight for a long time lewis could still be fighting if he wanted it and was hungry... fighers whos best hand is in the front dont last as long.. frazier tyson barerra hagler michael moore delahoya its seems like the converted southpaws are better when young but whne they get older they dont have that power back hand.. tyson fought for a awhile and was successful cuz he turned into a swarmer and physically peerless.

lol,,,,dude your a moron. he's not a converted southpaw and looks nothing like one. are you done making yourself look stupid?
