Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins are about to find out how risky it can be as a boxing promoter. They are about to make their first BIG loss. Going toe-to-toe against Cotto-Malignaggi in a PPV showdown makes no sense whatsoever and will only cost them millions of dollars. Neither Bernard Hopkins nor Antonio Tarver have a big fan base largely because they are boring in the ring. It doesn't matter how good they are, they fans don't like them. Quite honestly I would rather watch two up and coming young guys who are likely to put on a great show.
They are both dog shit PPV events and with that said I will buy both of them because Im a crack addict...I have never bought two PPV's on the same night so it will be a day for the record books in my house...cant wait to see my wife's reaction when she gets the cable bill.
lol.
I think the cotto card will just be better.
Deep down you all know the GBP card will not be worth it,admit it.If youre ordering both I can understand that,a fights a fight
The cotto card shouldnt be a PPV, and it was never meant to be,but at least we get some more televised fights out of it.
Isnt bobby pac fighting on the cotto card? haha,I guess we know which one the pinoys are buying.
Both slow starters. Hopkins is considered a HUGE Underdog in this fight, but something tells me he might pull out a decision and retire (And I dont like Hopkins at all)
I agree, though i like hopkins, i'm def. putting a little money on Hopkins because honestly i can see him pulling out this fight and retiring in a similar scenario as you see it..
and personally, i'm happy to see either of these fights, (i'll catch both for sure), but there's no doubt that Hopkins-Tarver will put up the better numbers EASILY, regardless of which matchup is actually better, it's all about promotion
I Would Rather Watch Hopkins Roy Jones And Tarver Toney In The Same Card Then Ill Buy Because Tarver Hopkins Doesnt Have Any Meaning Cotto Is Goning To Stomp On Magic Man In 6 Rounds Tops
Cotto vs Malignaggi is on PPV? That's a load of crap. I thought it was just on HBO. They're screwing the fans by doing this, because they'll have to choose instead of being able to watch both.
Aren't these both HBO fights? Why would they stage two PPV's on the same night? it makes no sense.
Are they going to have different start times? Exactly how are they going to pull this off?

No I just like mine to be skilled.
They maybe skilled but they are also REALLY lazy. That doesnt make for a good fight. Especially since Tarver constantly underachieves.
I'm going to be watching Hopkins/Tarver. Given the two, I think it is a pretty easy choice.
.....hmmmmm.....people around here like their boxers to be geriatric.

Tarver v Hopkins will probably double cotto v paulie.
