We have a saddest moment in the ring thread...so i thought i'd counter with great moments of goodness.
mine was when Tyson Ko'd a boxer (cant remember the other fighters name) ref stops the fight... straight away while the fighter is still dazed lying down Tyson walked over to the fighter and picked him up off the canvas...it was a real nice gesture of respect
emanuel augustus vs ray oliveria, fucking pure class, EA had no idea whats wrong with ray so what does he do, he doesnt throw a freaking head punch for the entire round and takes some shots just not to hurt ray anymore,
What so amazing about that fight is when Emanuel wasnt punching ray in the head anymore b/c he new their was a problem so he just went to the body.I still think about that fight I was scared to death I was yelling like it was one of my kids in their.
Ward and Gatti in their post-fight interview following their first fight.
Zab Judah (against Cory Spinks), Glencoffe Johnson (against George Jones) and Emanuel Augustus (against Ray Oliveira) showing concern and asking their refs to stop their fights.
those are some of the best except zab he just let the punk in him take a back seat for a minute the other two are truely humble men as far as I know. I Also think VK vs Williams was a good one after the fight because VK was truely giveing props to williams not this bulshit of I one so now I can be nice to the guy. VK was like damb you are a tough SOB. MAB vs Pauli and Marciono vs Louis you could tell that it emotonaly hurt both winners to win their fights.

Glen Johnson against George Jones, Glen had him up against the ropes beating his ass and he gestures to the ref to stop the fight and thankfully the ref did. In the post fight interview he said he didnt want another Leavander Johnson to happen.
I'd say when Gatti and Ward sharedthe water bottle after their fight. or during emanuel Agustus was fighting Olivera and the guy was obvisouly in a lot of pain and Agustus would just hit him in the body.

yeah ive observed tyson have done that a lot with other boxers however, we should also consider tyson is one of the sport's premier trash-talker i doubt it very much if he really intended to extend a hand of comfort on his broken down opponent or his way further shaming of his opponent " i told yah bitch youre goin down " :D just a thought.
dempsey was known to pick guys up
He was also known to stand over then and knock them down when they got up. :D
I would say when Glen Johnson was fighting George Jones and he asked the ref to stop the fight because he saw Jones was out of it. That was pretty cool. Then when Tszyu did the whole passing of the torch thing to Hatton after their fight, saying he was proud of him and whatnot.
He does that everytime he loses. Mike Tyson did that to Clifford Ettienne. That looked scary, I dunno why.
Yeah that was the fighter..it was wierd cos Ettiene couldn't even stand..still dazed..and tyson is proping him up..like a drunk..it was still gracious tho..
Probably just watching gatti and Ward try and kill each other, and at the end of the fight they just hugged and realised what a fight they had just given the world.
when Paulie Ayala beat Johnny Tapia in their first battle, Johnny Tapia lifted Paulie Ayala himself in admitance that he had won and put on a great fight.
