One of the things most people dont realize about Mayweather is his brain is faster than his hands, and he can fight any style. If he leans back on the ropes its cause he knows he can get away with it. Zab didnt let his hands go more after the 1st 3 rounds because he would have gotten his ass handed to him, he was more content on staying in the fight and trying to counter punch Mayweather. Zab had a good chance and if he stuck to the gameplan could have won, but he would have gotten hit more and he didnt have the heart to walk through the fire and go for a victory. If you watch the fight closely Mayweather came out with a different style for every round(and i pointed this out before lampley) he was holding his hands up walking right up to zab waiting for him to throw so he could counter. Meanwhile Zab was doing the same thing cept he was backing up. A counterfest would have been boring so mayweather pressed him. He fought the fight the way zab wanted and still beat him Much respect for the greatest fighter ive ever laid eyes on. "The person who is gonna beat me aint even been born yet. It might be one of my kids" Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Indeed Judah did have the tools to imperfect Mayweathers style but obviously they were left in the toolshed. Unless Mayweather is that great and we seen the best from Judah and Mayweather completely shut him down. What is your opinion on that?
The only reason I give Hatton a chance is obviously because of his pressure and his love to bully the guy on the ropes and hold and punch. Coincidentally Mayweather enjoys laying on the ropes going into defense mode which would leave him open and vulnerable. Mayweather could easily take care of business in the middle of the ring against Hatton but I dont think Hatton would let that happen.
Definitely agree about Hatton if he gets Floyd against the ropes, but hopefully Floyd and Roger are aware of that too :) . Anyway it's the toughest test out there for Floyd, for sure, though Margarito is at the top of his game right now and would be a good one as well.
As for Zab, I think he was at or near the level he was against Spinks the second time around. He was fast, for sure, and getting his punches in well enough in the early going. So I think it is a credit to Floyd that he was able to modify his gameplan and shut him down.
Yeah, I have trouble finding any streams, but it was nice to see it on a regular TV anyway.
As for Floyd, I think Zab's southpaw stance threw him off more than he was expecting. It looked like he was trying to set up for his own big shots and got caught looking.
Hatton is such a straight-up gunslinger I think Floyd will have an easier time seeing his shots coming.

It was a pretty good card best I have seen in a while, I snagged unfortunately should have ordered it online like I normally do since my pc streams it at a good framerate and looks pretty good...But I got a good night of boxing :)
In relation to his weight, he was slower and Zab didnt really jump on that but if a fighter who is nothing but explosive pressure gets a crack at Mayweather than it will effect him tremendously *coughHatton*Cough*

Yeah, I can't really afford it but I couldn't resist that card. It almost worked in our favour having Zab lose the Baldomir fight cause DK and Arum knew they had to stack the rest of the card so fans wouldn't be completely turned off. Having Diaz and Arce against game opponents certainly paved the way for a decent main event.
I'd give Floyd's performance a B. I think you said in another thread that the extra weight affected him and I tend to agree with you. However the adjustments he made after the first few rounds show why he is the best fighter out there right now. He was able to get in close and do the work he needed to and still block most of what Zab could throw at him.

VZE-I heard Yoel screaming when they were showing Mayweathers corner and Mayweather and Roger and his cutman and the other big guy were all looking over at Judahs corner at that point listening and I believe Roger said "He doesnt want none he is done"
Good to be back, did you catch the fight tonight?

Actually they were whispering I think from the 4th round on a couple of time...What was said who knows I thought it might be that Zab was hurt but maybe it was like "he was spanking me like you did when I was a kid, should I give him a low blow"
:lol1: good to have you back on the forum, spinksjinx.
I think it was earlier in the fight, but its funny that you said that though,I think I remember Yoel saying "look down, look down.."
look at Zabs eyes before he throws that punch...
Yup, thats what we were all thinking over here when we saw Yoel whispering, but if I remember correctly it was earlier in the fight, like 5 or 6 maybe.
Anybody else catch that between-round whispering? It started right before the low blow was thrown. Just a thought...
My friend who was watching this with me thoguth the same thing so maby, i was still bitching about how much i hate Zab to listen.
