I already owned Wiley something terrible for that just look...
How About you Owned this Post and Reply to it...
Why did Williams get no credit for beating a Margarito that beat a 30-1 Joshua Clottey and undefeated Kermit Cintron (Knock Artist) for the first time
(A PRIME Margarito)... when he had (the most feared man in the world tag)
.
A Margarito that only loss 1 fight in 10 years due to cuts....
A Margarito that had the wbo ww title for six years...
A Margarito that defended that title 8 times...
A Margarito that was Hyped as "The baddest Mutafu*ka On the planet
A Margarito that no one would dare to stand toe to toe with...
A Margarito that was even on some prominent boxing writers p4p list
Well guess what Happen Williams beat that Margarito...!!
and What did people think of Margarito after that fight????
"aww He Is A Limited Fighter"
"aww Lost To People Like Larry Dixon And He Got 4 Loses"
"i Knew Margarito Was Overrated"
As a matter Of Proof, on How I know people like you will discredit Floyd after he would beat a fighter like Margarito...
Look how you discredit Floyd after Floyd beat Hatton...
A fighter that you had as the 3rd BEST FIGHTER in the ENTIRE WORLD...p4p.
and this is after you HYPE hatton up as the Badd Ass Muthafu*ka
would Floyd never fight or Beat...!! TO the POINT WHERE YOU HAD ( HATTON RATED HIGHER ON YOUR P4P LIST)

After Floyd beat Hatton You first Disappear for a while ..too the point where people where asking where you was...!!
Where is Wiley..?

After All the Praise you gave Hatton, You made him The 3rd BEST FIGHTER in the ENTIRE WORLD...even HIGHER THAN MAYWEATHER.....
You thought Mayweather Would never Knockout Hatton... well guess what???
PBF not only beat Hatton he Knock him out..
So what did you do after that.... YOU ****ING DISAPPEARED..!!!!
and when you came back, you Had all kinds of excuses ready..!!!
You didnt give Floyd Full credit for a KNOCK OUT win....You immediately made excuses, and said how Mayweather is
ducking the next fighter you wanted to promote as the one who Floyd really really really doesnt want to fight..
So The Point of thIS is if Mayweather cant get credit for beating a fighter who you said was the 3rd best fighter in the world...Higher than what you currently have Margarito....
WE ALL KNOW HOW YOU will react if Floyd beat Margarito..
You will Disappear, and when you come back...You will Come back Making
all kinds of excuses just like you did with HATTON...
:owned2:
My goodness.
Destroyed.
But a fighter's career is organic. Like wine, it is never the same on any given day.
So, are you telling me that the guys who beat Pacquiao early on should be whipping their dicks out in Manila? No. Pac wasn't Pac yet. No soup for you!
Estrada gave Shane some problems, but Shane demolished Margarito. SSM has had several arcs to his career.
Similarly, Zab wasn't as dangerous coming off 20 months of inactivity to fight Cotto.
Hatton is cheating his ass off. Jeezuss.
this is why you have to evaluate the win or lose in context, which is what I said before.
I'm comfortable with that. But you can't retroactively poo-poo the decision-making.
For example, Zab Judah was the fight we wanted to see. There is copious evidence in the archives of this and every other board. But after Zab loses every fight post-Floyd, you then say "he didn't fight anybody". Ummm, no. He fought the guy that we ALL thought was a top guy.
Don't be a Holocaust denier.
6pm East Coast time...watching Tszyu-Hatton on ESPN Classic.
I've never cared for either one of them.. never been a fan of either.
I wasn't even around this website at the time so I don't know what fight who wanted to see.. you've only been around since '08, so who are we to say what the forum wanted at the time?
Anyway, what's the point of bringing up these old threads? Who gives a f*ck, really?
It's 2009 and y'all stuck in '04.. there is new shit to talk about, new fights, new fighters.. other things going on.
This is the huge problem with Mayweather Haters.
THE TRUTH ABOUT FLOYD HATERS
I never seen a fighter judge so much in retrospect rather than judge then what the fighters were at the moment. than how people do floyd.
That's like me saying Pavlik should have fought Abraham instead of Taylor the first time. Because Abraham would be a tougher challenge. And everybody knows that Pavlik shouldnt waste his time fighting taylor because He is just going to KO taylor and taylor is not a real challenge the way Abraham is. pavlik was ducking real challenges by fighting taylor instead of Abraham.
Although Taylor was the undisputed Champion and lineal MW champion at the time When Pavlik fought him.
And Avraham was really just a contender.
This sounds crazy right?
But this is exactly How Floyd haters judge Floyd...
They judge him after the fact.
It is so fuccking disgusting.
but it how they think
In order to judge someone's greatness you have to judge on what their opponents did before AND after their fight. FACT.
This is why historians usually wait a couple years before ranking a fighter..
Anyway, stop spamming the lounge with old threads.
That DIOS guy picked Floyd to KO Hatton in round 10.
...Are you Dios? The posting style is similar, but Dios seemed a lot smarter (no offense to you, but Dios was on a different level. Still...something about you reminds me of him.
No wonder Mayweather ducked Hatton...Imagine the asswhopping Ricky would put on him if Zab's doin him like this
This was the best post of the thread.
At the time he fought them, who were the best? You are looking at someone's resume through the prism of what you know TODAY.
Is Pacquiao the p4p best? Has he fought the best at either LW or WW? It's funny. Everybody agrees that Pac is #1 p4p. Pac's last two opponents? Delahoya and Hatton.
Hmmmmm, those names sound familiar.
you have to look at a fighters resume from the prism of today.. just like you do when evaluating presidents and any other person or athlete.
why do you think people usually wait 5 to 10 years until a person is retired to evaluate them? Because a fighter could have been hype therefor you have to evaluate what they did before AND after..
Floyd boys are the only ones who use this argument of he was considered such and such then.. but then when it comes to doing something good they like to encorporate what they did after, it makes no sense..
People give Jones credit for beating a hall of famer and atg in Hopkins, but he wasn't an ATG when he fought him.. does this mean he shouldn't get credit for beating an ATG?
NO.. He should.
Same goes with the bad.. at the time people didn't know how good or bad Judah was, therefor you have to put the win in contrast.. what did Judah do after?? well nothing..
So is it that impressive? NO...
Mayweather is the most overated boxer of all time.
Corrales, Chavez, Jukko, Gatti, Goyo Vargas, Castillo, Castillo again, Judah, Delahoya, Hatton, Corley, Manfredy, Famosito, Chicanito, etc. Who the hell are most of those fighter?
First off Castillo beat him and Castillo was knocked out 5 previous times before he fought Mayweather and only got popular cause of the Corales fight. Gatti washed -up/ Judah was coming from a lost to a fighter that had about 8 loses and came in bad shape to fight Mayweather/ Chavez wasn't Julio Cesar, but a decent fighter. Corley had just lost to Judah before fighting Mayweather. De La Hoya lost a close decision and got a worst beating from Pacquiao. Hatton went up in weight and was being grapped by Mayweather the whole fight. check-out how mayweather hits him and he cant get away, because the ref let him hold Hatton.
Its one thing to fight someone at their top of their game then on their way down. Before moving up in weight Mayweather fought no-one worthy so he could be called the best P4P fighter.
Pacquiao on the other hand has fought- Barrera(2), Morales(3), Juan Manuel Marguez(2), De La Hoya , David Diaz, Jorge Solis 33 & 0 at the time.
Pacquiao fought really big names and in their natiral weight class.
Because you are not an educated boxing fan.
Here's the deal. LOOOOOONG before the Floyd "nuthuggers" made a big deal about FMJ, do you know who made a big deal? The expert boxing insiders and writers.
The guy is a three-time National Golden Gloves winner. He went to the Olympics and beat a Cuban. And then was robbed of a gold medal. 2 years into his career, he beat - no DOMINATED - a respected champion. He then beat - no DOMINATED - a scary, p4p-ranked Corrales.
FMJ was ranked on Ring Magazine's pound-for-pound list for TEN consecutive years. 10 years. Culminating in three years atop that list. He is a two-time Fighter Of The Year. Fans don't vote for those. The boxing writers and experts that you read and listen to vote for those.
The guy went through this list undefeated (39-0, 25 KO's): Corrales, Chavez, Jukko, Gatti, Goyo Vargas, Castillo, Castillo again, Judah, Delahoya, Hatton, Corley, Manfredy, Famosito, Chicanito, etc. The only hiccup was the first Castillo fight. Don't think he won? OK, fine. He rematched the guy immediately. Any questions now?
He moved through five different weight classes. He went to FOUR higher weight classes after fighting 75% of his career at SFW. You know how impressed you are by Manny given that Pac started at 106 when he was 16 years old? Well, guess what weight Floyd won the national amateurs at 16 years old? Yep, 106.
He has never had his butt on the canvas. Broke his hand and touched the mat against Famoso. Knocked off balance by Judah. That's it.
He has won fights by slugging (Corley, N'Dou), by classical boxing (Corrales, castillo 2), fighting inside (Chavez, Hatton) and fighting outside (Baldomir, Delahoya). When he had to, he even became a "pressure fighter" (Sharmba, Judah). He has beaten guys with the right hand (Judah). With the left hook (hello, Ricky). With the bodyshots (Apodaca, Sharmba, Bruseles).
He told you that he would stop Gatti in six rounds. And did it.
Was in the biggest selling fight in boxing history. Was a staple of KO Nation, Boxing After Dark, WCB, and PPV. He was the opponent when the following fighters had their biggest fights and biggest paydays: Gatti, Judah, Baldomir, Delahoya and Hatton. He was on the first two 24/7 series. He sold out the Thomas & Mack Center fighting Zab Judah, a guy with no real fanbase. In an event where Zab refused to participate in the promotion.
He has always been classy in the ring. Never cheated. Never showed up out of shape. Never cut corners. Never linked to steroids. Never missed weight. Always complimented his opponents AFTER the contest. Even when Team Zab and Uncle Rog thugged out, he stayed out of the riot. When he had promotional problems, he bought out of his contract for $750K. He didn't sit out.
You don't have to like the guy. Most people don't. But respect the accomplishments. If you are a bigger fan of the SPORT than you are a hater, respect Floyd's hustle.
That, sweetie, is what's so great about Floyd.
QUISQUEYA...
my dude I am impressed.

good work.
As a matter of Fact.
I am giving you 5k for this post.

Nicely stated.

Are you insane? Margarito is the legitimate WW titlist and destroyed Cotto to get it. NOBODY destroys Miguel Cotto. Margarito did. Margarito is at the top of his game and name right now. He is punishing and relentless and his credentials after the Cotto fight are sparkling. Don't be a fool, Horus. Mayweather beating Margarito right now would go far in answering alot of lingering questions about Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

Wiley Hyena
Undisputed Champion
1. Pacquiao

3. Hatton
4. Mayweather
5. Israel Vasquez
6. Pavlik
7. J. M. Marquez
8. Cotto
9. Mosely
10. Kessler
Edit: I'm willing to move Calderon in for Kessler after last night, but Kessler is still a big contender for p4p.

Let's just put it this way. He had Hatton ranked higher than Floyd on the p4p list BEFORE december 8th.

The reality is that EVERYONE wanted to see FMJ-Judah when it was planned. Judah damaged it by losing to TaTa. So what did Floyd do? He fought both the former lineal champion and the current lineal champion. Both guys were in the top five in their division.
And then he fought Oscar. Say what you want about Oscar being past his prime, but DLH was one of the 3 best at 154.
And then he fought the guy who many posters on here were previously saying would be his toughest fight. A #8 p4p ranked reigning champion at JWW.
Revisionist history....gotta love it.
I am writing a thread about later on toady.
