I think hatton is become more well known for not fighting Mayweather, thats how i came to know him. Its a good plan because its building up to the fight so if they do fight it will be even larger! They both are just as guilty for dodging a fight between the two of them. Hopefully after the Mayweather Vs. Margirto and Hatton Vs. Castillo we will see a Mayweather Vs. Hatton. This will increase his profile in the USA, and bring in more fans = more money. Hatton has stated on numerous occasions that he is himself a boxing fan and has videos of all the fights going back years and has a real interest in boxing history. He's as aware as anyone , as to which fights the public would like to see..and he wants to have those fights more than anyone. However it's not always that easy to match up fights, just like that. The Hatton team have no doubt had some problems setting up a fight for May, but as other people have stated..this will be his third world title fight in three fights at two different weights...and people are still slagging the guy off.. Hatton will gain a tilte or two, raise his profile and do what he has to do...They have a plan for dominating the USA and its slowly taking shape.. You may criticise his style but you can't criticise his results..non of his victories have been close ..He's worn nortorious hard men down untill they can go on no more...Unlike Mayweather.. I saw the first fight against Castillo the other day, for the first time..and if looked like Mayweather lost the fight to me..too much running away for my liking...Hatton would just tear through the guy.. Anyway. Hatton is going up in weight to follow the best fighters, whilst gaining more titles ..People slag him off for fighting in the UK, Well he's coming over to your back yard..But your still not happy... I'm afraid you never will.. Even though it would be difficult for Hatton to get much bigger in Britain, he needs to raise his profile in the USA before he has the real big fights againts Mayweather and Co...otherwise these fights will not generate as much interest and more importantly CASH... Don't worry..the HitMan is coming..

hatton is a rugged fighter with a fan friendly in your face style no doubt. however, his win over an overrated and aged tszyu has landed him too high on some "all time" lists. he is still young and fighting for a welter title is nothing to shame him about even if collazo's name is obscure too many. he is a damn good fighter but whether he will be great or not is yet to be determined.

heres my problem...people hate on floyd for fighting judah while hatton is fighting collazo...could you imagine how bad ppl would be over hattons nuts for taking the fight against judah??? point is, its not fair...if ppl want to hate on floyd they need to hate on hatton as well and thats why i respond so negativily to those poting about how this is a good fight for hatton but turn around and hate on floyd for fighting judah

I'm not losing any respect for Hatton whatsoever. If anything I'm gaining more and more respect for him as a fighter. I'm not dissapointed in him...for fighting Collazo. Like I've stated. I'm dissapointed at the idea that we won't see Hatton v.s. Augustus....when Augustus wanted the fight dearly and many boxing fans did as well. I'm critical of how high people rank him sometimes, because I think there are alot of people that have gone completely nuts after he beat KT. I like watching him fight, he fights like a real man, but I'd like to see more slugfests with him involved...and in the States against what would be considered better opposition. I'm not going to elaborate on that "Opposition" thing...because you know what I mean. There are dozens of tough fucking Mexicans in his division that want to fight his fight and it just so happens they don't live in Manchester. Too dirty eh? What's as much troubling as his cheating is that the refs have always been passive at warning and deducting points from Hatton. Im very dissappointed with hatton, when i first heard about hatton i was very excited. People were building him into a Chavez, or Castillo like fighter. Well remember Hatton was talking about fighting Floyd before the Gatti fight? He totally stopped that talk after seeing him live and instead fought Maussa and is fighting Collazo. Hatton is coming over here to start fighting so you can't say it's his wanting the fight to be in Britain holding the fight back. You can't just assume it's Hatton's fault if they don't fight because you're American and don't like British fighters. If this fight does not happen, the blame lies with Mayweather, and that's just common sense.

Before you call someone an idiot, make sure you can spell. And now that Floyd's rapidly moving up in weight and talking about taking on fighters at higher weight classes, it's ok for Hatton to take on Collazo? You're dumb as hell. Time is of the essence and fighting Collazo instead of Floyd shows that he has no interest in fighting a fighter that will go up in weight and soon. your an idiot, to win the belt collazo beat miguel angel gonzales, of course he was way way past his prime, but he certainly didnt have 40 losses. Hatton doesn't need tune ups for floyd in the sense that he isn't ready physically to fight him, he wants to get acclimated to the U.S. and build a fan base. Hatton is no coward, believe that. I'm beginning to wonder whether Hatton will ever fight Floyd. The endless delays then final choice of Collazo suggests to me that his team have had problems negotiating good fights for him. Hatton straight after the Maussa fight was talking about going after people like Cotto, Castillo, Corralles and then after that it seemed that he wanted Gatti and then Baldomir. Yet those fights didnt materialise and it seemed like every week they would say we'll announce who he's fighting very soon only to delay it again... and I think Collazo was a kind of last minute choice because they had run out of options. So the prospect of Hattons team negotiating a big fight like Mayweather doesnt really fill me with joy. Also it looks like Mayweather wont be able to avoid a fight with Margarito for much longer and he also wants a big pay day against Oscar De La Hoya, which HBO would probably love. I just think this is gonna be one of those fights that everyone wants to see but never happens due to something always being in the way. I would love to be wrong though.

I agree that an Augustus-Hatton fight would be very entertaining, but imo Collazo is a more dangerous fight for Hatton than Augustus... Perhaps.....but. In a "told you so" case. Yeah, sorry. The first fight was a total robbery, but I give credit to him for using his godly skills in the second fight. thats a fact, castillo was robbed.

Why are people so angry with him fighting Callozo, if he does beat him that means he has won 3 world titles in 3 fights. Give the man a break. Besides, this fight will make him bigger in America and will atleast give him some kind of fanbase. I'm not angry at him fighting Collazo. I'm angry at the prospect of Augustus v.s.
