On paper this is Wladimir Klitschko's fight to win: he is way bigger than Chris Byrd, survived Samuel Peter, hits a lot harder, won their first fight. But there is something that makes me feel Byrd is going to beat Wladimir Klitschko this time. I have been following both their careers for quite some time now, Byrd is much more experienced (both Klitschkos, Ibeabuchi, Holyfield, Tua, Golota, etc.). In my view Chris will be agressive, work Kltschko's body to wear him out and just rely more on his power than he ever has before. His power is a little underrated, he certainly almost had Jameel McCline out.
Byrd has a chance to win, and I believe he will win. :)
as it always has been for the heavyweight division, anything can happen at anytime. however, this is an extremely tall order.
"Its a shame his fights as a champion never matched his fights with Tua, Ibeabuchi, and Vitali. Those were really great. "
uh, his fight with vitali was great? for him? he got pounded around the ring for almost a dozen rounds. it only looks good on paper.
Byrd skills have been slipping for years. His inactivity dosn't help him either. Wlad will punish him and stop him in 4 rounds. Hopefully that will be the last we hear of Chris Byrd
He has been considering retireing for a while now..... so it may be.

Even the Holyfield fight was "kind of" exciting.
I don't see Byrd losing this fight. Wlad will be in good shape but like he did against Peter, he will be wore out by the 6th rnd. Byrd can take a good punch and even get knocked down by it and still win the fight. He will out score Wlad. UD Byrd.
Even if Wlad is tired by the 6th.
Lets say he wins 1-6. Byrd wins 7-12.
Wlad gets one knockdown. He wins the fight. Right there.
Not too mention judges tend to give bias towards the fighter that knocks the other guy down in remaining rounds.
Soooooooooo. I think this is probably about as close as you ever come to a "no chance" in boxing.
But. I said the same thing before Wlad vs Brewster and look what happend there.

I just dont see how Byrd can overcome the dissadvatages here. Wlad under Manny shouldn't tire and waste energy. If Manny can get Wlad to close the ring off, Byrd may go to sleep.
Byrd lacks power and since Wlad's biggest issue is his china chin(He seemed to fix his stamina issue now that he's under Manny) it doesn't look good for Byrd.
I voted no but now that I think about it everyone has a chance in boxing, miniscule as it may be in this case. Still, Byrd is gonna have a tough time on his hands because of his lack of power. I predict that this will be an easier fight for Wlad than the first one.
Not really. Byrd knows what everyone else knows, though, so I think he's going to try and stay away early and not take punishment, even give away those rounds, in order to come on strong down the stretch and let it all hang out, hoping that Wlad gets tired. That's his only chance and he knows it. If Wlad is in the kind of shape he was in for the Peter fight, then it's all over but the cryin for Byrd.
Sometimes when a fighter goes stale for a while, and looks to be there for the taking, they put on one last good performance, so it's possible. and when you combine that with the fact Wladimir may be overconfident, things could get interesting, you never know.
