Would Roy Jones be succesful as a Heavyweight?

your crazy to think he wouldve lasted two more fights without getting ktfo. he was never truley hit in his prime or while he was fighting bums. around the time he met tarver he got lazy and had no movement. i always said to myself. if someone could catch him on the ropes . they could have a chance in catching him. i definitely thought that after the de valle fight. he got the perfect fighter to face in the heavyweight division in ruiz for a title. ruiz cant really take a big punch or deliver a big punch. ever since he ktfo by tua by being a counter puncher. he became a counter hugger. i think ruiz was born to make jones and toney. become only the second and third former middle weight champs to become heavyweight champs :D

Name one heavyweight in the top 10 Roy stands a chance against. if i had to pick 1 it would be byrd. it would be a battle of speed i dont think either one of these guys comits to there punches or has the power to KO the other. so if i had to pick based on speed id pick roy to win by UD.

Roy Jones HAS been to the heavyweight division and ended up winning the crown... But if he goes back, can he be a Heavyweight Champ...because right now, there are no heavyweights that are faster than him. Wlad will take him out in 1 or 2 rounds. No, Roy should fight at LHW or cruiserweight, IMO.

if wouldve never went back down to fight tarver, he couldve been the champion for the next 5 years unless he fought corrie sanders ,I think sanders wouldve burried jones..jones is a damn fool think of all the great fight we couldve saw jones bryd,jones klitscko ,jonesrahman jones tyson, jones toney..he had so much speed at heavyweight and by now he couldve been about 210 That's crazy... Jones would have stood a good chance to get KOed by anyone with decent hand speed -- by Lamon, Byrd, Wlad, Vitaliy, Toney, Sanders, Ibragimov, Golota, etc. He might have won one or two fights, but a very bad KO loss would have been inevitable.

someone like Toney who is a more physical fighter can last because he doesn't depend on avoiding EVERY single shot and is more physical

the appeal about Heavyweights over the years is that speed is not everything... Roy would not last...he has the talent...but not the size and chin

if he did i think hed be on his bicycle for 12 rounds because i dont think he could take a real heavyweight punch and with roy it seems to just take 1 good punch to KO him :boxing: thats just my .02 cents
