There is just something that does it for me when I watch boxing and look at fighters records with a BIG ZERO in the Loss column.
Its kinda like finding a virgin for a wife (pretty damn rare this day in age) :D
I dont care how good a fighter is and what belts he has, a (1) in the loss column just ruins them. Even if the record is 71-1.
With this said, Id like to start with 3 of my favorite active boxers (all 3 Armenian :) ) and all 3 undefeated thus far (knock on wood).
All of you guys add your favorite boxer in as well, BUT MAKE SURE THEY ARE UNDEFEATED. Its their time to shine in this thread until that dreaded day of the FIRST LOSS comes. Put pics too.
1) VIC "Raging Bull" Darchinyan (25-0, 20KOs) - IBF/IBO World Flyweight Champion
2) Arthur Abraham (20-0, 17KOs) - IBF Middleweight World Champion
3) Vanes "Nightmare" Martirosyan (7-0 4KOs) Super Welterweight
Some other undefeated fighter are:
1. Victor Oganov 25-0 25 KOs
2. Nikolay Valuev 43-0 31 KOs
3. Ruslan Chagaev 20-0 16 KOs
4. Alexander Abraham 15-0 12 KOs <--(Arthur Abraham's Brother)
Floyd Mayweather Jr. 35-0 (24 K.O.'s)
Miguel Angel Cotto 26-0 (22 K.O.'s)
My fave aswell, and also...
Abner Mares 8-0 (5 K.O.'S) Hes gona be the one to watch!
How about Pantera Miranda? This guy is 26-0 23KOs coming off a big stoppage of Howard Eastman.
Hey, don't leave out the fact that 10 of the people had 1 loss or less! (let's not talk about their wins though!)
On a serious note, can you think of a better upcoming fight that Miranda vs Abraham? 2 top undefeated contenders. Than the winner could fight the undefeated Taylor. Wow, that would be something.
very true, would be nice to see winner of Miranda/Abraham vs Taylor to decide a true World Middleweight Champion.

nah i know what ur saying now
but i dont have anything to learn
i am all knowledgable
then you need to retire while you are on top ;)
cuz comments like "I know it all" will soon start to ruin you too. Like a 1st loss.
IMO, if you have 5 losses or more, THATS when u're done. 0 is great, 1 is forgivable, same with 2, 3 is alright, 4 is enough, 5 or more is a problem.
but yeah, i know what ur talking about. but fighters back then had 100-200 professional fights. a high number of losses was expected, its the law of averages. if you have so many fights, ur bound to lose some of them.
low loss counts are expected today cuz today, fighters are such pussies that they finish their careers with less than 50 fights under their belt. do you think lennox lewis would be considered a great HW if he lost 20 of his 44 professional bouts?
losses count, whether we like counting them or not. a fighter whos 40-0 will definatley be held in higher regard than a fighter whos 35-20.
tell that to hbo with gatti
Floyd Mayweather
Joe Calzaghe
Calvin Brock
Steve Cunningham
Nicolay Valuev
Tomasz Adamek
Chad Dawson
Mikkel Kessler
Carl Froch
Jermain Taylor
Arthur Abraham
Kelly Pavlik
Miguel Cotto
Ricky Hatton
Paul Malignaggi
Demetrius Hopkins
Juan Diaz
Janos Nagy
Edwin Valero
Kevin Mitchell
Chris John
Joan Guzman
That's a lot.
My favorites are in bold.
i dont care much about the record or the level of opposition if the fighter puts on a good show. long as both fighters can kick an average joe's ass and the fight is longer than 1 round
I never once said Cotto is "the champ." Stop putting words in my mouth and tring to make me look dumb cause ur only chance is by putting words in my mouth. I never said Cotto is the CHAMP or that hes teh best. I think hes good and has the potential to become great. Cotto's not the so called CHAMP,thats suppose to be Hatton, that is why im ripping Hatton. But im done arguin w/ u bro its like arguin w/ a rock, there is no point.
He is the champ he has a title he's a cha-a-a-mp. Woman enough with your drama I didn't say you said he was the best deja de llorar nene :bottle:
i didnt mean it litterally, but i think that it does ruin them in a sense that they can never have their undefeated record again no matter what.
and you are right, i do have plenty to learn, as do all of us.

Cotto fights some good fighters. I'll admit he hasnt fought an A fighter yet, but he sure is cleaning house on the B's and C's.
LOL whats' the point he's suppossedly the champ and has been for a while I'd stop ripping on Hatton and using Hatton as the "it's ok to be fighting B and C caliber fighters when you're champ" line.
if you think 1 loss "ruins" a fighter, you have alot to learn about boxing...

Floyd Mayweather Jr., Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, and Joe Calzaghe are the undefeated fighters at the top of the sport.Of course there are many contenders and prospects that are undefeated like Calvin Brock, Jaun Diaz, and Travis Simms but they don't compete at the highest levels of the sport like the other four.
IMHO the myth of the undefeated/unbeatable? fighter will remain in boxing forever ... it adds a lot of enigma to a lot of boxing questions real or imaginary ...
although, i dont preach this myth, my personal undefeated favorite is
Ray "Boom Boom" Bautista he is still very young, exciting and very promising but still a lot more to learn, whether he will be a champ or a great there lies the enigma...
I would not say that fighters are pussies, they are just more conscious and knowledgable about the effects of fighting hard fights all of the time.
Do you remember Freddie Pendelton. A 500 fighter that got the right people with and behind him and went on to win a title. The guy could fight. Back when he came to Detroit and KO'd Tyrone Trice who was a bad man in his own way. Freddie could fight.
Rockin' :boxing:
carmen basilio
gene fullmer
george foreman
joe frazier
willie pep
jake lamotta
alexis arguello
marvin hagler
these fighters had a LOT of fights, and they're still around, still walking, still talking, doing fine (for their age).
these pussies today dont realize that you can have a lot of hard great fights and still not get brain damage. brain damage is not automatic.
The typical fight fan today believes that a guy with a loss or two is done or cant really fight. What about back when boxing was huge in the 30s 40s and 50s. Guys had loses all over their records and they were still good fighters, many going on to win a title.
If todays boxing audience was more acceptable to a loss on a record we could have many great fights going down. But its not that way.
A loss is a learning tool, and the man that steps up without a loss is a man with a lesson yet to learn.
Dont judge the record, judge the fighter in action and you will be much better off.
