If you don't win, you suck. That is the culture of most boxing fans summed up in 5 words. Now no one lost tonight, but no one won either. So in the minds of most theres two people that suck no. And mainly Toney is the latest victim of this culture. But the question is does James Toney really suck? And the answer is no and neither does Hasim Rahman. It was close fight, Rahman didn't destroy James Toney and Toney didn't destroy Hasim Rahman. Toney came into the fight too heavy, I thought Toney was going to win but when I heard 237 I had some doubts. A rematch will most likely take place and this time most likely we will have a real winner. If Toney loses that fight, then you guys should trash him if you want. But to trash him off a draw to me shows a hidden agenda. It shows that you guys wanted a reason tonight to call Toney a fat loser, and you didn't get your Rahman win so you called him that off a draw.

Not too bad for a fat short guy..huh?
agree with raesaad's statement of not wanting either of these guys to be known as THE champ.
bozo, you scored a draw?!?! now i had it 4-1 originally going into the sixth. i think it was a round off of what lederman scored it at that point. i just don't think toney did enough to win 4 out of the last 6 rounds. it may have been a 3-3 split into the final 6 rounds. i would say rahman won the 12th and at least half of the first 6 rounds for sure.
i'm sure i'll watch the fight a few more times soon and maybe write up a post fight review.

I dont want to see a rematch nor do I want either fighter to be "the Champ" at this point. :(
I was impressed by neither, I don't think it was one of the " Worst decisions ever", as some people on this thread think but I did have it scored 116-113 for Rahman and felt he deserved the win. I was impressed by neither man though. Perhaps Toney will learn that being fat is not an advantage, but don't be surprised if he shows up to fight next time weighing 245 or something.
Lol
my bad
but its ok
in a couple days u look back on that post and be like
WOW
that really was quite witty
GOD BLESS abdiel-fukin-2k3
No its cool...lol
^This is why I'm starting to hate posting on the internet. But I've been here so long, I would feel strange leaving. I'm not talking about Abdiel2k3, I'm talking about these kind of comments. I got respect for Abdiel2k3, hes an old school poster.

AND he also ate one of those huge ass burgers in under an hour so he got to eat it for free
plus his picture up on the wall next to only a select few truck drivers that did the same
There are way too many hacks on this fourm talking bout how they scored this fight.
80% of them didn't score it at all, and couldn't tell you what rounds they thought each fighter won.
Rock was throwing more shots, but Toney was clearly landing the cleaner more effective shots. It was a lot like the Jirov fight where Jirov was much busier but Toney's punches were much cleaner.
This fight was very close in terms of scoring and a draw was a fair result.
Seriously put the pipe down. This decision was one of the worse decisions, u have to call the fight the way u see it.Rahman won the fight. What it tells u is that Toney needs to be on house arrest before a fight with the fridge closed by locks!
