Would it be far to say that he was unfairly hated, and perhaps underrated? i think he was a great fighter, very entertaining, unorthodox style, superb reflexes, great power, he was a great personality. he lost one fight, albeit the biggest of his career, and was hung for it by some people because of hatred IMO.
I think that would be very fair, although a big part of his being hated was his own mouth lol
I really enjoyed watching him fight, and I'd still watch him if he comes back. I think he was a very good fighter, and he'll probably never get the respect he deserves.
How good was he? Very good, if you consider skill, but not very fucking good at all if you consider heart.
So, for true fight fans, he was (and will ever remain) a blur in the Championship fight scene.
His true legacy will be that of the ultimate "owned" fighter. A word forever reserved for the Prince.
Hamed had power and pace, was a real showman however though he showed heart in the ring, namely the Kevin Kelley fight, once he lost against MAB, he then lost it in the head and could never come back from that... Still a pleasure to watch though

i think the question fall a little short, its should be
how great was Hamed??
IMHO, there is no denying the prince was good, exciting and has power, and at least dominated the FW for a short time, beating world titlist and challengers after another ...
now how great was Hamed? my answer, not really sure, he faced only one p4p fighter in MAB and failed miserably, his only loss ... then after did not have the will or heart to comeback figthing ...
I've only seen one Hamed fight and that was his ko win against Kevin Kelley. It was a very solid scrap. He had power but bad balance.Even after the MAB loss I think he could have bounced back and made some noise but I guess he took the loss too hard fought one more time and retired never to be heard from again except for false rumors of a comeback.
Hamed
What he was is a bad little dude that can tear another guy's head off his shoulders.
He was never one of my favorites, but put some good cats to sleep that had paid their dues including Boom Boom and Wilfredo Vazquez,
JS
did he really loose to bererra? did he have a jab?what was his best punch? how was his defense? .....any experts?
yes he was beaten by barrera
he had a slapping jab
his best punch was any left hand because they come from anywhere
his defense was ok but always back out with his chin out and that cost him a couple of times
