First off let me say I really enjoyed Calzaghe beating that slow overgrown Jeff Lacy, but lets be realistic here, Jones is going to easily handle Calzaghe. Why do you think Jones wants to fight him? He knows he can beat a guy who just won a big fight and has more credibility than ever. Jones is so confident he will leave home to do it.
Remember that styles make fights and the speed of Jones will be WAY too much for Calzaghe to handle. I know he has been knocked around lately, but by now his body has had time to heal from the shock he put it through by gaining / losing 25 lbs of solid muscle (I hope you guys do realize the toll this took on his body). Sorry to burst your bubbles but if Calzaghe takes this fight it is going to be the rebirth of Roy Jones Jr. and it will not be pretty for the Brits....
roy doesnt throw punches anymore, lol he lost to tarver and calazghe is much faster then tarver. so tell me how is roy gonna beat a guy whos faster then tarver and throws more punches then tarver and doesnt get TIRED in the last couple rounds.

Hi, I'm Super_Lightweight, the biggest Roy Jones fan in the history of planet Earth and boxingscene. Let me offer you some insight.
Roy Jones has recovered as much as he can from what he put his body through. One never fully recovers from such a devastating experience. On top of this, Roy's brain is more easily rattled, similar to Troy Aikman late in his career due to post-concussion syndrome.
Roy Jones is a hall of famer and would have hurt Joe pretty bad a few years ago, but now Roy's stamina is not the same, he hasn't showed he can sustain a decent pace in a while, and Joe is a relentless guy. Roy also said himself his motivation for boxing comes and goes. This is not the attitude needed to beat Joe right now.
Roy has a chance, because he's Roy. That chance is not very big though. If Roy won, it'd be historic. We'll see...
I appreciate your board and your opinions, we will see if / when the fight ever comes off. As for the date, cant help what I have been taught on these shores :) ....

a prime roy jones embarreses joe c, but this roy is about 1/8th of the fighter he was a few years ago
Um lets see, how do I approach this without making you look stupid?
I AM AN AMERICAN, THAT IS HOW WE WRITE THE DATE!!!!
You have to admit, that is a rather strange way to write a date.....
I give Tommy HEarns a better shot at beating Jones then I do Jones beating Calzaghe.
Come to think about it Hearns vs. Jones sounds pretty fucking good!
are you silly.
you dont ever rite the date like that!!!!!!!
its 12/03/2006
day / month / year

Think with your brain and not your heart
If RJJ had any heart left people wouldn't give calzaghe a chance.
2 things to remember:
1)The wolf climbing the hill is the hungriest.
2) A boxer is onbly as good as his last fight.
In laymans terms dont just EXPECT a 2002 RJJ to turn up!
I don't even like jones and me being a southpaw of course I loved calzaghes performance ..but I'm sad to say jones is much too fast..jones is to calzaghe as calzaghe is to lacy and once calzaghe feels the speed power combination he will be too defensive and get potshotted all night plus jones has a 3 inch reach advantage
Don't see it personaly. Jones is unlikely to outbox Calzaghe now maybe five years ago, but either way it'll be the biggest boxing match in Wales since Lewis fought Bruno in Cardiff and i'm dying for it to happen.
1. Jones doesnt have to hurt him, simply outbox him.
2. Jones has way too much experience to let a hostile crowd bother him (crowd wont be so bad after a few rounds if Jones is up on the cards anyway).
Think with your brain and not your heart, believe me Calzaghe is tailor made for Jones, it will be an easy 12 round lopsided decision.
No chance son. If the fight happens in Cardiff's Millenium Stadium Roy will be trembling with fear. Calzaghe trains in a freezing gym in Abercarn, it ultra basic, but it has made him into a right hard nut. No way Jones will evan hurt Joe let alone beat him. Add to that 60,000+ welshmen it will be one hell of an intimidating atmosphere.
