hmmm...Joe Calzaghe vs Glen Johnson?

i think that calzaghe would take johnson because hes taller and a lot faster but would be a difficult scrap against tavner. after seeing the lacy fight and then watching the byron mitchell fight again i think that would have been a good fight. both black americans fighting, bit like the slave trade really getting paid to fight for the whitemans fun. later

Glen is too smart and durable to get stopped by Joe given that Jeff (who gets hit more than Glen) lasted 12 vs Joe in England. I feel Joe should be the favorite vs Glen, but Glen has a way of getting to guys...the man is a force of nature and he won't just lock up and stare at Joe on the inside. When I say Joe might stop him the opnly way I see that happening is by a conrer coming in with the towel becauyse there guy has taken too many shots. Your right I cant see Joe taking Johnson out via traditional KO or TKO but I can see him laying a ton of shots on the old road warrior and eventually givng his corner a clear choice to stop the fight. With that said I like the way Glenn bangs to the body, after watching Joe's feet on Saturday night it is clear whoever wants to beat him needs to slow him down.

Talk about a couple of fighters with super work rates...shit! Calzaghe has ridiculously fast hands to fast for Glenn but the Road Warrior is a game son of a bitch and he would certainly make Joe work for a late stoppage or a decision. I want to see Tarver beaten up like he was against Harding...but worse.

How do you think this would play out? Johnson has a come forward approach like Lacy, HOWEVER he is not dependent on power, has a tight defense, throws punches and combinations, and can work for 12 rounds... I was thinking this as I watched the fight...what a good match-up this would be but I have to say calzaghe is very quick and may beat Johnson but it is defintely a fight I would love to see.

johnson utilizes his jab and has a high work rate- love to see it- note lasat time cal fougth at 175 was 1995

I have to lean towards Johnson just cuz I'm sure he's seen just about every style and probably has a way to beat every style.

IMO, Calzaghe would do the same thing Tarver did to Glen in their 2nd fight but with faster hands and more combos.

Glen would be a great fight for Joe. I dont think it will happen, especialy if Tarver or Jones comes a knocking with a sack of $$$. But if it did, i cant see it going much different than the Lacy fight? Joe will outscore anyone, but i can see Tarver roughing it up a bit more, using his experience, but i think Joe would get a comfortable points decicion.

I had never thought about this fight, but it's much more compelling than the Tarver matchup Joe was talking about.

after last nights performance, i'd say Calzaghe would sworm the shit out of Johnson. although i think that Johnson would be more competitive but due to the work rate of Calzaghe he would out hustle Johnson in a action packed fight..... i wouldn't mind watcing this one. i'd like to see Kessler and Calzaghe get it on. or Tarver and Calzaghe....
