RJJ recently said on Friday Night Fights when questioned about his fighting weight that he may go down to super middleweight. Calzaghe versus Jones what you think.
None Of These Fights Will Ever Happen. Especially After Last Night's Performance, I've Always Said On Here Calzage Was An Abstolute Monster, That Roy Fight Was Supposed To Happen Years Ago. Why You Think Roy Started Playing The Moving Up In Weight Game????, He Was Runnin' From Tarver, And Calzage, Roy Don't Want None Of That, And Tarver Would Get His Ass Delivered To Him Like A Sunday Morning Paper, The Only One I Think That Would Have The Balls To Rock Wit Joe Is Glen Johnson. Everybody Else Is Going To Politic Their Way Out Of It.
Firstly, Roy Jones is a legend! However, he's now a spent fighter. He had the skills to beat Tarver but was found wanting. Tarver would do well to avoid Calzaghe, which i think he will. But for Joe's sake, he's got to push for that Tarver fight.
heres the problem
roy isnt scared. he will fight joe bc he is in denial
In the ring Roy is scared, he fought like a guy who hates fighting in his last bout.
Roy will never fight Calzaghe and deep down he knows it.
Why is that? Because Tarver is the naturally larger man, who should be faster in his own weight division? Or is it because Winky has to come up yet another weight division to fight a guy several weight classes above his own natural weight class? Or maybe it's just that Calzaghe is so much bigger than Winky, and his hands will be faster at 168, and he'll just be able to have his way with the much smaller man, despite his unusually long forarms. Or maybe it's that Calzaghe has a 1" reach advantage that gives Winky a better shot than Tarver does, despite the fact that Tarver enjoys a 2" advantage over Joe. So, I mean, which is it that would actually make someone thing Ronald "Winky" Wright, a man who began his career at Jr. Middleweight, and now is fighting for the Middleweight championship, can beat a guy who's been fighting at 168 his entire career? And which is it that would suggest he has a better shot than Tarver?
Aside from all that, you seem to agree with me that Winky wouldn't stand a chance:
What if he loses to Kessler, though? Kessler is a dangerous opponent.
I love it how you spend twenty minutes of your time to post an explaination/rebuttle that nobody reads except for me.
Except I didin't read it.

Shut the fuck up Juyjuy, Roy Jones throws 15 punches a round and 13 of them are jabs, a speedy pressure fighter like Joe would kill Jones.
Besides does anyone think after what happened last night that Roy is serious about fighting Calzaghe? The other night on ESPN when Roy was blabbing about who he is fighting next (keep in mind he just got done ripping off all of boxing with a DISGRACEFUL performance against Tarver), I said out loud "who the fuck is he kidding?"
My wife laughed and said "he's kidding boxing fans, thats who he is kidding"....well let me tell you something he aint kidding me anymore-I know what Roy Jones is at this moment in time...a scared, shot fighter who is in serious denial....but it is clear that his tough rhetoric has got a few people still fooled...my advice to those people...
Wake the fuck up, and quit listening to Roy Jones, the guy is currently the poster boy for the word DENIAL.
Oh BTW-Juyjuy-shut the fuck up...please.

Only a complete moron would make the statement you just did.

I don't see any possible way for Wright to beat Calzaghe. He would get overwhelmed with punches, and he's too fucking small.
this fight wont and shouldnt happen. joe should go after kessler then end his career with tarver.

I seriously think Jones might have a couple good fights left in him, only if he gets some confidence back. Look at how happy he was after the third Tarver fight just because he didnt get knocked out. He could be different at the super middle weight. I am however against him getting a title shot right away. I want to see him beat a good opponent first.
Jones will beat Calzaghe, trust me. Based on styles, I see Jones beating him.

If the fight happens at this point in time....
Roy is virtually as good as dead man.
exactly, dead man walking if this fight goes into effect.
Calzaghe needs to line up Woods, Kessler, and Tarver............
Calzaghe throws a hell of a lot of punches but Lacy was letting himself get hit Roy don't fight like that. Also Calzaghe threw a lot yesterday but does not even come clsoe to the power that Tarver and Johnson has. Roy could definately beat Calzaghe, i'd watch it.
Jones has the power to ko Calzaghe dont forget it. Yes, Tarver beat him but Jones was gun shy. He will have more confidence against Cal then Tarver. Jones is a corpse, ok. He went the distance with Tarver and just did not pull deep enough to win.
Jones will ko Calzaghe ;)

Joe would beat Jones at this point in their life, and he would also beat Tarver.. the only contest I see, would be Winky coming up to SMW and giving Joe a fight, but I still think Joe would put too much pressure on for Winky to handle.

I think that Mikkel Kessler would be a good fight for Calzaghe.

Yeah I agree.
Erdei and Adamek are really the only people I see even standing a remote chance....and it's a slim one at that.

He should go after Tarver, it will be a better fight, and he'll get more respect for winning it.
I was very imporessed by Joe last night, but he or no one else stands a chance with Tarver.

I think even better than that is a Calzaghe vs Glenn Johnson fight that could be a awesome compubox slugfest.
But as for the Roy vs. Calzeghe fight I got to think Roy would get knocked out yet again, but who knows with Roy I still think he could have beaten Tarver the thrid time around if only he had bothered to fight.
