This explains why Calzaghe's performance last night was just good and not great. Calzaghe hurt his hand again from about the 4th round and he said he couldn't punch with the same authority.
Its a shame because imagine wht would have happend if Calzaghe was 100% in that ring last night?
I`m glad Calzaghe didn`t pull out during or before the fight, went along with it feeling agony and pain and pulled out the win.
Not Calzaghe's best effort compared what he did to Eubank, Shekia and Veit but he pulled it off. i just hope there is a remtch with Lacy when Calaghe is 100% fit and he can score a KO next time!

yeah and he said it was not so bad, and he only hurt it because he hit Lacy's head so many times.
Calzaghe didn`t want to make any excuses though so he would say this. All i will say is that Calzaghe showed allot of heart in fighting with an injury. The pain must have effected his power at times.
Full praise to Calzaghe for fighting through injury!
Calzaghe said he had an injury to his left hand from the 8th round onwards.__________________

Calzaghe's performance was great ya knob. Frank Warren said it was 'the best performance he's ever seen from a British fighter', and Lacy's trainer said it was 'the best he's seen, not just from a Brit, but from Americans too'.
I've never seen a performance like that in a world title unification fight either.
