I could not stand it if Joe wins the fight hes old brittle and from england. Lacy is on the verge of super stardom in the US and almost on the verge of mainstream media with the potential of being as well known maybe even more so to the genral public as oscar de lahoya. If he looses does this all go away will Lacy be considered exposed and miss his chance to hit the big time
At lacy's age and haveing been fighting his style for his career how hard is it going to be for him to change his style to give him more skill. If anyone knows from being boxers or trainers let me know how difficult it is.
I always find it interesting that boxing fans, especially arrogant ones who claim to be "true" or "hardcore" boxing fans, take this idiotic stand. Boxing boils down to this: 2 men, spending MONTHS in a gym relentlessly training and building themselves up with the express intention of knocking another man unconscious. That is a fact. Yes, they are the best in the world at doing it, and they are very skillful, but that is the purpose of the sport: if you can't knock them unconscious, either render them stupid, or hit them more times than they hit you over a certain timeframe. Do you not like knockouts? I suppose you prefer fights without knockdowns or brutal exchanges? Give me a BREAK. I'm sure you're off the sofa every time a boxer is knocked down, shouting and getting excited. Would you do the same if you saw an elderly woman got knocked down in the street? No of course not. These men are consenting to a fight, probably for reasons of necessity, greed, or ego. So it's fine then. Generally desperate, uneducated men hitting each other for our enjoyment. Nice morals. It's ok Lacy got a SAVAGE beating, because he still has hit "faculties intact"? What a bizarre viewpoint. Boxers know the risks, there are other jobs out there. Stop deluding yourself that you are some intellectual fight fan interested in the sweet science. Violence is seductive.
Oh, and LIGHTEN UP. Stop trying to be some spokesperson for the people. They can speak for themselves.
I love the way you've not actually read my post, cocksucker.
I said that I wanted Lacy to get pulled out from the eighth onwards. I was there and paid over a hundred and fifty quid for my ticket, but I was going on and on about how it should be stopped as I didn't want to see Lacy get fucked up like Gerald did. If you enjoy watching that you're a sick fuck, and it's a good job there aren't more like you as boxing would then surely be banned.
It's "you're" or "you are". Get some education.
I'm entitled my opinion. Especially considering i'm correct.
I'm sure someone in my family will. Probably when they're 80 and in nappies. Just like old G-Man himself.
you know ur a loser when u go on line to an internet board and correct peoples grammer.
its not funny that a guy ended up like that, and dont give me "its wats the sports all about," b/c its not, otherwise, why would their b tko's? no one in boxing is supposed to have to go through that.
Good post?? Moronic post. It doesn't take much insight to see one-dimensional Lacy is/was. Anybody with a modicum of intelligence would not have wet themselves over Lacy beating up a bunch of nobodies. I saw his 3 fights before Calzaghe schooled him and he just looked big, strong, and average. Throwing wild haymakers that could land on shot fighters like Robin Reid, but Calzaghe just laughed the whole way through the fight. I don't even like Calzaghe but he could've beaten with one hand behind his back. It's just a shame that he didn't up the pace at the end and send Lacy back in the same state Benn left McClellan.
Wearing an England shirt to try to win English fans over: unforgiveable. Got the punishment he deserved. Hopefully we don't have to see him again over here.
this guy seems to think that what happened to Gerald Mclellan was funny and that he somehow deserved it. He keeps on about it, he's even got a pic of Mclellan seconds after the end of the fight in his avator and, in this particular post, says it was a shame that Calzaghe didnt send Lacy back to the states the same way that Benn sent Mclellan back. I think it's absolutely disgusting and I'm sure most boxing fans (i would hope ALL boxing fans) would agree with me. I personally was relieved that Lacy came out of the fight with his faculties intact, and was crying for him to be pulled out from around the 8th to make sure that he didnt suffer an injury. Surely after the Levander Johnson tragedy and the numerous others that have befallen our sport at the minute we don't need ANYONE making light of it, even if it is just some prick on a boxing forum.
Definately Lacy, there is no way that Calzaghe can beat a decent SMW at SMW if he turns up like he has in his last three fights. He is just too weight-drained, too washed-up, too messed-up.
Lacy TKO1 is my prediction.
I'm putting £500 on Lacy to beat him in three rounds or less.
Sorry you lost the £500 Juy.
Calzaghe - what a fighter. And I'm English and I think he's fucking quality. I was there, it was one of the best night's of my life. Now I'm off to watch Woods vs Johnson III. I hope Clinton can get the win so that it might set up Calzaghe vs Woods. Whilst it may not be as big a fight worldwide as Calzaghe vs Johnson, it's gonna be much bigger over here and a real quality fight. And to be fair, Calzaghe vs Johnson probably isn't gonna be that big worldwide anyway.
if lacy losses two famous thread title will pop in NSB
1. Cal***gy the Lucky Puncher (if calzone KO Lacy)
2. One of the Biggest Robbery Ever. (if decision)
plus
1. Party time (on limey lounge...LOL!!)
Yeah the biggest robbery ever  LMFAO
If Lacy loses this fight then he may as well quit boxing, because he's going nowhere!
Calzaghe has looked a shadow of his former self in his last three fights and by all reports is currently weighing about 175. He'll be weight-drained, as he has been for years. Calzaghe's there for the taking more so than any champion in boxing.
Ha you had to eat your words didnt you? Prick! And whats this all about everyone from England hates him cos he's Welsh? You really do talk shit! Hardcore fans dont care about this predjudice of other countrys!

After several days of negotiations between promoters Tony Holden and Gary Shaw, Jeff Lacy rejected Allan Green as his comeback opponent for October 7th. "Gary Shaw and I did everything possible to make this fight happen, we were getting it finalized, then Lacy decided he didn't want to fight Allan" said a disappointed Tony Holden
Four days ago Allan Green demolished former Contender star Anthony Bonsante and called out Jeff Lacy in an interview with ESPN. "To be honest, I expected it" said Allan Green. "Jeff Lacy had been protected his whole career until he fought Calzaghe. We all know what happened when he stepped up. So I guess he will go back to fighting bums again" "
With Lacy out of the picture Green is now entertaining an offer to face WBO Super-Middleweight Champion Joe Calzaghe in October. "I will take that fight in a second! I have to meet with my promoter first and look at the specifics, but I am all for it" said Green
Green (21-0), is one of boxing's top prospects after scoring the ESPN and Ring Magazine knockout of the year against Jaidon Codrington and has reeled off four consectuive knockout victories.I missed that one I was reading all over yesterday that it was still good. whos he waiting for he needs to redeam himself but the top guys are taken and joe has a hurt hand maybe green that would be good or mundine. Andrada is a question but I think people are going to stay away from him he may become antoher marg. There is Bute but he is to smart to take the fight. Dawson to soon.
I would have to agree as well but lacy green is going to be a good fight and he will be trsted by a faster man who has some good pop but nit llike lacy.

Lacy was just another example of America's desperate "search for the next Mike Tyson". People have to realize that there was only one Mike Tyson and that it may be a long time before we get someone remotely similar. Even before Lacy fought a live body people were already talking him up as a carbon copy of Tyson, but of course real boxing fans knew he was indeed far too slow, clumsy and lacking the key fundamentals that made Tyson successful; handspeed, ingenious combinations, highly explosive footwork, and speed. Lacy had none of these, but the fact that his style resembled a (very) poor man's Tyson, combined with his nearly perfect record (outside of one NC) caused him to be hyped to ridiculous proportions.
So Jeff is probably the best example of an overrated fighter from the past several years...and that is very unfortunate, because he is a nice guy and a decent fighter, and really doesnt deserve the backlash that he's been getting ever since Calzaghe pasted him
Couldn't have said it better if I tried. That was a very good post.

Lacy is not going to lose to this BUM!
That's for sure. Calzaghe is a nobody with a padded record. He is going down in 3 rounds.
Lacy ends with fight with a shattering left hook to Calzaghe's chin and makes him quit.
Padded record?,what about Lacy`s record,he has only fought bum,Lacy is more protected then Sven Ottke and Markus Beyer was and travels nowhere to face opponents.Lacy has only fought outside US once against a bum name Donnell Wiggins in UK
