As just discussed in another thread, i think Kessler is good enough to soon get a chance to fight Lacy.. But of cause, money would have to be payed.. My question is: If none of the other beltholders, who should he fight? Who would stop all the "who has he fought " remarks? I know it might take a few to convince you all.. Name them.
The super middle division is crap. Lacy and Calzaghe is the big fight, i don`t rate the other guys. The titles are meaningless, its the fighter who beats the champs that counts!
Yes!! Lacy and Calzaghe are fighting to become the king of crap. You sound like a wery wise man. Thanx for posting, you really gave me a useful answer to my questions. By the way - do you remember how Kessler got his belt? Did Lacy pull it of a champ?

Danny Green or Otis Grant are two of the names making noise in the division.
If Kessler can fight them here in U.S. and defeat them in a very impressive fashion I'm sure he is going to get noticed. :)
I haven´t got to much knowledge about Otis Grant, his record looks fine thoug, how is his style, and can you tell he´s 38 by the way he fights?
You can ask anyone in this forum who saw the Danny Green vs Markus Beyer 2, they will tell you the same the second fight Danny had won.
dude i saw the fite my mates saw the fite he lost fair n square. green even said he lost, outdone by their tactics and stratergy he said.he said thats what germans are known for
oh i dont really care for that selling in the u.s stuff. No matter where you beat the best you take the #1 spot. especially in the super middleweight division where lacy is like the only american fighter up there, the rest from all over the world. and lets face it american tv only cares for americans.
Yes yes yes.. DG is a ok boxer.. But he didn´t knockout Beyer when he had the chance(s)..
But i see no reason at all, why Kessler would want to fight another aussie.. He did that allready, do you really think beating Green would sell him in the US???
kessler making a mess of lucas' face shows that his up their with the best and fought better competition than lacy, but still not that impressive cos i saw danny green easily mawl lucas too
Kessler´s last 3 fights:
12.11.04 Manuel Siaca Jr. TKO Round 8
08.06.05 (Sydney, Australia) Anthony Mundine (Aus) W-UD Round 12
14.01.06 Eric Lucas TKO Round 10
ive only seen kessler fight mundine, and lacy fight reid. Both werent to long ago and both opponents are mediocre at best imo. Mundine is australian and fought around the world, so he has fought someone out of denmark and europe
Mundine.. That sounds.. oh yes! Wasn´t that the guy Kessler already beat? I don´t think he would impress people in the us by doing it again
The Mundine fight wasn´t a good Kessler fight, even thoug he won UD in Mundine´s home country. I know that.
If you could watch his latest fight from a month ago, you´d get a better picture.
he only got my attention cos he looks like a very marketable fighter, but the opponent wasnt the best.
so if i was an investor, he got my attentoinbut didnt impress and id keep an eye on him untill he did.
he only got my attention cos he looks like a very marketable fighter, but the opponent wasnt the best. If he wants to be the best at super middleweight undisputed he'd have to go against danny green, markus beyer, lacy and calzaghe. Because including kessler they are the 5 best.

He needs to fight someone with a "name". Someone who is known outside of Denmark and Europe. Someone that Americans know. Thats a start. Its easy to win against opposition no one has heard off.
Not necessarily. Just because you haven'tn heard of somebody, doesn't mean they're no good.
Kessler has already fought and beaten one world champ, and two former world champs. By comparison, Lacy has fought only one guy who has held a title, Robin Reid, who was WAY over the hill at the time.
So, to compare, Kessler beat the champ to get the title, Lacy fought for a vacant title.
I'm not saying that Kessler is better than Lacy, or that he's not, because let's face it; none of us will know until they fight. I'm just saying that, from a sporting point of view, Kessler doesn't need to justify himself to fight Lacy. They're Title holders, they're peers, and until they fight, they're equals.
