What do you guys think is kessler going to get the winner of the lacy calzogi fight or is the winner going to take any easy next fight. We all know Beyer will not step up to any of the other 3 nor will he leave germany not to mention Beyer would get KOed by all the lacy calz and kessler.
does he deserve it?maybe, he seems pretty good, but who has he beat? (seriously wondering)
wil he??No. calzaghe and lacy no they have more fame and money in fights at LH and middle
Well if that's true, it's good then. That's what I'm talking about. He'll get his shot if he is really that impressive.
But do you nonestly believe Lacy and Calzaghe is too scared of Kessler? That's JUST FUCKI'N dumb. Some people have the habbit of insulting and pulling down other fighters just to make their fighters look good. STUPID remarks.
My point is, Lacy doesn´t want to fight a guy to whom he could loose. Not unless he would be really well payed. Kessler would not be able to present the payoff. Kessler made an offer before, when Calzaghe pulled out for a moment, he would pay the same 1mill$ as he wanted to get for going to the US. - Now why wouldn´t he do that? A WBA belt is worth something? could it be the risk didn´t apeal to him for that kind of money?
I think so..
But hey, what do you guys think. What line up should Kessler face in the future, before the reaches the status he would need not to be ignored?

In an ideal wold this might be true.
In the real world looking as promissing as Kessler - COMBINED with being unknown to a wider audience, is more likely to ensure that Kessler WON'T get the big fights.
A guy like Lacy MIGHT want to fight Kessler. But behind Lacy is a guy called Shaw, who is by every account a shrewd businessman. He's gonna steer Lacy in other directions.
As for Calzaghe - he's allready made it clear he's got no intention of facing Kessler
You can make an argument that they are not "scared" of him. Do they really wanna fight him? That's an other question. The kid is tuff. At this point fighting him isn't worth the effort for what they'd get back.
I'm saying as of now it would. Of course he'll be a bigger name if he stops Calzaghe. He'll be an American hero when the USA is in a period of looking for its face as a fighter.
Of course it would sell better because people know TARVER. Lacy is not a name yet, although they are trying to market him as one. Boxing is in a sad state right now when you consider the biggest names involved are Antonio Tarver, Winky Wright, and Arturo Gatti. I'd say Hopkins and Jones, but they are both virtually finished. Tarver will be an even BIGGER name after he beats Hopkins. That is why a fight with Lacy will sell, not because Jeff Lacy is involved, but because Tarver is numero uno in boxing hoy en dia.
I think your underestimating the number of people that know Lacy, plus you also have to take into consideration Lacy's popularity will grow more assuming he wins next saturday.
Saying the fight would be marketed simply because of Tarver is stupid.

Lacy has not made himself a big enough name to make big $$$. Look at Mayweather. He's just NOW making big money and we all knew he was the man as early as 98-99. It takes YEARS before you can say, "I want big money fights". Lacy has not been in one meaningful fight yet. Calzaghe will be his breakthrough performance. If he wins, Lacy needs to clean up 168, THEN he can say give me more money. Until then, you gotta be kidding.
The public in general decides if he makes the big money fights, not 'hardcore' boxing fans. You can already see his popularity growing by the ESPN superbowl commerical spot and various other things.. just because most deep boxing fans don't think he's had any decisive fights yet, means nothing as to whether or not the public will accept him and want to see him. It's not a case of Kessler not being worthy of a fight, it's that Jeff Lacy is a name now in the 'general' boxing publics eye, whether you like it or not diego. And a fight with Tarver (who the public also knows) would easily sell better than a fight with a virtually unknown Mikkel Kessler.
BTW, Jeff's not the type of guy to say "give me more money", even you know that.
Well, and see can you blame Lacy, even though he's always willing to fight the best, for him wanting to go up and fight Tarver in a much-better marketable fight (aka $$$) than a fight with Kessler? If HBO can get Kessler a few good fights televised and get him more recognition in the United States, it'd def. help Kessler's case for those that don't know him yet.

Lacy wants the big money, cause he´d know, he would be selling the belt(s).

What would be Lacy´s most difficult opponent? A guy with a strong jab, long reach, speed and punch. Kessler is exactly that kind of a fighter, and he wouldn´t let Lacy in to the fight. Lacy wants the big money, cause he´d know, he would be selling the belt(s).
Lacy is going to beat Calzaghe. I'd say Kessler is the only real threat to him unless he moves up to light heavy.
I do believe they will fight however, and the fight will be close as fuck. There is no way to predict the outcome of that one, and don't give me this Lacy by K.O. 1. Calzone maybe, Kessler is a better fighter IMO and can catch you at the end of his punches. He's pretty lengthy and powerful at 6'2.

As far as Joe is considered the winner of the fight between him and Lacy determines who is the best in the division so if he wins he is moving up, maybe if he fights for a light heavy title, then Tarver then retirement. Although I reckon if Joe loses against Lacy he retires.
Assuming Lacy wins next saturday, he'll give Kessler a shot, not so sure what Calzaghe would do though..
btw, yeah i have noticed HBO taking a liking to him (Kessler), and you know how HBO is with fighters.
:D Yeah right too scared.
Tell Kessler to get his ass in the U.S. and have himself be introduced to the boxing public and to the promoters so somebody would spend money to promote his fights. That's more real buddy.
Skills alone won't give any fighter big fights that's a fact. Marketibility comes in first.
Kessler just came back from promotion tour in the US.
He is planning to move to the US if a deal i settled, He is and has been talking to HBO (they contacted him). He knows he is by far the strongest, and dont mind bringing the fight to who ever is wort fighting. Now that´s real buddy!!
Yeah right and you believe on Santa Claus,Kessler are too strong for them and he will outbox both
I agree. I saw Kessler fight and he's the best man by far in the 168 division. Lacy would never land a power punch on him and Kessler would hit him at will. Kessler is really really impressive.
