Iam sick to death of hearing how Roy had poor opposition....but who was ther for him to fight  cant think of anybody, he wiped out three divs and even claimed a portion of the heavy title.....give him his dues, he ducked noone
Roy fought some good opposition mostly erly in his career. Pazienza, griffin, hopkins, toney, and he beat Ruiz and he beat Tarver once should have left it alone tho. RJJ is the man leave him alone. He's smart he made money, won belts, made history and still has his health not too many boxers can say that.
roy should be fighting b hop and he'll hang his gloves after the fight amd for b hop too its time to retire guys..thanks for the great fights.. future hall of famers
We all know Eubank can punch, look what he did to Steve Collins. When Ronnie Davies gave him a slap after round 9 and told him to turn the clocks back, suddenly it was as if the pre-Watson had returned Eubank because within seconds of the bell ringing for round 10 he had Collins down for the first time in Collins career,Collins was clearly there for the taking but Eubank could not finish Collins or didnt even try because of those terrible images of Michael Watson flashing through his mind and so he just preened and posed instead.

Yeah! How could we forget the British invasion of the late 80's and early 90's we americans such as Michael Nunn,Hearns,Toney never fought these fighters for whatever reasons and you know reluctant Roy would make up a excuse not to engage in war.
lol, Roy ducked the great supermiddleweights like the plague.
Instead he fought fighters who weren't even rated in the top ten apart from Toney.
Roy could of been so much greater, but he should of fought the best instead of fighting fighters who had no chance of winning.
I guess these worthy champions must of slipped his mind.
Eubank
Benn
Julian Jackson
Gerlad mcclelan
Collins
Darius
Michael Nunn
Frankie Liles

Graciano Rocchigiani was offering Jones big money. Rocky claimed that he was the true WBC light-heavy champ.. why didn't Jones fight him and prove himself the real champ? Maybe that Rocky was a rough, tough 6ft2 southpaw had something to do with it.
roy fought richard hall, a rough tough, never been down 6 foot 4 southpaw. roy knocked him down twice in the first round and then won every round after in one of the most one sided bouts in light heavyweight history. jones tko's him in the 11th.
Collins was ROBBED against Reggie Johnson, what fight were you watching?? And Reggie Johnson was a very good fighter back then, and not a very good fighter when he fought Jones (it sounds abit twattish, but it's truth).
I don't believe he was robbed at all. Johnson was still very good when he fought Roy. Don't make up stuff. He was not that old and he still obviously had skill, and gave Tarver a shitload of problems around that time.
Additionally...the Roch liked to fight in Deutschland. There is nothing to suggest his offer was legit or that he would have fought in America. He certainly was NOT well known in America, so it is understandable that he and Roy never hooked up.
Chris Eubank,The Autobiography(2003)
People always ask me why I never fought Roy Jones. The reason is simple,Roy Jones was never my mandatory contender. If he had been my mandatory I would of fought him,I am a professional. I can say this about a Roy Jones fight: Roy Jones would of come out of the fight in bad shape, but I would of come out worse off!
I began my career in America but I was wary about fighting there later in my career because it was a real jungle out there, everyone fighting damn hard for the top. I was content to stay a big fish in a small pond and make my money in the UK.
Holy shit....Eubank is far more realistic about himself than friggin' JUYJUY is.
Figures, I never thought I was as great as the girls who blew me did.

Ill try to find if Eubank says anything about Roy Jones junior in his book, and anything about fighting in the states. Ill post it back here tomorrow what I can find.
Superlightweight,Collins was competent in the first eight years of his career,a decent boxer. But he dropped everything later on his career, for the last two years of his career he changed his boxing style into a rugged pressure slugger who relied on his own chin and toughness to wear away opponents- that Collins was a world-beater,a marauding warrior.
Steve Collins tried his best to use boxing skill, but came unstuck against fighters like Reg Johnson and Kalumbay because they were simply slicker than he was. He knew he couldnt outslick Eubank,so he just went at him nonstop like a maniac. JuyJuy I wouldnt say Collins was robbed against Reg Johnson,he had no complaints took it like a man even though it was a close fight. I personally scored Collins v Johnson as six rounds each, neither man was all that great on the night. Pretty uneventful fight.

Nobody had heard of Collins before he fought Eubank.
Those fights with McCallum, Johnson and Kalambay were very minor, and he got paid barely anything. His fights against Eubank and Benn were fucking huge, and he made millions.
Wrong. Collins had fought on ESPN against guys like Tony Thornton..Fermin Chirino.
The McCallum fight was in between those two.
I, & I'm sure anyone who followed boxing, was aware of who he was.
When did you say you started following boxing ?
Jorge Castro and Sugarboy Malinga were good wins,Malinga probably the best win of his career outside of Toney, then the domination of Toney,1995 had no good win,1996 had no good win,Bernard Hopkins win only looked good 10 years later. Im afraid to say that the list of fighters he didnt fight is hall of fame stuff, and lets not forget that he was never the man at any weight he fought at,never linear.
Collins won all of his biggest fights, beating Eubank and Benn twice each
No. He beat Benn in 96, when Benn was a shadow of his former self. He also barely beat a moderately past his prime Eubank.
Furthermore:
Kalambay W12 Collins
Johnson MD12 Collins
McCallum UD12 Collins
Roy smoked Johnson all night. Collins, well...no.
Your comments on Eubank and his "rejuvination" are inconsequential.
