Just made a quick clip of Sheika rocking Lacy early in their fight. Would Joe be better at following up? Sheika allowed Lacy to hold and cover up and recover pretty easily. Took a lot of steam out of Lacy, which is why Sheika won the first half of their fight. Then Lacy came on strong down the stretch when Sheika didn't have anything left.
March 4th is going to be an awesome night...
of course anyone getting hit with a wild haymaker of a punch on the side of the head/eye is going to get shaked up a bit...
it is how they recover that makes them true champions...
if anything, this just helps Lacy's case...he can take a great shot, recover, and continue about his business...
I agree somewhat. It does show Lacy has a solid chin. But that shot (and the point of this thread) points out that the one shot changed the fight and how Lacy fought it. He turned into a very ordinary fighter for the next several rounds following that punch, losing them, and wasn't his explosive self at any point after that. Sheika got tired and outworked down the stretch, but was never hurt or rocked in the fight. Lacy showed excellent stamina in the fight, also, so that's a good sign for Lacy fans as well. Because he hasn't gone 10-12 rounds since then.
But yes, you can also interpret that as Lacy "passing a test." And feel comforted somewhat in knowing that Calzaghe isn't going to stop Lacy with any one punch.
I'm picking Lacy, mainly because of his youth and condition. I this fight is probably going to be decided by who can outwork the other in the championship rounds.
Calzaghe can hurt Lacy. I think most people know that. But to say Joe is washed up is at least premature and possibly a bullshit excuse so as to discredit Lacy should he beat Joe.
Joe is not washed up, and has not looked washed up. He may not be in his prime, but if Joe is as good as all the Brits say he is, then being a tiny bit past his prime shouldn't be enough to keep him from beating Lacy.
Anyway...Lacy TKO9 Calzaghe.
he doesnt look rocked to me, he took that punch pretty well and blocked the rest of them, if u think hes rocked there u havent seen shit...
Are you stupid or do you have shit in you eye,Lacy was shaken

Lacy will finish Joe...
end of story

Lacy are so overrated,he has only fought handpicked opponent
The only thing in today's boxing that is more overrated than Lacy is Lacy's KO power
Lacy is considered a big puncher, but he was not able to floor Syd Vanderpool or bum Rubin Williams
Vanderpool was clean outed by an unknown Alejandro Berrio from Colombia. Lacy was not even able to floor Syd.
Boxing Bum Rubin Williams is rated no. 169 but still gave Lacy a competitive fight. Lacy was not able to floor this bum
Scott Pemberton was skin-dead 5 years before Lacy faced him - small Peter Manfredo Jr did hand The Sandman much easier than hyped Lacy
You're pathetic. You truly are. Except, you're a stubborn moron. Admit your stupid ass was wrong by taking a half a second clip and claiming Lacy was rocked. At least give us a couple of seconds moron. Because anyone can look good in a half a second clip when one punch is thrown and landed.
That half a second clip didn't tell the story of the fight. Sheika's face told the story of the fight. Sheika's career nosedive tells the story of the fight.
But this genius here (sarcasm) thinks this biased and slanted clip is the tell all.
Got it? Or should I enlarge the text?
Lacy was rocked. LOL Yeah, the clip is 2 seconds long, but he was still rocked. I could have made it larger and it could have taken everyone twice as long to dl, but why? Everyone knows Lacy held on and recovered. I just trimmed away the fat.
The fact is that Lacy lost the next 4 rounds after eating that punch. Just the fact that he nodded to his corner 30 seconds later to tell them he was ok should by itself clue you in that he was definitely rocked.
But the more I read of your nonsense, the more I realize that you haven't even seen that fight. I was really posting the clip as a "refresher" to those who had seen the fight already. If you're mad that it wasn't longer, then trade or download the entire fight and watch it for the first time. It was a pretty decent one. You might enjoy it.

No, that's just what you got out of it, because you are simple. And a total bandwagoner.
I posted Lacy getting rocked by a punch in the middle of the second round. Everyone who has seen the fight knows that punch changed that fight. Yes, Lacy recovered well by holding and covering up, but it doesn't change the fact that Lacy, who came out big and won the 1st and was his usual self early in the 2nd before he got tagged, lost the next 4 rounds in which he was suddenly more timid and lethargic and less effective. Sheika, however, allowed himself to get outworked and Lacy needed to sweep every round down the stretch in order to win- and did so.
I think that fight is the one glimmer of hope that those picking Calzaghe have. Lacy got stunned early, became more timid, got outworked, but eventually came on to sweep the second half of the fight- if he loses one round down the stretch then he doesn't win the fight. Would Calzaghe lose 6 rounds in a row by being outhustled? I don't think so. But can Joe get Lacy's respect and attention early without getting caught and hurt himself? Not sure about that.
I do try to talk real boxing here sometimes- which is lost on most 14 yr olds here, I know- but I'm hoping for all the "BLOODSHEDS" who mindlessly bleat "Lacy KO 3" and "Lacy will kill Joe" that there are a few others who appreciate serious boxing strategy and analysis.

Yeah with all do respect. I heard all of the "serious strategy" and "boxing analysis" pre Lacy v.s. Reid.
All about how Reid is a great counterpuncher.....how he was Lacy's biggest test....how he was the wrong opponent for Lacy.....how Americans overrate Lacy and Reid is going to expose him.
yaddi yadda.
People who have been exposed to boxing here in the states and have drawn comparisons between European fighters....and American fighters....can easily draw one conclusion.
Americans are better fighters. That is an automatic advantage going into the fight.
Dude it's like a french guy trying to compete with a Kenyan in a distance running marathon......Not going to happen.
That's just the way the cookie crumbles. We're better.

Yes, Junior Jones beat MAB twice. Is he a better fighter?
Pemberton looked terrible against Lacy and is obviously way the worse for wear after those wars with Sheika. Evidenced by the way Manfredo handled him.
Some fighters have other fighters numbers but they aren't necessarily better fighters IMHO. Sheika definitely came to win against Lacy and because he was able to land something early and wasn't intimidated, he was also his toughest fight. Pemberton stood up straight as an arrow in front of Lacy with ZERO head movement- just asking to get KO'd. Whoever is looking at the Pemberton fight and thinking that's the way Mar 4th will go down- an early 1 punch KO- is going to be disappointed I think.
hes worse for the wear, but he won those fights
pemberton beat skeika twice.....

Well, is it any coincidence that Lacy's worst performance to date came against the best fighter he's faced to date? And it came in a fight where he got rocked early on, taking some of that explosiveness out of him, I think. Reid and Pemberton were clearly past it...I wouldn't look at those fights too hard.
I think this is going to be a much tougher task for Lacy than most here do.
One question, if anyone knows... Do either or both fighters have rematch clauses?
pemberton beat skeika twice.....
You played devil's advocate and stupid fool at once.
You took a half a second clip from a 36 minute fight and tried to imply Lacy was hurt.
No one can definitively say if he was hurt from a half a second clip.

Well, you call me a dumbass and then ask a question that has already been answered in this thread. Ironic.
Try reading occasionally instead of thinking you know everything. You're a simple bandwagoner.
Here's what I said earlier in the thread:
"Just injecting a little bit of perspective since most feel this will be a Lacy domination. It might very well be, but I do like playing Devil's Advocate sometimes. :-) I favor Lacy as well, but I'm not sleeping on Joe like most of you are..."
You're an all-around dumb ass.
Tell me you're picking Calzaghe to KTFO Lacy?

C'mon man, this argument is bullshit, and for some reason American fans appeal to it all the time. Is it okay for American fighters to fight only in America? If you're going to criticize Calzaghe for not fighting here, you'd have to go after a lot of American guys who don't want to fight on the Continent.
Are you being serious?
The United States of America is the mecca of boxing. There are better fighters who reside here.
Don't tell me Europe produces better fighters than US and Mexico.
