is gatti a natural left hander, or are you referring to him switching in the damgaard fight? it seems to me that in recent times, you see more orthodox stance fighters switching to southpaw stance during a fight (gatti-damgard or even morales-pacman 1) 1) if these are converted lefties (like oscar is supposed to be) I don't know, but I am pretty sure it's not the case with morales 2) southpaw fighters have a long history of switching during fights because they are always trained at least a little bit in orthodox fighting. so when i see a lefty switching i am not as surprised. 3) the main answer i would think of is clowning (I think it was you suggesting that), but I would be surprised if mcgirt trained gatti to switch southpaw for showing off

What's wrong with Gatti switching stances? He was setting up his left hook by going southpaw. I think anyone should do it if it gives you an advantage in a fight. It's not Gatti's fault that Damgard has no defence. look I think you get my point: gatti is not exactly sweet pea. if damgard has no defense, why would you need to switch to set up a right hook?
