Former IBF Bantamweight Champion and 1992 Olympic Bronze Medalist Tim Austin (27-1 -1, 24 KOs), who is currently ranked #8 in the January WBC ratings, is chomping at the bits to fight superstar Manny Pacquiao in spring in the Philippines.
"Friday Night Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach was quoted as saying to me to wait in line; but I am waiting at the start of the queue mate", 'The Cincinnati Kid' said in a mock British accent in issuing a formidable challenge to Pacquiao." "I'll challenge Pacquiao in May in the Philippines and Erik “El Terrible” Morales in Mexico in September", said Tim in boldly predicting an upset if the match occurs.

This guy just wouldn't stop...
Tim Austin would get brutally ass raped againt Pac.
NO Austin was never a better boxer than Morales in any aspect.
Luck had nothing to do with him getting worked against Marquez, Austin jumped out early, but Marquez started cutting off the ring and getting to him then he finsihed him in devastating fashion.
The reason he was off so long was not only because of coke, but because he got arrested for rape. He was chearged with raping a 16 year old girl, but I think he eventually settled out of court or some shit like that.
No way does he even deserve a shot at either Marquez or Pac. He needs to work his way back up if he can.
You have Austin all wrong. He is known for his boxing abilities and creating angles, much more so than Morales EVER was. Austin just got tagged by Marquez...and there's no shame in getting KO'd by that beast.
Austin is definitely too small to deal with Pacquaio.
Tim Austin is a serious contender, defended his title more than 8 times, he lost to Rafael Marquez by TKO, but he was winning that fight before the knockout, 68-65 all for Austin, he got knocked out with a lucky punch, seen this fight 5 times.
It wasn't a lucky punch, he was starting to get very beaten in the last round and the round before. Marques was too much for him that night and it was widely rumored Austin was heavilly into drugs outside the rign, which I think is why he took such an extended break after that fight.
As it is now, there's no way he should be fighting Manny. He was a 122lber and there's no way he should jump to fight Manny at 130 without a few tune up fights.
I don't think this will happen for Manny's upcoming tune up fight.
I guess the main thing about this would be the age difference. At 34-35? he most likely can't keep up with Manny. Especially as they say a featherweight's life expendancy is like up to age 30 and then your old. At 34-35, his reflexes are surely not the same and I doubt his body can go through the power punching that Manny would put him through. You definitely need a body that can soak up the shots and I don't know anyone else that could as well as Morales did, oh maybe Barrera.
I really can't imagine Austin being competitive in this fight, he simply doesn't have it in him to be great like that. First off, in his prime he was fighting once a year. He showed a vulnerable chin in his fights with Marquez and Vorapin. His power is not exactly great, and hes way too small. He is on the way out, and I can't imagine him having too many more good fights left in him. Pacquiao KO2.
Why does he deserve to fight Manny Pacquiao. He might have been a bantamweight champion, but he needs to get in line. Their are other boxers who are ahead of him.
This guy can pose a seriously threat to Manny. He's probably hits harder than Manny, and has better boxing skills. It could be like a Raheem with power against Manny. I wouldn't accept this, especially for a tune up.
