I personally believe that Pacquiao's credentials far exceed the minimum to get into Canastota, and hes only 27. He won the WBC Flyweight title, ko'ed Ledwaba for he IBF 122 Lb title, ko'ed Barrera and Morales along the way, and is willing to fight anyone. What do you think? What can he do, aside from KO Marquez in the rematch, to enhance his legacy further?
Pac beating one of my favorite "all-time" great in Barrera for those belts would be icing on the cake, IF MAB gets by Chavez.
your posts and your nickname are a strange combination indeed
hey guys here is a link from a hall of fame elector on PAC and Espinosa...

"I believe Pacquiao may have cinched enshrinement with his performance against Morales. Had he lost again it would have been held against him even though he had beaten Barrera. They would just say that Pacquiao won because Barrera had so many distractions. But Manny won the rematch and did so in spectacular fashion, and that is going to improve his chances greatly. I think Manny's body of work may overcome any qualms this elector might have about his longevity as a champion. Great fighters win great fights and Pacquiao has done that.
Luisito Espinosa is another case, however. I would say he's borderline at best though he had a very good reign at featherweight. I would consider him, but I doubt that he will ever be enshrined. As for Pacquiao, I think he’ll be honored in Canastota someday."
His fight's against MAB amd Morrales, hey he beat the best of the best in his division. JMM? I give Marquez a ton of credit for his ability to get floored and come back to fight a brillant boxers type of fight. Does Manny deserve to be in HOF? You bet your ass he does. He beat two all time greats in MAB and Barrera. He didn't decision these guys. He K.O.ed them. So anybody giving a nod to Barrea and Morales for the HOF should give Pac the same consideration. Biased or not, Manny P. deserves to be in the HOF. And if Pac fights any of these guys again, it will get ugly. The guy get's stronger and stronger by each fight...

what he can do is keep not running take every challenger that comes his way, even if he has to move to 135 or down to 126 he is the best so people are going to want to fight him, the longest he doesnt duck anybody and the rematches with jmm and MAB win or lose i see him hall of fame in a couple of years
I'd say his growing stopped at 122lbs. He was asking to fight Barrera for along time at that weight. Of course he'd end up moving to 126lbs for the fight though he went up for that challenge specifically. Even though he had 1 or 2 fights at the weight before finally getting the match with Barrera to materialize. Then 130lbs of course to catch Morales. Being that he weighed in at an easy 128lbs for the rematch, I would not at all want him to go to 135lbs. If you can make a weight that is above your best weight comfortably, then why go into a terroritory that is going to heavily disadvantage you? Shit, he's gonna look like a 122 pounder fighting the 135 pounders because there will be definitely a huge size difference.
not necessarily bro...manny walks around at 140-145lbs...the thing is he can lose weight easily than other boxers can. i'd say manny's optimum fighting weight is 126lbs.

can u give me another fighter who ahs done that? on what manny would be accomplishing if he won that lightweight belt
Roberto Duran fought his first pro fight weighing in at 118, at the age of 17 I think
in 1989 he beat iran barkley for the wbc 160 pound title, weighing in at 156 pounds, later he won some bogus title at 168, too
anyway I would be greatly impressed if pac won a title at 135, unless he takes it from barrera. ;)
also a good way to see what's a fighter natural weight is to check his weight by fight night, based on that pacman is surely smaller than morales (or corrales, mayweather) but he is not completely out of the water at 130... he does not look like roy jones at hw or de la hoya at mw
and coming back to the initial question, with today's standards he would have done enough to be inducted when he was flyweight champ in 99: even if for 2 fights, only he was lineal!
That's not my point, he's a HOFer for sure!
My point is, people act like he chose to move up in weight for a challenge(at lower weights) but it was his body GROWING...
i guess you could say that for 108, 112, 118, 122 & 126 but definitely not for 130, (132) & 135 where he is undoubtedly chasing for higher glories by fighting em, mab and other tough fighters out there. everybody knows that his best weight is at 126. :boxing:
That's because he went pro at 17!
It's not like he won titles in every weight class...

easily, after beating MAB who is known as one of the best featherweights ever, split with morales, with his win as a KO, and kd'd a great fighter in JMM 3 times. nuff said
With the way the IBHOF is run, Pacquiao would have made it long ago. They pretty much let everyone in. Now, Pacquiao probably deserves to be enshrined.
