TAYLOR VS. WRIGHT ON HBO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING THIS JUNE!
Sources close to the situation have informed **********.com that promoters Lou DiBella and Gary Shaw have been looking to secure a venue in Las Vegas, Nevada as the host of one of the best fights in boxing, Jermain Taylor-Winky Wright. Although contracts have yet to be signed, **********.com also understands that HBO deserves some major props for putting up enough money to ensure that the Taylor-Wright middleweight championship take place on World Championship Boxing. Should a deal be finalized in the coming days Taylor's plans to fight in April will be scrapped so he can face Wright in June.
lol, do you know how long Winky Wright has been fighting professionally?
a long time, which is the only reason he is getting a title shot. i actully like winky, but he is a boring fighter whos not much of a draw. hes a technical wizard though
Winky needs some more big fights. He is on a roll since the first Mosley bout. Maybe he should fight on ESPN to get exposure. But there is a chance of it backfiring if Winky bores the fans out of there minds.

Taylor won every round against Joppy.
After Joppy was knocked down, all he did was run & survive.
well, um, yes, that's basically what i said..
Well than what did you call Taylor/Joppy?
i call that a young, prospective middleweight in there with a fighter who literally quit in the last few rounds because he just didn't care anymore.
And okay, before anyone else tries to shout out some more technicalities with the 'Taylor's never dominated' comment... i'm sure early on he's had some one-sided wins because of the level of competition, which of course, is not going to be as high when first starting out as a pro. So if you're about to type something such as, "Well, i saw him fight on the undercard of such-and-such in 2001 and he stopped the guy real early, it was like his 3-4th fight", you can save it. He's a young guy, i'm basically covering the last 1-2 years since his name has become known, but also taking nothing away from his wins.
I favor winky because Taylor's style is not all that polished. He did very well against Hopkins but that was because of Hopkin's style. Hopkins carries a fight through the rounds at a slow pace and relies on his dominance of this pace game he plays, he's like a racecar drafting to carry his momentum passed the lead car at the end. Taylor is a good fighter and will be a better one but right now Winky is at the top of his game and is known for his well polished and utylized style.
winky's ganna make taylor look worse than he made tito look!
not trying to start an argument, but this is a pretty irrational thing to say, seeing as taylor is in his prime, fighting his natural weight and obviously is not one dimensional, he has great skills
Ok, just let you know I have special powers. Check this thread I started 2 days before the Pac & Morales fight.

If I were I will not put a penny on Winky.
LOL......That was good but we will see.
I agree. The problem is that Taylor should never have had the belts in the first place, and therefore should not have been able to have that advantage over B-Hop in the second fight.
Agreed completely.....
This is a good post.......Taylor did more in the second fight and since he was the Champ he did not deserve to lose.....Just like Hopkins did not deserve to lose the first fight. The Challenger has to TAKE the title IMO.
