Winky Wright--why rated so high p4p??

good point!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriouly, people forget about this HUGE aspect of the sport. :rolleyes:

Since Margarito cant get any fights at Welter, I would like to see him step up to Jr middle. I would be awsome to see him fight winky. It will be the biggest crowd for Winky, thats for sure. Well, another brilliant post as always by many :rolleyes: Winky's age isn't too big of a deal. He's not a power fighter, nor speed/reflexes. His boxing ability is almost purely mental and stylistic and it will allow him to box for many more years to come if he so chooses. thanks. I know Im the best. Jermain will give him that L on his record just watch. Jermain is mo talented, mo skilled and mo athletic that Winky. All Winky has on Jermain is defense.

Because he has skill! His defense is outstanding and he still has the ability to score points. Winky is a true BOXER. Which some of you don't think boxing is about.... boxing. But instead, knocking someone out.

Why is Wright rated so high on many people's p4p list? Is it because he beat two smaller fighters in Trinidad and Mosley? I don't understand why some people put him as #1 or #2... He's a one dimensional, forward plodding fighter with a good jab (which he relies on, hardly throwing power shots) and a tight defense. He is one dimesional in the sense you don't really have to worry about his power but he is one of the soundest,most skilled fighters out right now and he Wins which is really all that matters and he does not win close or undecisive he wins....... period and will beat taylor IMO.

Mosley x2, Trinidad, and fights that could've gone either way with Harry Simon and Vargas. He's been all around the world and beaten many solid opponents. He's got no major flaw in his gameplan that any person can point out and at this points seems almost unbeatable at middle weight. 50-3 also is one of the best active fighter's record and he hasn't lost in 5+ years.

I don't see how he could be ranked high at the moment as he beats a Tito that came out of retirement to pummel a nonranked p4p Mayorga. He then takes on a no name, Sam Soliman and was nearly beat. His really shining moments were his 2 wins over Mosley...Mr. Sour Shane Mosley that is.

he's is high because he thoroughly dominated mosley and trinidad. Some even say he was the first to beat Vargas. I personally don't rate him Top 3 because those spots go to people like mayweather, barrera, pac in no particular order i agree completely. the top three should be pbf, pac, mab... very close

cause he is so hard to beat, his 3 loses 1 is by UD in which he was kncoked down 5 times and yet the scores will still close! a MD lose to this hary simon guy who i guess i heard was suppose to be good, and a MD to varg-ass which some peeps see winky winning he also has wins over fighters that are good and great 50-3 is a good record

High defense, no offense which is why I date rate him too highly. Right there is the answer to why he is rated so high. His defense, and that makes him an obstacle for virtually anyone he faces. Definitely a criteria in formulating a P4P list. You're only referring to his opposition. Hell, John Ruiz has the best record of any true heavyweight in the division right now......and yet conscensus is he is by no means the best heavyweight.
