Rodel Mayol knocks out Lorenzo Trejo in the 4th round.. This guy is impressive.. If you havent seen him fight then I suggest you do.. He's a boxer/puncher/counter puncher.. he's a complete fighter.
Calderon has no power, easy win for Mayol.
Bad style match-up. I've seen fights of Mayol (leeched from Pacland :D ), he's got power alright, technically sound fighter too; but, I reckon Calderon would just run around and outbox him.
look at my sig, those two will end his career as soon as he steps in the ring with 1 of em.
Vincent Escobedo is a joke. I like Abner Mares though :D
I kinda agree with the Puertoriquenos here.
I think Calderon's style is a bad match-up for Mayol's.
Calderon is lika a little sweet pea in the minimumweight division .
I this two were to fight, I see Calderon winning it by a UD in a boring ass fight.
Omar Soto vs Mayol is a better match-up in my opinion. ;)
If he fights Calderon he will loose. ;)
mayol needs to beat a proven fighter before he squares with calderon. don't count mayol out, the kid is a complete fighter that can create problem for calderon. :boxing:
You forget, thats three out of our top five, Fres was gonna get the IBF from Bryd, but than they screwed him, and gave him a shot at Ruiz's ABC belt (which is well deserved, since Heaveyweight speaking, he sucks). Taylor beat Hopkins, Calzaghe is Euro, Margarito had lost to Santos, Brewster (?), Corrales olds two belts (lost one? was cheated out of one), Cotto hmm.
Not much respect there, I would say. Its respected, but what it take to get a shot at the IBF?
It's very subjective anyway. In my eyes, some of the WBO champions are the best, but I can understand if some disagree with my vision.
Bro, you heard Chups
"I have most of his fights. Mayol is a very hard puncher.
Kyowa has the better belts...Calderon has WBO.... high risk low reward". That is the presetion people have. The IBF is the most widely respected belt out there, one reason why Trinidad might be so highly, and well known today, because he held that motherfucker for 17 defenses. I just dont understand how so many PR's could held WBO's n shit. Take a look yourself, I'm just saying it seems odd. You could say I'm a "conpricey theoriest", but take a look :D
I know. Cotto, Ivan, and Daniel had it, but I think the WBO has established itself as a legit organization. Check each WBO champion and you will notice that some of them are one of the best if not the best champion in the division. Calderón, Corrales, Cotto, Margarito, Taylor, Calzaghe, and Brewster.
I know, I bite my tongue for awhile until I seen your racail post, cause I've been scanning through records, and I've noticed PR's stuck with the ABC belts, almost all the time. Looking at Calderon, you'd think he'd be good enough for the IBF. :D
Sarcasm or do you really think the IBF is #1? If anything, I think that WBC is the most respected. Still, I think that all organizations have been bullshit with their rankings lately.
I was impressed with eagle kyowa or whatever. he's for real i think. i missed the rodel fight because i don't have tv azteca. what idiot promoter put a fight on a channel with only 12 viewers?
yeah but asians have seen calderon fight, but usa people haven't seen those others fight. heck, all we've seen fight from that whole division is calderon and whoever he is beating up. so people will be in a big surprise if calderon fights one of those guys and loses.
Some Americans dont have him in the top five :haha: .
Reason which as a Puerto Rican, he holds the WBO, and not he IBF.
To me, I don't care about the belt. Calderón has incredible skills and once he gets into unification fights, he'll prove he is the best. It's not that I am biased because of nationality, it's just that Calderón has skills that can rank up there with those of Floyd. Ivan just needs the chance to prove what he has.
from what i have heard, calderon isn't as top as it would appear to us american fans. some people i talk to from asian countries say that they don't even have calderon in their top 5 at his weight. mayol I knew would blow away his opponent. that eagle guy is good too, he's probably the best. him and calderon would be a really good fight.
Asians don't have Calderón in the top 5. Well, what's the surprise? It looks like racial bias to me. Ivan is one of the most skilled fighters in the sport today.

i can say he's almost a complete fighter..
he's got power on both hands and has good defense..
i think he's better than boom boom..
IMHO, he's the nxt big thing in Phil. boxing aside from manny of course..
