Valuev is following the Klitschkos' Footsteps: Fighting Owen Beck

People should only think about their favorite fighters and stop hating other people's favorite fighters. I only think about the Klitschkos and some other fighters, but other than this no other fighters do I think of. I dont care about the other fighters. If that's the way you think, you'll have to forgive those of us who are much more of a boxing fan and have different opinions on many fighters, rather than simply a fan of a certain fighter(s).

I'd prefer he turned out like the Klitschkos so then I could actually believe seeing him vs a good fighter will actually be close, instead of him getting blown out of the water. And FYI, I don't recall swearing to ever be a sin or anything worthy of being damned over. then why be christian if u can do everything that non christian people do????

Valuev's level of opposition in 2005 was actually better than most top HW's, with wins over Levin, Etienne, Donald and Ruiz. He's taking a match with Beck as a safe defense- this is simply King not wanting to risk Valuev losing the belt before he can setup a megafight in Germany with Wlad. Valuev is not the only top HW to take cake opposition lately- Toney's last fight was against Guinn (1-2-1 in his 4 going into the fight) which got him a title shot, and Byrd fought only once in 2005, sitting around completely healthy dodging Wladimir, and finally defends his title a guy that just lost to Wlad. So let's not single Valuev out and make him out to be the only top HW who fights creampuffs. Really, Brewster and Wlad are the only top HW's who actually challenged themselves and won in '05. The rest of the top HW's should be ashamed of their year last year for the most part.

want to add in here that i believe both brewster and byrd have a year or so to fight wlad. it comes down to whoever signs the contract first. that would seemingly be byrd since he is no longer under dkp. but either way they both have to fight the wladster. the only question i'm wondering about is wether byrd or brewster can fight someone else before facing wk. now, if the whole valuev/beck fight goes down, that is somewhat pitifull. he should at least pick a guy who won his last fight. and taking a quick peak at the heavyweight rankings, beck is not ranked in the top ten in any of the four divisions. i know it's his first defence, but most heavyweight champs pick a guy who is at least ranked in the top ten or have won thier last fight.

Olympic medals don't mean jack. Have you seen Olympic boxing? It's a whole different animal as compared to professional boxing. In the Olympics, it's all about offense (mostly). Are you still grieving over Ruiz loss? Some fighters just suck and Russian fighters are among the best fighters side by side with Cubans. I do not see Mexicans or American fighters winning any Olympic medals, just fight in one-sided fights American promoters set up. :D

Picking Beck is a way of owning Valeuv, and he will keep owning Valeuv for the remaining 3 fight. :confused:So if this is the case, Valuev will be fighting 3 nobodies and then he will put him in front of Brewster :rolleyes:

The Olympics have been geared towards a less professional, less violent way to fighting. I would rather Americans never win another Olympic medal, than to conform & fight in a style more suitable for fencing. Body punching...is a skill....a true boxing skill. It has been made worthless by this way of scoring in international competition. Only poor and hungry countries can be succesfull in boxing, which, IMO, explains the Olympic success of Cuba and Russia. In contrast, the non-white America is no longer poor and hungry. I think scoring has had only a minor effect on the decline of America in the Olympic boxing.

Since I have been on this forum, the Klichkos have never lost. I think those who hate and despise Russian and Ukraina boxers should never hate or despise so much. You should instead use your energy more wisely. Use your energy to help your favorite fighters win instead of hoping and hating against the Klichkos and others to lose always.
