Wilfredo Gomez vs Pacman?

i agree with most others and think that gomez would win. Sanchez gave him trouble but pacquiao is not salvador sanchez or anywhere close in terms of boxing ability while applying the pressure. But pacquiao was so fucken impressive vs morales that you have to give him a shot.

He is also the greatest 122 fighter in the history of boxing. Yep, that he is. As far as who'd win between Gomez & Pacquiao, I'm with the majority on this one, as I think at his peak Gomez is simply on another level than is Pacquiao...He'd negate Pacquiao's speed & power with his own speed & great power, and his superior defensive skills (excellant at slipping & sliding away from an opponents), counterpunching ability, versatility (great long & short range skills, which featured both head & body attacks), etc, makes Wilfredo a pretty clear favourite with my eyes. For pure all-around boxing ability, I still to this day think that a peak Wilfredo Gomez may have been the single best talent that I've seen in my lifetime, and I've seen them all from about the last thirty years.

How about Lupe Pintor, and Carlos Zarate? The Sanchez/Gomez II fight would have been a great rematch. gomez is not good against pressure fighters...sanchez pressured the hell outta him and popped him good in the corner. How about Lupe Pintor, and Carlos Zarate? Amazing matchup. Wilfredo's record of 44W (42ko) and 3 losses by knockout is similar to Mannys. But that KO percentage is ridiculous! Too close for me to call. Just a total war. This would be a great war, a dream fight. Both fighters have great chins, one has superior power (Gomez). Id say that It would be a war ending in brutal KO with Gomez as the winner.
