This is baffling!
the theory is if a fighter moves up in weight he loses that power... and speed.
pacman started at 106 pounds and got stronger as he went up in weight....the guy went all the way up to 130 pounds!
not since roberto duran has a fighter made such jumps in divisions and still be a force.
Where in the hell does this guy get his power punch?
can someone post that pic of Eriks face? the nose was broken in at least 4 places and the worst area being the bridge between the eyes..which will be very hard to heal. it was a serious breakage since you can see how bloodshot the eyes of morales were. and how lumpy his face was.
I think pacman is too nice! he even said it at the end with big power comes big responsibility! He could have majorly hurt morales early! but he backed off now imagine if he was ferocious and not punching in flurries? he could kill that guy like he did when he was younger...you think he has become to soft?
He should just mean business and jump at the guy when he is hurt instead of backing off...Still the win was good storry for being to critical...this fight was better then the 1st.
Barrera vs pacman if barrera doesnt price himself out!
pacman should get the bigger money since his name is bigger then barrera's now! marco hasnt had a decent ppv in ages...
if my counting was right, only 4 experts here who predicted/or lean on a pac victory. but none of them said it could be a ko.
this victory proved them wrong. but hey, anyone could be wrong so let's just forget about it, cheers!!
That's why I rarely believe on experts analysis unless it's clearly a mismatch. Besides, boxing is not fought on papers. :)
that fight last night was absolutely amazing, Pacquiao has so much enexplainable power.. Manny's also a fighter that can really help carry the sport for the non-diehard boxing fans.

i honestly don't know how and where he get that power. i was even surprised he KO'ed Morales
What Im saying is that dude was bragging on how Pac is super because he carried his power from 106 to 130 and I said its not that special because Morales wasnt a true 130 pounder. We still dont know if Pacs power is super at 130 unless he can stop a guy like Chaves
Oh right got it now…
Evander? and he came mighty close to getting Ruiz and I cant even remeber how the Guinn fight ended
I was thinking straight up knock outs... the corner through in the towel.
you atleast got to name a real fighter. Anyone can KO a average guy.
Lmao thats messed up...give the guy respect he was never knocked out till he fought manny,
I love Toney but I don't recall a fight with him KO'ing any heavies.

I didn't really catch that!

what about James Toney? What he did is unheard of. Coming from Middle weight KOing Heavies

^your words are jambled man.
he koed Velasquez who fought at 130 and 135 his whole career.

Im not hating. Im just responding to him saying that how no one can carry power from that small until now like Pac just because he KO Morales. Morales himself started off at smaller weights so its not like he KO a guy like Chaves who has been at 130 his whole career. Thats all Im saying
I didn't really catch that!
^ya but those guys had a good base and were not tiny...tito was cutting to 147 and boxed mainly at 147 most of his career and walked around weighing 175 this is fact.
so he was the bigger guy.
Oscar is the only other guy but he wasnt known for devastating power but he did come up from super featherweight 130 pounds all the way up to 160. impressive.

What about Trinidad? He knocked the LIVING FUCK out of William Joppy and Cherifi. And Mayorga. I'd say he increased in power. Yeah he didn't knock out Hopkins or Wright, but that's because they both totally outboxed him and didn't let him hit them. Hopkins has a great chin anyhow and is used to middleweight shots. Or are you saying Trinidad is an example? It isn't clear from your wording.
It depends on the fighter who can pack on muscle and power. Zab seemed to add power when he moved to welterweight. His punches were definitely more powerful than 140.
I can't name many smaller guys because unfortunately I don't know very much about a lot of them, due to the fact of VERY limited US exposure. But, I know muscle is muscle. Adding muscle would increase your strength and your weight at the same time. But, muscle obviously isn't the only thing there is to power punching. Speed and the type of punch also play important roles. And counters are usually the most effective punches.

Why hate man?
lmao weret the experts saying MORALES will win he is the bigger guy? hahah wow.

Keep in mind that Pac himself was fighting Morales/Barrera who themselves came from lower weight classes.
^LMAO not much lower! 122 and they were still bigger when they cut weight especially morales.
Hector velasquez a natural 130 and 135 pound fighter! he also walks around at 165. and he got pummeled by a guy who used to fight at 108 pounds!
JMM natural 126 pounder and a bigger guy.
Pacman seems to be the only guy who can do it...its harder for little guys to be devastating in power when they move up... bigger guys are naturally bigger and have a good base of power to work from and build on...look at tito trinidad.
Keep in mind that Pac himself was fighting Morales/Barrera who themselves came from lower weight classes.
Why do people state that he started at 106 and say he moved all the way up to 130?
Have you heard of something called GROWING...?
Because not a lot if any guys who start so small carry that violent power up 6 weight classes and KO pound for pound Hall of Fame fighters. :D
