Steward Sees A Pacquiao Victory
19.01.06 - By Scoop Malinowski: Hall of Fame trainer and HBO boxing analyst Emanuel Steward thinks Manny Pacquiao will avenge last year's decision loss to Erik Morales in this weekend's big rematch showdown in Las Vegas.
"I'm going with Pacquiao," says Steward. "I think he will win because I think he learned from seeing Morales lose the fight (to Raheem). He'll use more boxing skills and it will help him keep on balance in the fight. I think he'll fight this fight a little more intelligently. I think he will."
"Morales has been in some tough fights. I will go with Pacquiao on this one."
Morales and Pacquiao battle 12 rounds at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on Saturday night. In America the event will be televised by HBO pay-per-view
You called it, good buddy! Re-lent-less, that Pac was!
thanks a lot buddy,
now i am on my knees looking for bits and clips of the fight ...
hope to see the video ASAP ...
PAC will not BOX and will not win the fight if he BOX ...
he should be unrelentless from the starting BELL, I know the risk is their that he might get KTFO but thats the only way to beat Erik ... LET IT ALL HANG !!!
GO PAC GO!!You called it, good buddy! Re-lent-less, that Pac was!

GO PAC GO!!
Its interesting to see who will do the most adjustments
on this fight. And who does it first.
I know Pac is saying he will box more. But my senses
tell me the natural brawler in him will surface soon enough.
That said, either Pac wins by stoppage or Morales wins by decision.
pac can never win a UD in vegas.. you know arum is very influential in vegas. unless pac convincingly beats morales like raheem did.
if it is close.. it would be a split decision for morales..
and the judge would confess... "I fucked up"
so pacman should go for KO.
exactly. LOL! Raheem whomped Morales winning 10 rounds out of 12 and the 3rd judge scored the fight 115-113 Raheem and 116-112 the other one. I'm definitely worried if it goes to the cards.
Steward is contradicting himself here. in the last few Pac fights, he said that Pac can't really change his style.
BrownBomber said it best, and i agree with him.
haha, what was his exact words?
Steward: "Pac is very explosive, a very exciting fighter. He's one of my favorite fighters at the moment."
Lampley: "So Emmanuel, you like fighters that hit and get hit? Manny Pacquiao hits and get hit."
They had a short laugh and I'm pretty sure those were the exact words.
I didn't wanna take away anything from Steward's prediction, but I remember him admitting that he is a Pac nuthugger during Pac's last fight :D

I have read that Stewart just placed a bet on Morales
Nah, I'm serious. During his fight with Hector Velasquez, Steward openly admitted that Pacquiao is one of his favorite fighters at the moment, did you see that fight?

Looking at Pac's record, it is remarkable that for one who has on it such number of fights, he does not have a Split or Majority decision W or L. It is either he won big or lost big--two stoppages in his three loss collumn, and one a decisive UD (to Morales).
People still talk about the two draws-- vs. ASanchez and JMM-- particularly JMM, and opinions clash.
It seems that integral to the Pac mystique is the BIG WIN, either by stoppage or sheer, unmistakable imposition of will. Now, if Pac plays the boxer on the 21st, as Stewart seems to say, and somewhat succeeds--SOMEWHAT-- but fails to clearly impose his will (a very tough thing to do to an Erik Morales), will the judges see things in his favor? Or, will the say, the Pac that entered the ring wasn't the same Pac they expected?
Can he win the close one? Or, will the mystique haunt him?
On the other hand, Pac, if he loses, does not have a rematch clause, while Erik has one. If the fight turns out to be indecisive, shall the exciting prospect of a third meeting influence the judges enough for them to give it to Manny?
Just asking...
I dont he gave a good prediction on this fight. He thinks Manny will box like Raheem, something I doubt very much.Pac is coming out to kill and if he doesnt tko Morales in the first 5 he will most likely lose another ud.Remember he must be very carefull in those first 5 rounds not to get koed himself and must match Morales' boxing skills in order stay close on the cards or else he is gonna have a long night all over again.
i agree completely
was about to post this... steward is usually very good as far as fight predictions
