Excuse me for butting in. I got no problem with fans disliking boxers. But to defend a dirty boxer and say he was treated unfairly, I guess you never saw the entire match. As far as physical advantages i think the gloves have little affect. However they do change a fighter mentally. I mean its like pool (sounds funny i know) all the pros can win with any stick but if they were told to switch before a match it would throw they off.

was there ever a fight before this where a someone used gloves as an excuse? back in the 80's there was a pre fight issue about using a "thumbless" gloves (thumbs shaved off), big name bout, but i forgot who they were, it was in the contract so like pac, the other guy wasn't too happy about it, coz he is not used to it...like manny p said you have to look it up in boxing history...it wasn't an excuse, more like a complain, coz he only had a little bit of time to train with it and get used to or something, so as you can see, gloves can be an issue, to some boxers at least...imho, especially for power puncher like Pac, gloves with less padding makes a big difference.
