I know this question doesn't pop up usually but I was just thinking, if someone like holyfield were to show as much heart against tyson in real fight as he did in the ring when he won both matches, would he still come out on top or would he end up losing??
Right. Being a good boxer doesn't make a good street fighter.
But for guys like Tyson, hell he was fightin' in the street
way before he got in the ring. I think fighters just gotta know you can't cross the two and come out on top. At least not every time you fight.
never said they can't be good in a street fight ..and i even said tyson could very well be a good street fighter read the hole thread before you jump in on me
Yes some like a Tyson could do very well in a strret fight and i would not want to be the one to find out .
But just because he is a boxer does not make him a great street fighter alot more things you need to look for kicks, wrestling ..etc .

I'm not talking about whether or not they would have weapons, if a good boxer were to get into a street fight he could just end the fight quickly by knocking the other guy out with his quick hand speed right? so wouldn't they still end up winning in a street fight despite the fact street fights aren't bound by rules.
well yes but if i knew he was a pro boxer i would try to take it to the ground or kick ...not going to let him load up i would do a Ruiz then take him down

well 1st of all 90% of street fights end up on the ground any martial arts teacher would tell you this.
I know this from experience LOL i think i've had more street fights then Duran had pro fights LOL .
I will say it again from my time in Freeport IL i have heard that Gerald McClellan's brother was the better all around fighter and a much better street fighter then he was
but he would have no chance in the ring with Gerald .
A MMA fighter now is a different story they train for a street fight boxers do not .

Hmmmm... I don't know man. A street fight? a real street fight wit' weopons at your disposal(not including guns or knives)
Plus street fights are fast and furious. you don't have time to train and make a gameplan. In the ring, if you're losing you can
use your head and stratagies and all that. In a street fight if you're gettin pumbled you're gettin' pumbled.

i dont know about anyone else but i think the whole "who would win in a street fight" threads are played out
in every instance the person who lands the first clean punch wins. bare knuckles upside the fuckin head, case fuckin closed.
I agree with the above. In addition, boxers are trained to follow the rules of boxing. They might actually be in the habit of following those rules and think a ref is going to call something on the street haha.
And Holyfield vs Tyson on the street? I say Tyson. Hes a bad mutha.
