Everyone always says that Floyd has this huge ego. But can anyone explain why?
The only thing I saw was when Mayweather fought Gatti he talked a whole lot of shit before the fight. It made me really dislike him... But then after the fight he said what a great warrior Gatti was and that he deserves great mention even though Floyd kicked the crap out of him. He said that he said all that shit just to promote the fight.
So I liked him again after he did that... But why haven't you all changed your minds?
It's funny. I honestly don't know how you could be humble without sounding stupid when you're currently the best active boxer.
a fighter should believe in himself, if he doesn't he's screwed and can't win
Just b/c YOU changed your mind about a fighter doesn't mean you should expect everyone else to do the same. Their will alwasy be haters no matter how great or polite a fighter is in or outside the ring.
I didn't say I expected everyone else to change their minds. I was asking why people haven't. How in the holy hell did you think I was expecting others to change when I was ASKING what people thought.
Floyd ain't got enough brains to be arrogant. Bottomline is in his prime he's basically MIA. I figure he could've easily made an extra 5-10 mil had he stepped up to make himself a compelling fighter. Instead he was too busy bein' the little Tyson wannabe that couldn't figure it all out.
Now, if he can get his act together and land the Zabby fight, which ain't guaranteed, he still has some time left.

Who knows? You weigh his comments about Gatti before the fight with his domestic troubles that occurred near the same time against the idea that he was trying to sell his first ppv and that he generally is pretty complimentary of fighters that he doesn't need to be complimentary of (Mitchell, etc.). Usually fighters won't trash each other for a free fight or against a lesser opponent but will do so for a ppv (with exceptions of course). I've gone from hating FLoyd to being more in the middle. He's great and he's a star though. He brings me to the tent in every fight. I'll probably root for Judah but FLoyd is a draw to boxing fans and could be to mainstream fans now that he's at welterweight. I actually think his jerk persona is the one that could elevate him to a crossover star. Wonderful fighter though, no matter what you think of his personality
I'll root for Floyd because Judah is now in the position of Talking all that shit. Plus I've got Family in Grand Rapids that knows the mans Family so I'm glad a guy like him could Rise above all that inner city Racism in Grand Rapids and be succesful
