Out of these 2 who was more overrated?
Rocky Sloppiano- fought old men and
bums to get a 49-0 record. Got knocked down
by a 45 year old light heavyweight(Archie Moore)
Jerk Dumbsey(Jack Dempsey)- May have cheated
to win belt, seen holding somethin in his
hands when he knocked out the champ to win belt.
Also refused to fight black people, meaning he
didnt fight everybody out there and that is
also very racist.
if you put Marciano's work ethic, heart and determination into any fighter, they would be the greatest of all time. What some people don't want to realize is that the fifties were a differnt time. The training methods were different, as was the nutrition.
To make a point....Mike Spinks was able to beat an aged Larry Holmes and make a nice run at heavyweight. His problem at Heavy was lack of power. He wasn't exactly a big guy. If Marciano and his power were fighting today, you don't think he would be great?
I would imagine that Marciano today would be fighting at around 210 with sick power. I'm sure he would be good in any any era.
I have him in my top ten, towards the bottom all time...fyi
well look at slopiano record
on boxrec. com you'll
see that hardly any of his opponents
were above 225 lbs. he had a lot
of small heavyweights on his record.
these giants they have out now adays
would eat him up. Someone as mediocer as
Riddick Bowe would have killed him
all I'm sayin is take
a closer look at these
fighters and dont believe
the hype. and for anyone
who thinks this thread is
racially motivated I believe
Vitology Klitko could have
whipped both Dempsey and
Sloppiano's behind. And Vitology
is whiter then both of them

really werent that great if
you take a closer look at them.
people rate them too high.
every1's wrong and your right, is that how it works?
don't put words in my mouth. I couldn't disagree with you more.

I will just say that I refuse to vote in your racist poll because your hate for whites served as the inspiration needed to create it. That being said, I can't go without pointing out the fact that while both of those fighters had hall of fame careers, Tyson turned out to be arguably the biggest disapointment in the history of the heavyweight division. If Tyson had been 185 lbs., he wouldn't have even been able to KO those 200 lb. fighters he started out with, and every time he stepped up to the plate, he failed miserably, winning the belt from a glorified club fighter and losing it to another one. There, I've expressed myself.

Mike tyson was!
I think that you are racist, you have a problem with boxers who happen to be everything but black.
I was think the same thing....but then i remembered that black people cant be racist
It cant be one rule for you and another for everyone else MikeTsyonJr!!

you dont know boxing if you think that Dempsey is overrated.
Both of these guys are in the hall of fame for a reason. Also they were dedicated to the sport unlike Iron Ike, the criminal, who could not speak english fluently if his life depended on it.

rocky is a boxing legend, as is jack. archie moore had 131 ko's, which im pretty sure is the most of any HW , ever, and rocky got up early. tyson's fight with quick tillis was pathetic. Tillis is a third rate ali, ali would mess tyson up big time, tko no later than 5. Tyson went 10 rounds with quick and won a fairly close decision. and if u think rocky's time persiod was week, wat was tysons?
you are the biggest idiot i have ever met'
wtf?
your just ignorant as hell aren't you
Marciano didn't go looking for bums he cleared out his entire division. Its not like there were good fighters and he dodged them, the entire division was the fighters he fought. Jersey Joe Walcott was in his prime when he fought marciano. and being knocked down by Archie Moore is nothing bad, He was light heavy but he also had a hard punch and has more ko's then any other boxer
so just be quiet cause you obviously have no idea what your talking about
Well look who his dad is, what do you expect.

I would say the most overrated thing here is your wit, though only you seem to rate it highly...
to have Mike Tyson on any top 10 heavyweight list and especially above Lewis and Holyfield is fucking RETARDED
well, i did my list be head-to-head matchups in their primes, i just looked at all the fighters in their primes, and see who was better than who, and that's how i got the list.
