FRANK WARREN looks set to box Ricky Hatton into a corner by adding Naoufel Ben Rabah to his stable of fighters.
Ben Rabah is Hatton’s mandatory challenger for his IBF light-Welterweight title while Souleymane M’Baye is No 1 rival for The Hitman’s WBA crown.
M’Baye is already under Warren’s promotional banner with Sports Network. And it looks as if Ben Rabah could be joining him.
But Hatton, 27, has said he will give up the WBA title rather than box again on a Warren show
Hatton should sign with Goldenboy-it is the only chance we have of seeing him fight Floyd!
I wont pick against Floyd no matter who he fights he is easily the best talent in the sport but I do get the feeling that from 140 to 160 Ricky Hatton is the one guy Floyd does not want to bother with, does anyone else get this feeling?
I have nothing to back it up with just a feeling.
Signing with Golden Boy would make Floyd fish or cut bait so to speak in terms of Hatton-as it stands now he can just use Manchester excuse.
Hatton should take the Superchamp option with the WBA, it hasn't done Judah and Mormeck any harm and they're still regarded as the WBA champions.
As for Ben Rabah, Hattoncould take him out in a round. As long as hatton signs with a big American promoter then Warren will be hard pressed to pursue his childish vendetta.
hatton will be titleless but still be the real champ as long as he takes the proper fights, eg chases the other champs, cotto and PBF.
Hatton will prob only want to keep one title anyway, much less hassle that way for him
