I'm watchin the replay of Tito vs Wright right now and I notice this along time agao, but I decide to ask now.
I know he Puerto Rican, but how come he look different from most Puerto Ricans I see? Most Puerto Ricans I see are light skin, but Trinbidad aint.
Is Tito mix or sumthing?
Puerto Ricans can be any color.
Puerto Rico was originally part of Hispanola - now the D.R.(where Columbus landed). The island was inhabited by Natives. As the spanish settled Latin American and brought slaves with them each island mixed. Ricans are black and spanish with some native. Like Cubans, black and spanish. Ricans, Cubans, Dominicans can black/spanish or black/indian or all three or spanish/indian. Just to clear that up.
Remeber Jorge Luiz Gonzalas, He looked like a black man from Harlem, but he was as Cuban as Castro.
100000.00 points donated to irapedaniger successfully! why do you have a red bar ?
have a black friend who worked in alaska for a number of years.he told me he went from black to a yellower color from lack of sunlight.his hair also became straight. i've seen pictures.
Black people refering to African Americans can have straight hair living in a warmer climate it doesn't really matter where a African American can live But they probably have some sort of mixture somewhere in their lineage 1/3 of African Americans have Native Americans mixed in them. It just depends on Genetics

That was one stupidest questions I have ever read..
Puerto Rico imported people from Africa as slaves to use them for Sugarcane Plantations just like every island owned by Spain in the 16th-19th century. Puerto Ricans vary from colors Red, Black, Brownish, Tan, and White.
Spanish mixed with Tiano and African is basically the mixes you will find in the Carribean islands of Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic. Not so much in Haiti because the French owned them and The Haitians(Africans) revolted and took over their side of the island and Ran the French out. After that They took over the Dominican Republic side of the island and held it for 11 years and the Haitians there also threatened Cuba aswell.
never even bothered to look in this thread before... all i have to say is WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!!!!

he has black in him.
Puerto Ricans are mixed, Spaniard,Taino(native indian),African and some have dutch and Italian blood. Thats why some Puerto Ricans look white ex. Ricky Martin, Geraldo Rivera and some look black Tito, Ruben Siera, Bernie Williams. etc..and some look like a "typical Puerto Rican Cotto, Gomez, Camacho..
Actually he is in part right, over time, when you are exposed to more sun you produce more melanin. Melanin is what gives you a darker color. Melanin is what gives us our individual pigment. THe more melanin, the darker you are. Over time of prolonged exposure your body produces more melanin in order to protect you from the sun. Genes are passed down from generation to generation and this determines the offspring's pigment.
Mutation & adaption happens over generations, not a few years.

Puerto Ricans have blacks in them. I think Tito is half black.
You think Tito is half black- hence i think you must not be too smart.
Puerto Ricans can be fair skin, blonde hair blue eyes, they can also be as black as Nigerians, and everywhere inbetween.
i am puertorican and puerto rico is a big melting pot ...we are a mix of taino indian, spaniards, african ect......that is why our skin color varies from black to white..for example my grandmother is from a town called "loiza aldea" most of the population there is black skined like my grandmother she is puertorican but if you saw her you would assume she is african american..my grandfather is also puertorican but white skined with blue eyes....therefore my mom's skin is dark like tito's my dad is also puertorican with white skin therefore my skin is like a natural tan dark but not too dark .....this type of cycle is what happens in puerto rico ..i hope this helps explain why puertoricans vary in skin color ..
