I just finished watching the Gatti/Mayweather fight on HBO and thought I would ask the question... Which is worst and humiliating, being KOed with one punch or being beat into submission from an accumulation of punches.
its more humiliating to get beat down by a bunch of punches, because it shows you were the inferior fighter. a better fighter can make one mistake and get ko'd by a big puncher, but lose in the rematch. if you get beat down, then it proves you are inferior. we know floyd is better than gatti because he beat him down in every round. however, when rahman ko'd lewis, everyone knew who was better, and lewis proved it in the rematch
i couldn't have said it any better.
you asked were i came from and thats it didn't lie no BS told it true I an't hear to im press no body just to share my opion about the sport we all love and hold dear, ho haten just respect ya know an't ripping on no by like I said just doing my best to keep it real.
i never asked you where you came from. And its not like anyone thought you were lying. Dont be so defensive
and what you mean about AREALFIGHTER battle is where is born mate for entertainment or for AREALFIGHTER wants to see to go home to there families and tell their grand children stories
happy for ya, whats your point about being a vet. It was not asked if you were a soldier, it was pointed out that you try to convince us that you are a real fighter, which you are not. Dont try to impress a guy who has had countless family members in the sand box, not to mention the rice paties, and the trenches. I respect that you were a soldier, but dont expect to impress me by it.

does anyone else have a problem believing that he is real fighter, maybe its the fact the you apitalized your name and made it AREALFIGHTER. Sounds a little to much like he is trying to convince us rather then convey.
People that are lying try to convince you, rather then convey their message to you
and he is definantly trying to convince us
dude if what i'm seeing is true i'll eat pussy but i could have sworn this origninal post was started by other than ES
alright, now ur just TRYING to make me sound like a rip-off artist...
While Gatti was dominated I do have a problem with the beat into submission portion of the post (Dan Rafael has made the same mistake). Gatti wanted to continue but Buddy McGirt would not allow it. That's why the quitting on the stool statments have been very incorrect. I'm not sure that losing is embarrassing if you worked hard in camp and you showed up trying to win. I think its mroe embarrassing to get caught using steroids or to show up not ready to fight. If a guy gets blown out then thats the way it goes. WHen a fighter is too cracked out to give an effort, then he is embarrassing his sport and stealing money from fans
I watched it as well, and I can see that it would be humiliating but at least he nevr went down. Well he never really went down but no matter what Mayweather couldn't hurt Gatti. If Gatti had the speed of Mayweather he would have destroyed him.
Well, its too bad we don't live in a "what if" world. Gatti damn near collapsed at the end of round six.

1 punch, depending on the circumstance I don't think is nescesarily humiliating at all. Everybody knows what pain is, and understands that getting hit with this monsterous left hook off balance could kill them, so they can justify their fighter getting knocked out. Getting out worked, out punched, and basically humiliated like Gatti was in the Mayweather fight was much worse. He got knocked over the ring non-stop and hardly laid a finger on him.
I think getting beat by one punch, because it looks like its easy to beat the person who gets knocked out. But it depends on when the one punch happens.
all depends on the circumstances
nothing wrong with being beat by one punch if you were already losing the fight...
BUT it is pretty bad to be winning a fight then stopped with a single punch
if you are just being thrashed round after round, it is probably more embarassing because it is over an extended period of time...at least with being KOed with one punch...one can just say "oh well, that's boxing! anything can happen with a single punch"
but to be humiliated round by round...basically showing the crowd that you are helpless and there is nothing you can do while being punch-raped...then I would go with the round by round beating...
I agree except flip the one-punch thing around for the same reasoning you gave. If he gets a lucky punch in after I had been beating him for five or so rounds, then shit happens, but if I get KO'ed in a bout I'm already losing by a single punch then he's better than me, and I have a glass chin.
The beating Gatti took is far more embarassing, in my eyes, than any one-punch KO. He looked like a little kid being beaten by an abusive father. There was nothing he can do about it. I give him credit for standing in for six rounds of that kind of punishment, but that was brutal.
