Not a robbery. In reality probably should have been scored even but it happens. Dirrell used the wrong gameplan, it was his fight to lose as Froch looked awful.
The two british judges favoured their compatriot. The Mexican judge had it right by giving it to dirrel by one point.
Still I agree with you, it should have been even.
But it would be hard to score it even when it's a 6 man tournament, you either win or lose.
what's the worst decision ever in boxing?
scores by judges?
fighting tactic?

BUMP!!!
2009 - Berto vs Collazo -116 to 111 in favour of Berto
Lot's more where that came from.
If a referees decision counts as a decision, I would have to say when the fight was stopped between Meldrick Taylor & Chavez. Just a few more seconds...That hurt, It still hurts till this day. Where would Taylor's career have gone???? Would chavez have continued his feirceness? Poor taylor was ruined after that. Did he take too many punches?
In regards to the question this thread asks,
I'd have to go with Emanuel Augustus vs Courtney Butron.
One judge had it 99-90 for Burton, and Augustus had clearly won about 9 rounds to 1. An idiot couldn't have scored that fight for Burton, yet two of the judges gave it to him, one as a shut out.
It was in Michigan, and on Friday night fights Teddy Atlas went balastic. He was cussing out people from the Michigan state Athletic commission, and the fights met with protest and disgust at the venue and across the boxing world.
I've never seen another fighter almost totally shut out his opponent only to see a shut out score favoring the opponent.
It was unbelieveable, and still makes me sick to think about it. Good, now I don't have to type out a post, you did it for me. That was the most absurd decision I have ever seen, words can't even convey how BS that was. In fact, it was so BS that at the sound of the 10th round bell, I left the room and went to out to eat dinner rather then listen to the decision. Then a few days later, I was browsing through boxrec, and I saw Augustus lost. I KNEW it was a boxrec mistake since I watched the fight. So I went to the boxrec forums, and said I was sure Augustus won the fight, and they told me he was robbed. Honestly, that was the worst, I've been mad at decisions plenty of times, but I've never been in complete and utter shock and denial. It was surreal.
I think the worst decision was sweet pea, delahoya. i stopped watching boxing for a yr, that was bullshit, pernell boxed the shit out of oscar that night. and for the record, hopkins won the first fight on my card 116-112, the second fight i had a draw, could have been either by a round.
Foreman over Axel Schultz, that was pure highway robbery
That fight defo deserves a mention but the two that spring to mind are.
Whitaker v Chavez
Lewis v Holyfield 1
I'd have to go with Emanuel Augustus vs Courtney Butron. That one was joke, just a complete farce. Either those judges weren't watching the fight, or felt it wasn't in their best interests to score what they saw.
Having said that, the worst decision from the sport of boxing's perspective I've seen was Holyfield-Lewis I. That one really gave boxing a bad name.

I saw that too. When Atlas was yelling at the COMMISIONER, that fool did not know the difference between a majority and split decision. Also the ref penalized a point against Augustus when Burton fouled!! That fight was a sham. Didn't Atlas swear to never to come back to Michigan until it got fixed up there?
Worst one I ever saw was for the British welterweight title. David Barnes vs Jimmy Vincent. Barnes was actually getting that bad a beating Frank Warren wanted him pulled out at the end of the eighth, but he had a good ninth so they kept him in. No one could believe it when the ref raised Barnes's hand. Basically he was the golden boy whereas Vincent was the journeyman come good, so he obviously wasnt worthy of the win despite the fact he KTF out of Barnes
Worst decision I ever saw was probably Holyfield-Lewis. That was fucking ridiculous. Lewis won at least 8 rounds. I'm sure there have been worse decisions though, just haven't seen 'em.
thats the first fight that pops into my head when i hear "worst decision ever".
Thomas Ulrich vs Matthew Barney (Ebu title fight) in Germany, dont know if any of you have have seen this fight from earlier this year but its one of the worst decisions ever. As you know to win on points in germany you have to win at least 10 rounds clearly, Some people had barney winning all 12 rounds, this is how one sided the fight was and Ulrich still got the decision. If you want to win in Germany the only way it can be done is by ko.
That was a really bad decision. Boxing in Germany is just so incredibly corrupt that it wasn't too surprising though.
