Famous offspring Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (23-0-1, 18 KOs) and Carlos Molina (9-1-1, 5 KOs) battled to a controversial six round draw Friday night in a jr welterweight bout. Molina gave as good as he got early on and as the bout progressed Molina was able to land numerous clean shots to Chavez' head, punctuating the bout with a hard right to Chavez' jaw. No scores were announced. The knowledgable fans in Monterrey, Mexico booed Chavez when the referee raised his hand after the bout, and cheered when the ref did the same for Molina, who hails from the Chicago area.

i just saw this on b-talk
"December 17, 2005 - JC Chavez Jr. D6 Carlos Molina... Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. got the first blemish on his record in Monterrey, Mexico. He fought to a six-round draw against the very tough Carlos Molina, who gave Chavez all he could handle by continously coming forward throwing punches. Chavez landed more effective punches and rocked Molina a few times in the fight while Molina landed some
decent punches which did little to no damage. Chavez deserved to win the junior welterweight fight due to his effective punching. His record stands at 23-0-1 with 18 KOs while Molina gets on the map at 8-1-1 with 4 KOs."
Why you say that?
The way he measures his opponent and then shoot the overhand right is similar to how Trinidad measures his opponent and shoot the left hook.

I have to Find out more about molina if he's from the chicago area.
I have no prob with boxers, I just think his skill/and ability are overrated.
I'll tell you what... when/if Taylor beats him, THEN you can say he's overrated. Because if a wild punching Taylor can beat Wright then ANYONE can beat him. :boxing:
Anyone who honestly thinks Wright sucks isn't a true fan of boxing. Winky BOXES, it may not be the most crowd pleasing or exciting to watch, however that is the true form of boxing. Just because you don't like the way he boxes doesn't detract from the fact that he is one of the greatest technical boxers of all time. Snore while you watch his fights all you want... he still keeps winning doesn't he?
Furthermore, huge props to Soliman for showing some weaknesses in a sick Winky Wrights armor. With that though, anyone is going to land a couple punches when you throw over 1000 in a fight.

Seriously though. A 13% hit percentage? I could land more accurately while sedated, wearing a blindfold and having one arm tied behind my back. He is an exciting fighter to watch though, I'll give him that.

Wright does anything but suck. That guy is awesome.
I'ts common knowledge he fights down to the level of his opponents. Oh yeah and this just in Mech.
He came the closest to knocking Soliman out that anyone ever has.

oh fuck.
Is this the only post that makes any sense?
Like pro's don't have tough fights. I thought we went through this last week with the Wright/Soliman ordeal.
I read someone type: Wright sucks.
Shoelaces, Stepladder, and Celing draw. Now.
I type that shit all the time.Pre-Soliman.
I just saw the fight, calling chavez jr a bust is a disservice to the great work done by carlos Molina. I am more impressed with chavez Jr now than i was before.
Carlos Molina moved very well the whole fight, had excellent defense, and was very quick. Frankly yeah i believe chavez jr lost but the guy he lost to is a genuine prospect, I think anyone that saw the fight can see that.
Also to chavez jr's credit it wasnt a blow out, and managed to hurt Molina in 2 different rounds. Once with a shot to the body and once with a shot upstairs. The fight was competitive throughout. And it seemed like in the end it was a lack of experience on Chavez's end that imo cost him the fight.
Im more impressed with Chavez Jr now because he fought a very game young fighter, who's bigger experience showed, yet he was still VERY competitive. Dont write off Chavez Jr. just yet. Also a lot of the shots were caught by Jr's gloves.
oh fuck.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......he does have a weak bakground, and yeah i looked at molinas record and its decent plus you have to assume he has a stronger amateur background compared to JCC Jr , like you said
"calling chavez jr a bust is a disservice to the great work done by carlos Molina."
Id give you good K for that.....but I dont like you..

i was watchin the fight and all i see is little man rockin chavez gettin rocked a couple of times
who thought it wasnt a draw??? i saw little bit so i dont kno
torres would put this guy to sleep in the 2 round or so they should make that fight happen
Chavez is still young so its hard to call him a bust already. Isn't this the guy who beat his dad and was supposed to fight on the Rock-Vitali undercard?
torres would literatly kill him. after he almost ko ed cotto i become a fan. to bad thats the only fight the got on him
Did Torres base his style on Trinidad's?
