with erik morales, he said he bet his life he will win by Ko!
what happens if he loses?
Does he take his life?
All I know is this is the first time I heard a fighter say he bets his life maybe his english was misinterpted.
Manny does seem super driven now I feel he will come out on top and prove the so called experts wrong again.
Focus is a main tool for a fighters success he has complete focus now.
i think manny pac is a bit too over-confident, he might win but i cant see him knocking out morales! morales hasn't ever been down (propally)
riiiiight that time barrera put him down late wasnt genuine.
morales was lucky twice to not get koed by barrera.
he aint mr unknockoutable, ask jones jr

there's nothing wrong being confident or overconfident... rather than going to a fight with his balls tucked in his throat.
Some people definitely need to go back to 1st grade English(no pun intended). It's a figure of speech for crying out loud.
When Corrales said he would go through hell before he give up his belt, did you think he meant it literally?
you're a pinoy, right? i think you are coz how would you know all of these things?
i agree w/ you 100% that pac wasn't meant he would take his own life if he loses, he was just trying to say he would give it his all and that losing is never an option!!Much what what I said is common knowledge among followers of Pac's career--the pack consists of many nationalities, a good number are even fans and compatriots of his opponents.
The matter of linguistic nuances though I learned along the way. :) The study of cultures is a little hobby of mine. It's handy when one travels...;)
Anyway, there's much I still need to know; I'm eager to learn.
Thanks!
Well SAID!!!!!!
Are you PINOY dude????
Anyway... KARMA for you dude :DThanks!
The word has not been coined yet, it seems, but it should have been: Philippinephile. Count me as one.:)I've met quite a number!
Pacman is from the southern island of Mindanao (General Santos City) and traces his roots to the island of Cebu in the Visayas, smack in the middle of the string of islands called the Philippines.
As one who has studied the nuances of the Cebuano vernacular (the Philippines has hundreds of linguistic sub-sets), I smilingly recognize the statement as common hyperbole--- a phrase that a native Cebuano would say if he intends to emphasize that he's going to give something his all. It should not be taken literally. :)
It is much in the manner of an old-fashioned american man telling his beloved, "Ill die for you.";)
well spoken man thanks for clearing it up.

I'll bet it was misinterpreted(?). I think Manny should be the favorite going in. I'll still go with Morales by UD, but wouldnt be suprised if Manny shocks Morales.
