Can you believe that so many were pushing for this matchup after Tito was going to "beat" Hopkins? There was talk of this and me, I was hoping they'd meet but Hopkins got in the way.
So, I'll just ask... who wins? They're both "past their primes."
Roy wins this by unanimous decision.
I'm a huge Tito fan.....but realize he would have been slaughtered by Roy Jones.
Tito was at his best, probably at 154 (certainly not at 160)...while Jones may have been the most talented 160lber ever. Jones speed & power at that weight was incredible.
Truthfully.....a mismatch, in Jones' favor.
So, who would win if they fought Machotime?
This fight would never happen. Tito is too small for RJJ. In their primes there are like 15 pounds that make that fight impossible.
roy by KO.. too much speed and way to much power for tito.. if hopkins can KO Tito roy will do it way sooner

Tarver did it... Tarver isnt as big a puncher for his weight class as is Tito.
Dont act all high and mighty.
comparing tarver to trinidad is pure ignorance...close ur account now
hmm
I know all about the KO, but either way, the power is there. And it doesn't matter what weight, Roy is just too strong. Hell, in his younger days at 160 or if ya want a catch weight of 164 Roy was just that much faster. Either way Tito has to bulk up and add fake weight to go to a higher level. Tito puts punches together well vs guys who cannot box (Mayorga). Vs a master boxer with great speed and power like Roy, Tito only has one choice, and that is to fall.
No, I'd think they'd meet at weight between their two classes, not 168.
Tito put punches together well. Let me add, Tarver threw up that punched that KO Jones seemingly out of nowhere. In fact, if you look at the replay of that KO punch, Tarver had his eyes close.
tarver had trouble but could have won more easily if he just wasn't a big scaredy cat. Eric Harding is a skilled fighter with no name recognition, that's all. It's no shame losing to him.
Either way, the point is power. Tito would not KO Roy, for two reasons: Tito was not a lightheavyweight, and Tito would never hit Roy clean.
Tito would have to bulk up in his prime 20-25 lbs to meet Roy at 168 or 175. Tarver has to sweat from 205 to make 175. Huge power and size difference.

28 year old flaming
Im not going to argue who is better Tito or Tarver because I do agree with your dumb ass that Tito is better but he is not a bigger puncher then Tarver.
The power that Tarver has displayed against Jones and Harding is nothing short of awesome, couple that with the fact that Tarver is a gigantic Lt. HW and Tito never ever ever fought for any established length of time at either 154 or 160...
Tarver is more powerful-no need to reply or debate you are simply wrong.
hmm
Eric Harding is a good fighter and always has been. He's definitely one of the top 5 175 guys over the last 10 years. He gave Roy plenty of problems before being stopped and he beat Tarver and Griffin. Beat Griffin twice I think. And that was in Griffin's prime when he had wins over Toney, before RJJ splatted him.
Tito was beaten by the best of his time period. Tarver lost to Eric Harding and had trouble in two of the three bouts with an old Jones. An old-glass jawed-weight-drained Jones too.
Tito has more power pound for pound. That's IT. Straight up, man for man, Tarver easily has more power. The things Tarver has done to various lightheavyweights Tito would never do, because he doesn't have the body to fight at 175 or the timing that Tarver does.
Tito would lose to Roy even now. Roy fears Tarver. Not Tito.
I dont think Tito wins, but remember, Tito hits harder than Tarver and Tito is/was better than Tarver will ever be. I wrote my response to shoot down Dino and his arrogance.

Tito for his weight class does not hit harder than Tarver does for his weight class? Is that what you're saying?
Tito, period, is a better boxer than Tarver.
Tarver had trouble with Eric Fucking Harding.
Wrong...................
