Flu or not, Wright was not right

because of the style of soliman - he's a swarmer, and the classic boxer ( which is what winky is ) worst enemy is the swarmer. soliman still couldn't land shit, i think he threw like 1200 punches and landed 14 or something, in the fight that i saw, wright didn't look in top shape but he used his skills and pulled out the win. i give soliman props though, the boy's tough and he's got heart lol, soliman definately made it much more interesting. But youre right..he threw punch after punch after punch..shame winkys defense kept the majority of those from landing. That must have been very frustrating :confused:

yea man winky came in 11 pounds more. i give solimon alot of props tho i wanna see him fight again lol besides winky almost stoped but didnt. solimons heart was strong than winkys punches and winky whas heavyier by 11 pounds...sick or not who cares u shouldve postponed the fight then. thas no excuse if u a fighter u dont care if u sick or not.dont mention that u are sick then. i kno i would do that i would give it 110% then if i was sick

Why everyone is saying these things is ridiculous. And alot of people are acting like they've never seen Wright before. He is an excellent fighter and top guy but: He fights down to the level of his opponents and goes through the motions. You can not do that against Soliman because he is too akward. I haven't read a single credible post about this fight all night. The Kid was smiling all night, I think that won a lot of people over. He gave it his all and didnt give up. Winky was a bit embarrassed if ya ask me. Sam showed a ton of heart and spirit.

Say what you will but for a guy who was sick against a guy who would give anybody fits Winky did a fine job IMO........He damn near had the guy stopped on a couple of occasions and keep in mind this is a guy who has never been stopped and he landed half of his punches and the guy was all over the place not a stationary target.Wink fought to the level of his opposition granted but still think he will come in top form against Taylor and beat him by UD when it does happen.

I think people stay down on winky cause he's not an exciting power puncher. I love a great technician...a stick and mover. KO's are great sure...but BOXING is what it's all about. No way I was very impressed with the way winky handled soliman. Like merchant said predicting what soliman is gonna do next is like predicting where a fly is going to land. Winky did a great job punching whne he had to. He hit this guy with very clean shots. I agree that Trinidad could have done better by throwing more punches but Winky would destroy margarito and mayorga. for sure...winky would pick mayorga apart. simply being a thug and a bully isnt enough when in against a supreme technician....power punches only count when you land them.

It's not exactly his fault he doenst have alot of power (Ive always heard that a good chin and power..born with it or youre not) so he's done the only thing he can do...become superb at BOXING. Good for him. Sam was lunging and throwing in heavy volume, but landing very little. Clean, effective punches and all that, ya know ;)

head cold/chest cold != flu. Don't get me wrong, Wright definitely was affected by it, but as anyone who has had the flu will tell you, it is quite different from a cold. If wink had the flu he probably would have fell asleep on the way to the ring.

I'm just going to stop respond to posts and threads about Winky tonight... I know I have said it and will say it again, a flu can FUCK you up! Ask Rockin1 who has fought with a flu... I agree! Poor winky was dragging ass, literally. I've never seen him so slow and sluggish. I'm glad he got the win, but hope he went home and doped himself up with some kind of cold medicine. He even looked really pale, and his defense was not "wright" at all. :eek:

honestly if you ever saw soliman fight before you realize that winky's punches werent hurting him. the few that did land cleanly his movemnets were off the chain. That desicion was bull. i had soliman winning the first 2, 5, 6, 8, and 11 and 12. how do you miss 80% of your puches with an opponent that stands right infront of you. Soliman had the perfect style and stamina to beat winky and thats what he did.
